  • This year, heatwaves have wreaked havoc around the globe. India has not been spared from extreme heat. Slums are ablaze, water is running dry, and heatstroke and dehydration are common ailments.

In recent months, India has been facing unprecedented heat. In New Delhi and parts of Northwestern India, temperatures have been up to ten degrees hotter than usual. Bablu Kumar works as a rickshaw driver in New Delhi. 'I have never experienced such hot days in my life', says Kumar. Like many of the poorest in New Delhi, the heat is impacting him disproportionately: the hotter weather means he must take more work breaks, which in turn impacts his income. Meanwhile, the city is ablaze - with fires caused by electrical overloads, from increased use of air conditioning. Firefighters like Niti Lohchab now receive dozens of calls each day. 'What if something happens to me? Who will take care of my daughter?', asks Lohchab, who has witnessed the deadly impact of house fires first hand. As the sun beats down on New Delhi, water shortages have become the norm - resulting in dehydration.' We don’t get enough water. We can't afford to buy it either. When there’s a shortage of water, there are fights between families', says Delhi resident Ajhmool Sheikh.

Yes, as we all should. Making this world greener will undoubtedly become the mission of the next generation because we failed as we tore up the forests, and scarred our planet by war etc.
I watched a long video on Pakistan and its 50 celsius temperatures and was saddened to despair that the melted glaciers there have changed their geology and economy forever. Families have to steal water just to survive. Drought is forever without the glacier water.
The glaciers will never grow back due to global warming. i would think that might happen in parts of India. The elite don't care. Some of them have even condemned whole communities to die by their decisions. Which is why greed is one of the things that angered Jesus the most. And why most of the rich apparently have little chance of entering heaven. The poor Lazarus's will be the blessed ones.

This might be unpopular but I'll say it either way:
From the movie, I've seen too many people and very few trees living in Indian cities. This should be changed by consciously planting living trees, not painting the roof white!!! Forests regulate the microclimate by reducing temperatures and attracting more rainfalls.

This country does not have proper waste management and the trash is just dumped into landfills like shown in this video. Pollution is a serious issue, public transport facilities are not enough hence people use private transport modes. Global warming is real and Indian government and its people need to seriously take this on an urgent basis. But no one seems to care. A small step would be to plant trees which can absorb high amounts of C02 and would reduce pollution levels significantly. Recycling bottles like Germany does can be significantly helpful. ..this video is simply terrifying..I can't think of another word ..
..it's sinful the way I live in a northern temperate country..it makes me feel so shameful that I can't do anything..
..if I could give 25% of what I earn to that village by the horrifyingly gigantic of an untreated landfill ..I would..
..even if it just meant getting 5,000 bottles of cold, fresh water a day to them..even the dog that way lying in murky poisonous water...it makes you cry just knowing a place like that exist..that poor boy introducing his family..
..how could..shame on the developed world..these billionaires and their foundations..why don't they do something..?..the IMF or World Bank..not to mention, the owner of blackrock..whose worth more then all of china and southeast asia and india combined ...he's saving to big to fail china right now..worth over 10 trillion..I'm sure they contribute but something more has to be done..this living in the streets and abject poverty..it's heartbreaking .
.. places like thia should not exist .not in my world ..and this is his world we're living in..
..the only country w a greater GDP is USA. ..what's chinas GDP..3-4 trillion..a fraction of what they control ..what's going to happen to those ETF s when the board gets too old..why don't they help out where they can ..of course, people throw around the usual names..gates, bezos, jobs(what happened to his money), .musk, walmarts..
..they're nothing compared to blackrock..but they can still pull strings ..instead of throwing around acting like he wanted twitter..just one billion could help out new delhi sooo much .it's mind boggling..
