My biggest gripes with the Center-Drive are the lack of a saw and the fact that the wire cutters crack out easily. My go-to is my Victorinox Swiss Tool. Love that thing. Sure, you have to buy the accessory ratchet set to have the bit capability but the Victorinox is the only one that has stuff like the chisel that I use all the time
I have an OG Gerber...bought it at an army surplus store up here. Have to check the model. I also have a little Gerber mutlitool...cost like 15 bucks...handy little thing.
I got REALLY lucky- while looking around at my local walmart last year i saw one of these in the package- but mislabeled as a return and marked down to $49 : )
My favorite multi tool out of all the ones i own is the leatherman arc. With the added bit driver. Then i can use whichever bit i want.
I don't find myself needing pliers terribly often, so I tend towards my SAK Huntsman for the scissors, saw, tweezers, and corkscrew. I do have a Leatherman Bond and Rev for plier needs, and they do come in handy when I need them, but again, those times are seldom.
Been carrying Center drives for years now...in my opinion it is the best multi tool...followed close by the Dual Force

Hey Doc, I've owned the center drive plus for a few years. I the difference between yours and the Plus is: they combined the serrated and flat blade to add the scissors. So it's not really a "plus" but "half plus". Also the carbide wire cutter blades are three sided so you get more use from them. Hope you get well soon.
What’s crazy is in 95 my Air Force Wife was issued a Leatherman (which I have) she also gave me surplus M-9 mags
I bought the sog flash MT to use as an EDC multitool. I hope it will be durable
I actually haven't carried a multi tool in years. I have a few cheap ones. Used to have a Gerber my grandpa gave me when I was 13, but that got lost about 10 years ago.😞 I have been looking at the center drive for a while, but I just haven't pulled the trigger on it.

Check out the dual force. Slip joint pliers . I know it’s Chinese made but I used it on plumbing jobs and worked out phenomenal. Haven’t used any of my leatherman since I got this tool.
I own 2 Gerber multi tools. One full size and a mini Gerber that matches the big one. The big one is in my new go bag and the other stays with me 24/7.

starting to sound almost back to yourself again doc, great to see/hear you on the mend. i gotta say i agree 100% with what you said in this video..... while gerber knives dont use the best materials, and are usually WAY overpriced..... the multi-tools by gerber i think are the best on the market. i have friends who swear by leatherman and a couple other brands, and while none of them are BAD, i feel gerber makes the absolute best
Holtzman’s make some decent multitools that are less expensive. At work I carry a razor knife that has the bit driver.

Hey man, I respect everybody's choices. If they don't like the content, I welcome them to find a chennel that offers them what they are looking for. I hope they find what suits them.
But to publicly bitch and talk about unsubbing is like all the Hollywood types that ranted about moving out of the USA if someone won the election...but stayed right here comfortable and doing the same old thing.
And Leatherman is way overpriced these days, especially for their crappy crappy flat bits.....
