    The flat earth has a ton of performance packed in the design that’s why it’s recommended to surf it in more liters than your average to help Tone down the performance via extra foam this board will absolutely step your game up as a twin because it’s a whole lot looser in general which forces you to do 2 things 1: put your foot behind the twins versus stepping all the way back on the tail pad like you would on a traditional thruster which stiffens your surf stance and the board encourages you to surf off your rail rather than from your fins if you do your research you will find that the best surfers with the best rail game have mastered the art of surfing of the rails rather than of your fins this helps with finding the fast spots of the wave and assists in your vertical game as well

    It would be awesome if Eddie was on more shows in the future. It’s cool to see what the bigger guys are riding. I’m pretty much the same height and weight as him so would definitely help me decide what size board I need to get. I’m sure there are lots of other bigger guys in the same boat!

    I was in Oahu recently surfing Rockpiles and Ala Moana Bowls on a smaller day when an incredibly friendly surfer paddled up to me and started chatting me up. He shared some waves with me and I quickly realized it was Akila! Having had the privilege and honor to meet Akila on a mellow summer afternoon like that, and seeing these videos with Duke, the Aipa family really is full of truly incredible individuals! Good hearted and true to their craft. Loved seeing those quick clips of Akila on this latest video….I’ve been looking at a dual core Dark Twinn for a handful of months now…being in SoCal…but now I can’t stop reading about the Flat Earth…I’m torn! But I might have to stick to my original gut and go with the Twinn…for those mushy SoCal days! Tough decision to make but a good one to have. Thanks as always for the exceptional content Noel 🤙🏻

    Excellent break down and as close to a test drive of these models as you can give the viewer. I am also the same size as Eddie yet rip slightly less and hearing both of your takes on same boards/same waves is very helpful. Thank you Noel for this edition of surf school: don't judge a book by its cover.

    Thank you for having Duke on to clear that up. I have a flat earth and it is my favorite good wave board. I will definitely be looking at the dark twin a couple inches shorter for more of a average surf board.

    • @surfnshowreviews7777
      @surfnshowreviews7777  Před rokem +1

      The Dark Twinn thickness says 2 3/8 thick and even though his rails have a lower apex it’s a fuller rail so the volume feels true.
      The Flat Earth’s rails have a lower apex too but Akila tappers them more to make the board more sensitive and I went up in volume to tone the sensitivity down a little. That’s why I said you can size up 1 stock board size on the Flat Earth.

      @dkilla01 Před rokem +2

      @@stevehills5753 in twins I ride it up to about head high with the extra liter than my average because the design of the board is pretty aggressive if the wave is big and slow I’ll tend to throw in a keel but if it’s overhead and punchy then I’ll throw in the stabilizer to help with stability although I have rode it in twins on accident in overhead punchy surf but I felt a lot better with the Aipa twins as they are stiffer and help to stabilize the board with the performance glass
