She knocked it out of the park! I was distracted at some points by how stunning the clothes were. I couldn’t get over Alina’s final outfit.

Having graduated with a degree in fashion, seeing characters visually represented through their costumes brings me so much joy. There is something so satisfying about designing clothes from books and adding hidden details so subtle only true fans notice them. I would love to work in costume design one day, so fascinating.
I LOVE the amount of detail that goes into this series. The costumes, the backgrounds, even the lampposts and paintings in the blurry background looked like they fit. One of the best art direction's I'd seen.
and yet. the show only got 50.000.000 million views. I am afraid it wont be renewed :(
Putting Kit Young (Jesper Fahey) in a kilt was a genius idea, he absolutely killed it!
2500 new costumes?!? Wow. And that's on top of the antique and other pieces they had. They really looked gorgeous on screen.

i was blown away by the improvement in production value in season 2!! you can tell the cast and crew genuinely love working on the show and it comes through beautifully :)
Can we just all agree how fabulous Kit/Jesper looked in that kilt!
And yes, there were obviously many more great outfits!
I’m glad the fashion designers got recognition. The costumes, specially the Komedie Brute and Keftas were so detailed and amazing. Straight out of the book.
I simply can’t get enough of this show and it’s so nice to see that everyone behind the scenes cares about all the details just as much as the fans

I love how every detail of these costumes were in-character, down to every last thread! It really brings it all together, and makes this incredible world feel more real, without taking away from the fantasy elements that we all love so much
Exactly! The costumes are real and authentic for each character which make grishaverse feels real too
This season was incredible! Characters felt more fleshed out, my brothers and mom who haven't read the books were able to understand what was going on with a few questions.
My sister in law asked if this was a historical fiction series. Said that surely some of the more detailed clothes must have been borrowed from a museum. LOL! Netflix is noticing that fans and new viewers are drawn into the Grishaverse! We want to see more!!! Can't wait till they announce filming from season 3!

And one of my favorite things about this show is the costumes/clothes. It's always so beautiful!
Such meticulous work, they upped their game in the costume department even more. I loved all the clothing choices. Especially tolas, Nikolai's, the darklings and genyas clothes. Their clothing choices went along with their plotline and character development beautifully. Not to mention the saint's clothing. Goosebumps.
But costumes are so important to setting up a universe and it was brilliantly done here!!
Come on Netflix. Give us a full series of Inside the Shadow and Bone. This show deserves it. ❤❤❤

It’s very fascinating how some scenes reminded me of the Chinese dramas, fantasy shows and European period dramas I grew up watching. Alina’s military outfit also reminded me of Oscar from The Rose Of Versailles and VIXX’s The Closer outfits.
Love how much meaning and effort went into the wardrobe. I'm gonna go back and rewatch season 2 just to catch these details again

I love how the costumes are reminiscent of cultures and periods of history in our own world and yet at the same time clearly not of our world.
the amount of work and attention to detail that goes into the making of this show is INSANE! i’m so thankful to all the people involved in the making of shadow & bone for worrying about everything and making every little thing be perfect! hopefully we’ll see more of these beautiful costumes in a future season 3🙏🏽
Hell yeah the costume and the set design are truly out of this world! I want to pause and zoom in to look at each individual clothes, wanna feel those different texture on my fingertips, so good. And the prop, the set? Wow. Just wow. 👏👏👏
The kefta's are my favorite. And I noticed right away that they did change the kefta's for the one's with the Darkling.
Can't wait for season 3!

I love the costumes so much, they created such distinctive and iconic looks and really captured the spirit of the books. The keftas are literal perfection. And Nina's bustle dress was my favourite part of season 2

A work that deserves to be commended. The costumes are breathtaking in this second season as in the first. I had a crush on the Kefta in season 1 and in season 2, it's for Alina's outfits and those in Novi Zem.

So glad this video exists! The costumes of Shadow & Bone are a true highlight! (And, I want to purchase Alina's red jacket from the Sea Whip scenes! I would wear that every day!)
I like the keftas and wished i could see Alina in her blue kefta again for season 2, outside the mind palace. Her queen's crown was gorgeous and suited her marvelously.

Alina and Mal's teal and rust colors are also the colors of the butterflies and flowers that Wylan calls "a little love story".
Some gorgeous costumes. I really liked how the kaftan changed, even if my favorites are from S1, these convey so much storytelling wise. I was already tempted to make one, this season has revitalized that
Jesper in a kilt was something I NEEDED
I hope at one point Jesper wears something from his mother’s heritage, African clothing is so colorful and would suit him based on his style in the books.
FINALLY they made me understand where Jesper's skirt come from!

Also shout out to all of the set design and makeup artists that went above and beyond to make this show insanely immersive. I've never seen a show so accurately and unashamedly show characters who got beat up in episode 2 still have bruising in episode 8 👏👏 amazing!

It bothers me so much when English speakers don't bother to properly read and pronounce an unfamiliar word x) Every time they pronounce Volkvolny as Vovony - I wouldn't know what they're speaking of without subtitles. It's such a simple word with literally every letter pronounced AS IS because it's just 2 ru words "Volk"- wolf & "volny"- free 🤡
Except ru "volny" mean waves not free. At least it's what wiki says
@@lenakataeva7525 yeah, that also might be an option, that depends on how you pronounce the L, the ending and where you put the emphasis. It's kinda hard to explain in writing, but "volny" as in "free" has a soft L, y as "yi" and stress on "o" and "volny" as in "of the wave" has hard L, hard y and stress on "y" .
AND AGAIN- they pronounce it as neither x) I guessed it was "free" because they stress the "o" , but as it's a ship your version is more likely and I don't remember what was the translation in the book.
And honestly, after the books translated "Dva stolba" as "Two mills" and not "Two pillars" it shows that Leigh didn't want to create a semi-ru language, just used existing words and changed the meaning without any regard for people who know the language and would be extremely confused why children-appropriate summer drink "kvas" is suddenly hard liquor x)
