So hyped for this semi final, mainly due to Gåte and Farida. Not only is Gåte - Ulveham my favourite entry in MGP this year, it's my favourite song of the entire national final season, including official entries so far. Festival da Cançao is coming up so who knows if that will change. It's to the point where I (almost) don't want it to win because I don't think I could cope with it not qualifying or doing badly. But really Gåte for the win! Her voice is incredible. Also, nothing wrong with a bit of Evanescence. Farida is coming with a song that is miles better than Dangerous and I really need it to qualify too. Dangerous is now off my playlist but I can see Heartache staying on it forever. For the final place, Mileo/Super Rob & Erika Norwich. My AI is definitely a song that grabs hold of you whether you like it or not, you don't really have a choice. I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing.
Heat 2 is quite good, but my favourite is GOTHMINISTER from the first semi-final and this will not change until the final of MGP. His vocals were on point, the staging was spectacular, "We Come Alive" is insanely catchy and we definitely need dark and alternative art at Eurovision, not only for diversity but because it is pure quality. Gothminister, beyond question!🖤🦇✨️
Gate is definitely my number one (not just this semi but all songs of MGP) but coming in second and third with Super Rob & Erika, along with Mileo. Still excited to see what everyone brings to the stage ☺️
I have a strong feeling that the last three songs will once again go through just like in the first semi-final. Ulveham and My AI seem to be fan favourites and You're Mine is an absolute bop which seems to be pretty popular as well, but who knows! 🙌
Gåte is really loved in Norway, she has very likely the best live voice in Norway and they are so famous for being a good band. We should be so lucky to have them do MGP. They are very good at Norwegian folk elements. The lyric is a very old folk tale. Just wait until you see it live!! ❤
As a long standing fan of Gåte (they are also great live!), Ulveham just makes me want to run naked through the snowy mountains as a true Norwegian. I understand it's not a sound for everyone, but it's the perfect sound for me

First time getting into Eurovision. Listening through the national finals MGP is the most contentious for me! There are so many songs I love from it. The top three from this semi-final are Farida, Gate, and Mileo. Add to those Ingrid and Gothminister from SF1 and KEiiNO and Annprincess from SF3 and that's my top 7.

Can I just say, if you threw Keiino and Margaret in there, I'd be happy with this semi being the actual final. It seems like they jammed so many good songs into this one semi, I am so scared for the results. I have unexpectedly had Farida's song on repeat in my head for days now, and Judge Tenderly of Me just gives me so much peace 🥺 But also, I played Gåte over and over on my discman as a teen, so I'm in trouble for this semi 😭
Good evening Shane! Good to hear you are feeling better now 😊. My favorite in this heat is undoubtedly Gåte "Ulveham". The combination of traditional Norwegian folk music and explosive rock is fantastic! The dynamic in this song is just SO strong. From low-key and mystery to total explosion. And in between components of added vocal elements and interesting instrumentation. When it explodes on the hight it's so powerful and I would have loved to see this on a big stage. It will be interesting to see if what I hear can be transferred well on stage. But they have stage experience, so it's promising. What I like about the song is that I am taken on a musical journey where the most unexpected can happen. It grips you in curiosity and excitement. I didn't know where I was going to be taken musically when I first heard the song. The dynamics, the contrasts and the various integrated elements trigger my musical ear and I love it!! 😊💖 There are no predicted or expected tones here. Elin Kristin's song has grown on me a bit from initially not paying it attention. I'm getting some Bond "Skyfall" vibes from this. Of the more boppy songs, Farida is probably my favorite, I'll let the live performance decide. Really looking forward to this semi final 😊💖
I don’t mind any of these songs, except Touch of V (not my cup of tea), but I think the best choice is Gåte. It stands out in the Eurovision crowd. Was skeptical in the beginning, but it has kept on growing to be at the top of my list. Unfortunately I don’t think your favorite will go through. Then again the live performances will tell. Hopefully to make people forget Mileo, that song is giving "glorifying pathological boyfriend" vibes, I don't like it one bit, although I can't argue with the catchy-ness of the song. This semi will indeed be a blood bath! I want all these songs in the final, and not any from semi 1. Each person in Norway gets only ONE vote in each semi and in the final. For me, it will undoubtedly be Gåte! 😍 «Ulveham» by Gåte has such rich musical elements from traditional Norwegian folk music and culture. The verses are something called «kveding» which is a way of singing in Norwegian folk music (the vokalist has long education and experience in kveding). The lyrics are a very dark and old Norwegian fairy tale, and are in old Norse language. I, as a Norwegian, can’t understand all of it. The chorus is something called «lokking» which directly translated means «luring». It is a way of using our voice to lure the animals back to the farm (sætra) when they were out up in the mountains grazing. Gåte is known as one of the best live bands in Norway and have had pretty spectacular concerts. THIS is my winner this year!!! 🥳 Can’t wait to see it live on saturday! 🤩 I also LOVE Farida! Her voice is amazing and the song is really catchy! I fear the jury would not like the lyrics, as they are very repetetive. They are pretty much the same in both verses and pre-choruses. LOVE Mileo!! I find Touch of Venus exciting and am very curious to see it on stage! Eli Kristin is a well known opera singer here, and we know she can deliver live! I liked your description of Judge Tenderly of Me. Like butter, smooth and silky 🥰 It’s nice. And then there is My AI… I agree with everything you said about it! Ah man, thanks for the shout out again Shane, always appreciate it 😍 And it should come as absolutely no surprise to you that Farida is my favourite here, and actually Mileo is my second favourite, and I am very worried that both are going to miss out. I have already consigned myself to losing one of them cos Gate and My AI are clearly both making it through, but I also think the country duet could sneak in, and whilst I really do enjoy it, I am not ready to lose both Farida and Mileo. I am hoping that Farida has a bit of a fanbase from her previous appearance and hopefully she can bring a really great live performance, cos yeah, I am not gonna be an happy bunny if she ends up getting eliminated this weekend. I am already pretty cheesed off that Semi one was so much weaker compared to Semi 2. Semi 3 is pretty strong too, pretty strong overall quality, without perhaps as many highs as this semi though. As for the others, I do enjoy 'My AI' but it shouldn't be the one they go with as it is even more gimmicky than Subwoolfer. Gate I just don't get at all and I really really really hope it doesn't win MGP as to me it just sounds like noise. 'Judge Tenderly of Me' as I previously mentioned I really do like, it is battling 'My AI' for my 3rd position. And finally I think 'Touch of Venus' is the only one I can say without a doubt I don't think has any chances of making it through, doesn't stand out enough and not really seen anyone talk about it at all.

A lot of people are hating on My AI but all I hear is my song in My AI because it's giving me what the other two or three barbie songs this year aren't giving me. I want a story in a Eurovision song with tons of staging potential and that's why this and Gothminster are my top 2! Erica Norwich CAN indeed sing, - go back to her 2020 song!

This semi is so good, I do like all of these songs! I think all of them could go to the final :) I do think Gåte and Super Rob are locked tho, so its a fight for the last spot. - Gåte is a well known band in Norway. I think they sing in old-norwegian. So yes, mixing rock and traditional! - Erika Norwich is a great singer, and she usually write songs about like deep stuff, and sings in her dialect from Trondheim. Even tho the My AI is good, its kinda sad to see her with a joke act. She has said she sent in one of her songs, but it did not get picked. She confirmed on Snap she will not use autotune, but Rob will. - Eli Kristin is a known pera-singer in Norway. - Anne Fagermo and Dag Erik both competeded in The Voice last year, and came pretty far. Anne has such a beautifull voice. - Farida has such a bop, im scared for her in this semi tho - its too strong. - Mileo is Norwegian-Australian artist - 12 points from the land down under? Its a catchy song for sure.
The vocalist in Ghotminister is a lawyer by profession, within contract law.:) Norway must send this to Eurovision, bye fare the best song, we must have some gothmetal.

I think Eurovision rules this year are allowing vocal effects on voices but not to adjust tuning/pitch. Farida is an absolute earworm and I like it a lot. I feel like My AI is going through but I don’t want it to.

I agree with you about Farida and My AI - I can understand that it is a nostalgic bop with current elements, but we've kind of heard it before, and Shane had a good point about the jury voting. Gåte is much stronger in that sense.
@@Mozzarella-and-Tomato I think so (don't quote me on this as I've not read it in detail) - so they could have reverb, some (limited) vocoder type effects, but no actual changing of the vocal. So if they're off key, they'll still be off key. Gate is my favourite from this heat.

Your top two are my top two as well! But sadly it feels impossible that both will qualify, given the wildly strong semi final they’re in. I’d probably sacrifice Farida, as Mileo has my favourite song in the whole of MGP and I’d be so gutted if it didn’t even get to the final. Definitely the stronger semi out of semi 1 and 2. I quite like Mileo and Farida's songs however I am aware that likely one of them won't make it. Gate's song is alright but not necessarily my taste, My Ai is admittedly fun (I personally prefer it to Subwoolfers song) however Idk how it'll work live, people seem convinced this is qualifying handily which ig it could but I need to see it live.

It's "Gou-teh" rather than "Gait". Apart from that, I feel that semi 2 is stronger than semi 1, and it's sad that a couple of good songs from semi 2 are going to be left out while two bad songs from semi 1 have already progressed.

Hope nobody will bite my head off but I actually don't agree with the mayority that this is a strong semi 🙃. Farida is definitely an earworm and is very radiofriendly. It will do great on the preparties, but on ESC I think it wouldn't be a very noticable song, one of many of this sound and not my favourite. About Gate, if they do a great show with the performance, it might be very very cool and I might like it. But for now, no offense to the fans, it leaves me cold, and that for me, a rocker, is a thing to say. Also, as a huge fan of Evanescence, again no offense to the fans of Gate and sorry for dissagreing with you, this singer's voice doesn't even come near the powerfull and full voice of Amy Lee. Neither there is a male growl here, so don't provoke me Shane 😉😂😘. Moreover, in my humble opinion, the melody of this song is chaotic. Until minute 1.02 I am lost and bored, then the chorus wins me, but then loses me again afterwards. So for me, at first hear, nope. Think i’m heavily in the minority in feeling this Semi is the weakest of the three in terms of songs that make my Green Tier (Only 1)🤷♂️ I would be ‘them people’ Shane, Judge tenderly of me is pure 💤 and comfortably my last place here🤣 We completely agree however on Ulveham, it’s something different with the traditional elements but melodically there isn’t enough to get behind so it just doesn’t leave enough of a impact to warrant the hype i’m seeing… Back to disagreeing in regards to You’re Mine, oh boy I can’t stand this song🤣 Far to in your face and comes across very obnoxious to me. Well, definitely the strongest semifinal. Mileo is my absolute favourite in MGP, I have his song on repeat nonstop, I'm obsessed. Same with Mélovin, Baby Lasagna and... KEiiNO! Curious, because I didn't like at first. But anyway, I hope Mileo and Gåte, my other MGP fave, go through the final, I expected more in the chorus of Gåte's song, but well. I know everybody loves "My AI", but I can't with it, I just can't. But it will be in the final for sure. This semi will indeed be a blood bath! I want all these songs in the final, and not any from semi 1. Each person in Norway gets only ONE vote in each semi and in the final. For me, it will undoubtedly be Gåte! 😍
«Ulveham» by Gåte has such rich musical elements from traditional Norwegian folk music and culture. The verses are something called «kveding» which is a way of singing in Norwegian folk music (the vokalist has long education and experience in kveding). The lyrics are a very dark and old Norwegian fairy tale, and are in old Norse language. I, as a Norwegian, can’t understand all of it. The chorus is something called «lokking» which directly translated means «luring». It is a way of using our voice to lure the animals back to the farm (sætra) when they were out up in the mountains grazing. Gåte is known as one of the best live bands in Norway and have had pretty spectacular concerts. THIS is my winner this year!!! 🥳 Can’t wait to see it live on saturday! 🤩
I also LOVE Farida! Her voice is amazing and the song is really catchy! I fear the jury would not like the lyrics, as they are very repetetive. They are pretty much the same in both verses and pre-choruses.

And it should come as absolutely no surprise to you that Farida is my favourite here, and actually Mileo is my second favourite, and I am very worried that both are going to miss out. I have already consigned myself to losing one of them cos Gate and My AI are clearly both making it through, but I also think the country duet could sneak in, and whilst I really do enjoy it, I am not ready to lose both Farida and Mileo.
I am hoping that Farida has a bit of a fanbase from her previous appearance and hopefully she can bring a really great live performance, cos yeah, I am not gonna be an happy bunny if she ends up getting eliminated this weekend. I am already pretty cheesed off that Semi one was so much weaker compared to Semi 2. Semi 3 is pretty strong too, pretty strong overall quality, without perhaps as many highs as this semi though.
As for the others, I do enjoy 'My AI' but it shouldn't be the one they go with as it is even more gimmicky than Subwoolfer. Gate I just don't get at all and I really really really hope it doesn't win MGP as to me it just sounds like noise. 'Judge Tenderly of Me' as I previously mentioned I really do like, it is battling 'My AI' for my 3rd position. And finally I think 'Touch of Venus' is the only one I can say without a doubt I don't think has any chances of making it through, doesn't stand out enough and not really seen anyone talk about it at all.

I love your taste, Farida’s song is a BANGER, and “You’re Mine” is great too. And we might lose both, what a waste of good bops. Thankfully my favorite of all is Gåte. They’re going through, and will win MGP I think. Ulveham is more about raw emotion than melody they gonna slay live.

A lot of people are hating on My AI but all I hear is my song in My AI because it's giving me what the other two or three barbie songs this year aren't giving me. I want a story in a Eurovision song with tons of staging potential and that's why this and Gothminster are my top 2! Erica Norwich CAN indeed sing, - go back to her 2020 song!

This semi is stacked, My top 3 in order are Mileo, Farida then My Ai. I think My Ai and Gate will go through whilst Farida and Mileo will fight for the 3rd spot which I don't want to lose either of them 💛
This semi is so good, I do like all of these songs! I think all of them could go to the final :)
I do think Gåte and Super Rob are locked tho, so its a fight for the last spot.
- Gåte is a well known band in Norway. I think they sing in old-norwegian. So yes, mixing rock and traditional!
- Erika Norwich is a great singer, and she usually write songs about like deep stuff, and sings in her dialect from Trondheim. Even tho the My AI is good, its kinda sad to see her with a joke act. She has said she sent in one of her songs, but it did not get picked. She confirmed on Snap she will not use autotune, but Rob will.
- Eli Kristin is a known pera-singer in Norway.
- Anne Fagermo and Dag Erik both competeded in The Voice last year, and came pretty far. Anne has such a beautifull voice.
- Farida has such a bop, im scared for her in this semi tho - its too strong.
- Mileo is Norwegian-Australian artist - 12 points from the land down under? Its a catchy song for sure.

I agree with you about Farida and My AI - I can understand that it is a nostalgic bop with current elements, but we've kind of heard it before, and Shane had a good point about the jury voting. Gåte is much stronger in that sense.
@@Mozzarella-and-Tomato I think so (don't quote me on this as I've not read it in detail) - so they could have reverb, some (limited) vocoder type effects, but no actual changing of the vocal. So if they're off key, they'll still be off key.

Oh dear....this is where i diverge enormously from the fandom. I don't really vibe with any of these songs except "Judge Tenderly of Me". I like this more gentle of sounds and would love to see it make the final but I'm realistic enough to doubt if that is a possibility

Your top two are my top two as well! But sadly it feels impossible that both will qualify, given the wildly strong semi final they’re in. I’d probably sacrifice Farida, as Mileo has my favourite song in the whole of MGP and I’d be so gutted if it didn’t even get to the final. He feels like a cross between Jann from Poland and Jone from last year’s MGP, both of whom had two of my favourite songs of the whole season, so naturally I adore You’re Mine.

Definitely the stronger semi out of semi 1 and 2. I quite like Mileo and Farida's songs however I am aware that likely one of them won't make it. Gate's song is alright but not necessarily my taste, My Ai is admittedly fun (I personally prefer it to Subwoolfers song) however Idk how it'll work live, people seem convinced this is qualifying handily which ig it could but I need to see it live.

It's "Gou-teh" rather than "Gait". Apart from that, I feel that semi 2 is stronger than semi 1, and it's sad that a couple of good songs from semi 2 are going to be left out while two bad songs from semi 1 have already progressed.

Hope nobody will bite my head off but I actually don't agree with the mayority that this is a strong semi 🙃.
Farida is definitely an earworm and is very radiofriendly. It will do great on the preparties, but on ESC I think it wouldn't be a very noticable song, one of many of this sound and not my favourite.
About Gate, if they do a great show with the performance, it might be very very cool and I might like it. But for now, no offense to the fans, it leaves me cold, and that for me, a rocker, is a thing to say.
Also, as a huge fan of Evanescence, again no offense to the fans of Gate and sorry for dissagreing with you, this singer's voice doesn't even come near the powerfull and full voice of Amy Lee. Neither there is a male growl here, so don't provoke me Shane 😉😂😘.
Moreover, in my humble opinion, the melody of this song is chaotic. Until minute 1.02 I am lost and bored, then the chorus wins me, but then loses me again afterwards. So for me, at first hear, nope.

Well, definitely the strongest semifinal. Mileo is my absolute favourite in MGP, I have his song on repeat nonstop, I'm obsessed. Same with Mélovin, Baby Lasagna and... KEiiNO! Curious, because I didn't like at first. But anyway, I hope Mileo and Gåte, my other MGP fave, go through the final, I expected more in the chorus of Gåte's song, but well. I know everybody loves "My AI", but I can't with it, I just can't. But it will be in the final for sure. Otherwise, I'm afraid Mileo won't make it to the final, I mean, the lyrics are quite creepy and maybe some people can't connect with them, but please, Noweigians, if you read this, please, vote a lot for him, I beg you!!🙏
