      I’m sure his handlers put him up to it. Forget about him being a mystic mormon the man is a freemason. Don’t get me started on jesuit Jonathan or how they’re literally fulfilling prophecy merging the end times religions, or how this entire show is seducing people under enchantment with spell casting and back masking. The great falling away has definitely happened. It’s sad to see so many of you lukewarm reprobates have absolutely zero discernment whatsoever 😞

    Thanks, Dallas. My husband and I lived in South Florida for 30 years and had many transplanted NYC Jewish friends. When we first watched the lively discussion between Jesus & John the Baptist, we chuckled and said, "Hey, it's like South Florida again!" We loved our Jewish friends' vigorous and often hilarious debates. We 100% got it when you portrayed Jesus & John in a verbal jousting match and weren't offended at all. I saw the scene where Jesus was going over the sermon on the mount with Matthew as a chance for Jesus to spend some time with Matthew. Knowing he's one to journal things, He (in this portrayal) was giving Matthew a preview of the sermon. But mostly, if you watch Matthew, it was obviously touching and blessing Matthew in a more personal way than if he just saw it during the sermon's real time. Jesus loved all the disciples and I'm sure that He spent personal time with each one of them. Jesus was most likely a very busy man. Why not include each disciple here and there on things that he needed to do. Plus, since Jesus WAS fully man, why not consider that He felt the need to clear His head and organize His thoughts about the sermon? I loved that scene! And as for Mary Magdalene backsliding, we all backslide? Whether that happened to Mary or not, we need to see a scene like that and see how Jesus allowed her back in the fold. That scene was for my/our benefit. I know we need to be discerning about representations of our faith, but some people forget to relax and think through what you (The Chosen) might be trying to get across.

    • @NESShadows
      @NESShadows Před rokem +1

      Very well said, to say that people will never sin again after becoming a Christian seems silly when we need to seek God daily and we’re still human. That doesn’t mean to seek out sin or test the waters with it, we shouldn’t dance with temptation, we need to truly lean on His understanding. And others should ask the question to themselves, if God is willing to forgive everything you’ve done to this point, wouldn’t He also forgive if you had a problem later on if you truly repent? We’re not perfect, not even as Christians because we are still human, but we should work on ourselves daily and grow spiritually, and imitate Jesus throughout our lives (in both public and private) because that’s what it means to be Christian, it comes from the words that literally mean “Christ-like”. I have seen people in a church harshly judge an individual at church who wasn’t dressed very nicely and still smelled of alcohol. They were gossiping about this person and saying how they don’t belong there. As if we can decide who’s worthy? Are we somehow better than others or more deserving of salvation than others? I would say not even by a bit. Salvation is for everyone and I believe as a Christian, we should be spreading love and His message to all. Whether they decide to listen or ignore, or even verbally attack us or spit in our faces, they deserve the opportunity just like anyone else. I have felt hopeless and ashamed when I was bonded by a sinful addiction and thought I would never be able to come back from it. Now I’m picking back up the pieces and feel more determined than ever to follow Christ. A lot of times I think back to the Apostle, Paul, and I think many should read the Books in the Bible he wrote. I have cried my eyes out when I realized just how much my thoughts or concerns felt addressed and understood, not just in those passages, but all throughout the Bible. God is good all the time 🙏🏼 God bless you and all others!

      Is that Jesus of the bible? Watching Jesus on the screen will add to nothing at the judgement seat. You might watch this show and not even know Jesus Christ.
      I am convinced that most people who call themselves know religion instead of Jesus Christ. Or they have created their own God in their head. That is why we must make sure that we know the God of the bible and know that we are truly saved.
      Lay religion, Christian culture, and even politics aside. Someone who truly loves you is reaching out to you not willing that you should perish (2 Peter3), but that you be saved from the price of your sins.
      With that said, how do you deal with your sin? Yes you. How many times have you lied, lusted, or stolen? I'm guilty, what about you? I hope you feel convicted.
      But if you're going to reject the free gift of salvation, you ought to think about where you are going after death.
      Is this your mindset?
      Luke 12:19
      Please please do not be this person that Jesus described here. I don't care how if you are in a ministry or even behind a pulpit. And their is no shame in getting saved.
      Matthew 7
      21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
      22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
      23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
      You see there will be professing Christians that were not actually saved.
      I want to help you.
      Matthew 18:3
      "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."
      Because of God's holiness we cannot be in his presence as we are in our sin. No matter how righteous one may appear everyone has sinned and one sin can lead to hell, but there is a way out. We don't deserve it but God made a way that we may become the righteousness of God (Romans 5). I want you to have 100% assurance of salvation.
      Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
      John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
      John 14
      6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
      ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
      Romans 6
      23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
      1 John 1:9 - If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
      1Corinthians 15:
      1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
      2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
      4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
      Romans 10
      9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
      10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
      11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
      12For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13For WHOSOEVER shall CALL upon the name of the Lord shall be SAVED.
      Here is the gospel straight and simple:
      1. Truly acknowledge that you have sinned against a perfect God and you are worthy of hell that can only be saved by the blood of Jesus Christ
      2. Believe that Jesus died for and covered all of your sins and rose again.
      3. Say to God that Jesus Christ he is your saviour.
      Please let me know. I am praying for you, today is the day of salvation.
      2 Corinthians 5:17
      “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

    Has none of these critics ever seen the Prince of Egypt?? The one with Val Kilmer and Sandra Bullock? That was an adaptation on the story of the Book of Exodus, and that movie didn't fully adhere to Scripture either. And yet it still holds up so well over 2 and a half decades later. Why? Because it captured the spirit, the drama, the action, and the essence of the original story in an incredible way. Plus, the big scenes of Moses fleeing Egypt, meeting God at the Burning Bush, the Plagues, parting the Red Sea, those were all masterfully well-done, and Scripturally sound. From what I can gather, hardly anyone has raised the same level of criticism for that movie the way they do of the Chosen now.

    How Jesus is depicted in the series is how I always imagined Him to be-do we really think he was like a statue in church? He most likely had to be and is magnetic, charismatic, warm, wise, brilliant, charming-He drew people to Him and always will. I never imagined Him as one dimensional and pontificating all of the time. I truly believe the Chosen depicts Him most closely to how He was and is and always will be. I especially appreciate seeing him ethnically as a Middle Eastern man as I think the Actor has those origins. To me, this is the definitive Jesus, at least as far as portrayals of Him have been presented.

    Excellent way to address some of the issues people have with the show. I personally didn't have any misgivings on these five and I feel the explanations Dallas gives here are spot on. A character doing something in a show doesn't necessarily mean the show endorses it. As we all know, Peter could be a hot head and was usually an all or nothing kind of guy, often sticking hi foot in his mouth. And as strong as John's personality was he undoubtedly clashed with people, even Jesus to a degree. Oddly enough I have seen some of my own traits in John's portrayal in this show and that makes it immensely more relatable. Keep up the amazing work you guys. For me, I think that you and your staff are brilliant. Ye'shua has never been presented in this way. You have brought Him to life in many ways. I believe many more people are coming to know Ye'shua because of this project (though I would prefer to call it a ministry if you'll permit me that. A project is something people do in their spare time to entertain themselves.) I do find it humorous that everybody thinks they know what's best, that they know what it was like in the first century. When your Bible scholars sat together and decided on something I don't have a problem with it. They are definitely more well-read than I am. But when you're watching something exercise a little bit of discernment - decide for yourself as you're watching the show you don't have to get angry. Would Jesus do that? Would he be upset at how he's depicted or he just be happy that he's in more people's hearts than he was before and more bibles are being opened than before? Thanks Dallas. 🙏

    ...and you have noted since the beginning of the show that you have taken some artistic license. You have always been very clear that this is not word for word from scriptures and not a replacement of scripture. I am very happy about that because there are already other shows and recordings that do that. The Chosen is fleshing out the stories and portraying them in interesting and engaging ways, and at the same time remaining authentic to the central truths. We can all find a scene or two that we think we would do differently, but you are the one God entrusted this project to. I certainly will not be writing or directing any TV series. Overall, I love the Chosen and love that you have remained humble, letting God guide the process. They were human beings encountering the history-changing realities for the first time! They didn’t know who John the Baptist was in the fullest sense, they didn’t know exactly what the messiah was there to do, and they certainly had no idea of the Trinity. They were encountering these things, ultimately being changed by them, and then eventually recording their experiences, so that we would know. I think you are doing an amazing job!

    Loved the end of S2. Took my breath away when he opened those curtains and all the people slowly sat down. Geez people get hung up on the small stuff and miss the beauty. Keep up the good work!

    It's nice that you take viewers concerns into consideration and explain where you're coming from and no doubt learn how to better cover scenes for the future. I've always remembered that you said this (wonderful) show is not a substitute for scripture but some viewers forget that. Jesus is perfect, any show about Him can never be. Can't wait for next season.

    This will be the biggest project you'll ever do. The pressure on you must be insane. Stay in prayer, and do your best. You've done great so far.

    I agree with others comments and what is so emotionally moving in your shows/videos is portraying the humanness of all the characters. I really like your explanations of your thought process in why you portrayed or had the script written as you did. I agree that in some watchers comments and your replies that people learn by debate and the working out of issues. What really bothers me about some peoples negative comments about the show is actually saying and doing what the Pharisees were doing in the strict law and not showing grace and love that is the reason Jesus comes in the first place. I also know that some people cannot see the great good of the show because they cannot except one small part they don't agree with. It is sad and they loose out on so much good of the show.

    Dallas, you are so patient to answer peoples’ concerns. I do hope most are just curious about the creative thought process while giving you (and your writing team ) the benefit of the doubt, as a brother, and a pure-hearted artist.
