90 300zx z32 NA EBAY Short shifter & Z1 bronze bushings upgrade

I took out my old shifter and replaced it with a short shifter. I also changed the bushings to new Z1 motorsports bronze bushings as opposed to the cheap ones included with the shifter.

my shifter was EXACTLY the same as yours in this video, except i fixed and moded my to not only shift crisp and clean again, but ALSO to be a short throw shifter. all without cutting or welding. took about an hr of actual work and best of all. it was 100% free!! =)

I had to use a wrench on each side . I was able to get at them both, but it was not easy. I was by myself when I did it or I could have filmed it.

Sorry man, I just saw this. If you are not feeling any kind of grind, just a hard time finding the gear, it may be the bushings. They break to pieces over time.

Did your short shifter come with a steel spring clip? Not sure where that goes?

hey, nice vid! my Z is experiencing problems selecting first gear from more than 5 mph, believe a short shifter is installed but is it possible that it is worn out? if you could shed any light on the subject i would be extremely grateful! =]

1st gear is only for taking of, you should not shift into first gear while moving
