Peter Dinklage did a truly amazing job making Tyrion such a robust and likeable character although he is so very flawed. I think a lot of people really like Tyrion and sympathize with him. We want to see him succeed but are very afraid he will make a really horrible choice that he can't talk his way out of and bring on his demise! Sadly I think that's what we will see in season 8!
What's wild C M D is Peter is the only American actor in the production. Flawless acting like many of the British actors. May I humbly submit that he's also a champion of smaller people. I only go there because his performance is so powerful that his size never a cures to anyone. Peace
Tyrion was GRRM's favorite character and one that was rumored to make it to the end of the books. Unfortunately, I feel Dan and Dave's version will kill him off like they did other favorite characters (Barriston Selmy.) I love Perter Dinklage and his portrayal of Tyrion. It has been one of the stellar highlights of the whole series. The writing (IMO) has gone down season by season, so the ending will probably be everyone we love dies and everyone we don't survives. Figures.
They premiered the first episode last Friday in NYC and threatened people there to not say a word about it or take any pictures. The word is that in that one episode, they don't see Tyrion making it to the end. I think he turns into a traitor which is a rumor for the last episode.

I am so concerned for Tyrion in the final season. Not because of character choices necessarily but because of the way the writers have sidelined him the last couple of seasons. I feel like without GRRM’s great material to go on they had no real grasp of where to go with his character. I’m afraid they won’t do him or Peter’s incredible performance justice.

The joke is his wife made 3 wishes. The first was for a house fit for a queen, so that was the honeycomb. The second wish was for the nicest ass in all the kingdoms, so that’s the jackass/donkey. Her third wish was for his cock to hang past his knees. Punchline is “I used to be six foot three!”

He isn't gonna turn villain anyway.
That doesn't mean anything in Game of Thrones. Ned Stark was a main character too, and he didn't end up doing much of anything before being killed off before his time.

I'm totally behind the notion that Tyrion is torn in season 7, hence his poor decisions, but I just wish it was presented more clearly and executed in such a way that didn't make him look like a complete idiot.
I think he loves her as like a friend not romantically but he deeply cares for her.

I really appreciate the way these videos are made. I was trying to watch one by Screen Junkies called "Game of Thrones Recap CRAM IT" and I had to shut it off and come to this one. Your videos are so much better than that hyperactive, loud, annoying drivel. I could not take that tone or visual presentation style. Yours is a much calmer and clearer presentation, both in your speech itself and in the way you synchronously present visuals to further demonstrate and compliment what you're saying I also like that these visuals include relevant quotes from the books as well as the show episode. The extremely clear presentation style allows for perfect recollection of events without grating on my nerves like high-pitched, loud fast-talking audio mixed and mashed with erratic visuals tend to do. Thank you for having one of the coolest, most collected Game of Thrones channels. Seriously, it's quite refreshing, particularly during times of stress.
i honestly don't think tyrion has any loyalty left to his family but loyalty for jamie. i think that when he sees jamie riding north to help john and dany to fight the dead, he will no longer have any problems with afilliating with dany

It's where he's dreaming of his own vineyard, how he'd call his vine "The Imp's Delight",

Soooo I always wondered:
When we see Shae in Tywin's bed, it made me wonder if Tywin is the one who put her in Tyrion's tent back in season 1. He paid for her, told her to "fall in love" with Tyrion as a means of keeping an eye on him. It's why Tywin is content to send Tyrion to be Hand of the King. Tywin only tells Tyrion that he can't bring Shae because he knows Tyrion will do the opposite.
It could just as easily not be any of that at all and it's just that Tywin swooped in after Tyrion casts her off.
Braun was the one who "found" Shae by taking her from another soldier's tent. Then Tyrian took her. So it's hard to fit Tywin in there unless you think Braun was working with Tywin.

Now I remember that I don't quite like the way Tyrions story line progressed since the show moved farther away from the books.
To be honest his arc in the books is pretty shit after he leaves Westeros. But I agree, they don't really know what to do with him in the show.

Agree, he is at his best, being an forced to act cleverly in the cultural background he is the theoretical expert of - in Westeros. Essos line, his high position beside Daenerys doesn't let him show his true Tyrion.
Wice Well, him being a pig riding amusement for a fat slave owner isn‘t that satisfying either, so you have a point there 😅. But he could flee in the end of the books, if i remember correctly, so there is hope.

Loving watching these! It's challenging our perception of the characters. The personal opinions and speculations make for very good content, not just the recaps which also help when talking about such a complex timeline.

Not really. Lazy to blame that. The issue is, he's not good with foreigners. He's better in his own city. He thrives around his family. And that brings me to my second point. He needs conflict. Whether it's Cerise, Joffery, Tywin, Kat. Right now, he's around someone who likes him that he gets to help. No enimies and hate constantly around him. His position and surrounding are different. His character thrives with conflict. And he really doesn't mess well with foreign cities. It just doesn't work. It's about 30% writing when u really break down what's going on
@@el34glo59 The fact "there is no conflict and everyone likes him" is in and of itself bad writing. Also he spent the last season back in Westeros with wars going on and he still did nothing.
Nobody liked Tyrion in Essos or in Danys war council.
what makes zero sense about tyrion's plan to siege kings landing is that i think an extended siege that starves out a city would hurt the common people way more than danny burning the red keep and being done.
I'm really excited about Season 8 and being able to watch Alt Shift X's livestreams after each episode for the first time!

So I think Shae in the show truly loved Tyrion, but she was hurt when Tyrion called her a whore, and Cersei forced her to testify. In the books, she never really loved him and was willing to betray him.

Whatever the costuming and makeup department are being paid, it isn't enough. It's crazy to see how Dinklage changes along with his character over the course of the seasons. He goes from looking every bit the lecherous little drunk to the man Varys once referenced: a small man that casts a very long shadow.
Indeed one of my fav characters.
0:28 you're wrong about this though. His loyalty is never in question. It's always with himself and by extension, his family (who, yes, the majority hate him but they also give him power and gold). Last season he even talks about how much killing his father destroys him and you can see how tortured he is by Dany burning through the Lannister forces.

Wouldn't int be great if after the final season someone released individual special cuts of the whole series into a number of (somewhat overlapping) movies. GoT: The Arya Cut, GoT: The Samwell Cut ...
Tyrion's movie would be one of the longest but still under three hours I'd bet.
I'd love to watch those.
I think a fitting end to Tyrion's story would be for him to be the sole surviving member of his house alongside Cersei's child in a "promise me" type scenario. He could protect the Lannister legacy in a manner his father would approve, and also serve Cersei's only redeeming quality: her love for her children.
I’ve only read the books and I knew that the books and show split a lot in season 5, but damn
idk if it's just me, tyrion's story with tysha in the book is the saddest one for me. Probably sadder than the hold the door scene in the series. Tywin is cruel, but his intelligence in politics and warfare made me respect the character, at least.
All characters from these books are pretty awesome and Tyrion is no exception. Peter's interpretation was just outstanding and I will always imagine him as Tyrion Lannister (even in the books to come).
I think Westeros might go into some 'sort of' a Republic or even Oligarchy, before Democracy. End of war, everything's in ruins... yep, that 'wheel' needs to spin around for little while longer... mind you, not the Throne, just the 'wheel'.
I know there are a bunch of important plotlines to wrap up, but in my eyes the most important thing is that they have one more season to tell us what Pod did to those girls.
