Joe opens up the Gerber Center Drive multi-tool. This cool tool is an interesting EDC option with its sliding plier head and full sized knife and screwdriver components.
The only big fail are carbide wire cutters that broke immediately. I changed with self made 154cm wire cutters and is a fanatics tool. Not good suited for outdoor or camping, but the best configuration for real work environment. Leathermans are delicates and if not pay attention, you broke it. Gerber centerdrive not broke.
Would have been nice if the bit holder swung all the way around so you can use it as a small driver in tight spaces. I prefer leatherman diamond coated file and would be nice if it had a chisel grind on the end.
I have one. It is a great multitool. The strongest that I have between 7 leatherman and 3 victorinox swisstool. I make a small scratching test and the GERBER chassis steel is A LOT HARDER THAN LEATHERMAN STEEL. I don't no Why becouse both are 420hc but with carbide chesel leatherman surge handles scratch like butter and gerber not scratch!!!

The cutters are Tungsten Carbide which is quite hard, but brittle. I didn’t know you could even make custom cutters, that’s cool 😎

Awesome review, very thorough, great product review.....
The pry bar part where the bottle opener is also a can opener
Glad you said this now because I’m working on the Can Opener Showdown video. I don’t know how well this will open a can but I’ll give it a shot!
Cool

I never thought of trying to scratch the steel, I may have to try that myself
There fairly inexpensive especially compared to the manleather version. I'm needing a new one. I see that now lol
I’ve used it a bit and so far it’s good. Glad to see it after multiple bad experiences with Gerber’s knives 👍
Cutters wont cut a 14awg copper wire
You should stick with fisher price!
