I've always wondered how much extra power someone could get from an amplifier with a Brazilian based design. The parts inside these Brazilian amplifiers are designed for considerably more power than they put out. I can't wait to see what is restricting these amplifiers.

Hello. You are missing one thing in your channel! You are ONLY hunting for amplifiers with the most wstt! You test almost only BASS amplifiers. You build a lot of car stereo for DB. competition! What about sound quality? Midrange and treble and crossover and car audio players? That's what you're missing in your youtube channel! I miss it! It gets a bit boring with only amplifying watt test!

This was a great video, and a great break down and explanation by Sam. Crazy to think Audiopipe ripped off a design and screwed it up by using a cheap PCB. It did really well until it had to try and move too many amps of current around the board. Too bad it couldn't keep up that 90% efficiency and failed the output test @ 1 ohm
I'm sure they were hoping people would think it performed exactly the same as the original amp. But it's an Audiopipe so of course it's made as cheap as possible!

I follow Sam's channel ( and yours for years) and really like both. As a viewer, I am delighted to see this collar happening and hope it continues. Derek, as for why this amp is Full Range and why it fits to the Brazilian scene, is mentioned but not explained. I am of the belief that its because in Brazil and Latin America they are into DB races, not with bass but with total DB. Mostly what you see are loudness rallies. If you need noise, you can simply use 2 or maybe even just 1 and properly crossed over and pump @k into the midrange. You see next to the Taramps, brands like Timpano. Awww it hurts just to think of it. Let me know if you agree.

the MOSFETs (or JFETs i guess) are a transistor based product so it scales over time like computer CPUs do. also I believe a lot of the 50w era were known as cheater amps because they had advanced to do way more than rated, but just stuck to calling it 50w.
Jule Rulez I know it does seem like I do. I mean us as in us guys in our 40s who had to spend $399 to get 100watt x 1 amp for max thumpin
mrlithium hmmm interesting. I mean these tests are crazy to me! It was literally $5-10/watt for amps back in the early 90s. It’s insane! Is this amp going to catch on fire after an hour? Is it good for 10min and that’s it???
Joe's Shows I always think of back in the day prices when I watch Dereks vids. Lol back in the day for 1k watts you was paying $2000-$3000 or more lol so this amp putting out almost 2500 watts for $250 seems pretty good to me. Lol
@@briankt69 try an sfb 3000 amp and you will forget about this amp completely. Sfb3000 amp puts out rated wattage and they cost about the same thing.

If I were starting my own car audio amplifier company, Sam would be my first hire. Next level skills.
I would love to see what it would do with mods done to it! Also, the box says it's 16v capable. Maybe that's their way of saying it needs to be run at 16v in order to get RMS power out of it?

I don't know BigD even 2000 watts at that price range ain't too bad, the more I see you testing these full bridge amps the more I think about swapping out my Skar RP2k just cause it's a smaller footprint with the same power and I drive a standard cab truck with a blowthru so space is limited. great video and keep up the good work 🤙

I've been a car audio enthusiast since the 80s when a pioneer supertunerll and a swap meet Evergreen 500watt EQ was the shizz!! 🤣 nowadays with online shopping and very knowledgeable people like yourself along with these videos sure help a guy build a system that beats with equipment that's been tested and certified

Big D! Do you know why you have "issues" with some power tests? Like in this video, the 1ohm loaded 1kHz standard certified test for example. Do you think it is an issue with the amp dyno or an issue with the amplifier? I have seen these phenomenon on some other amps/videos as well, they pop up occasionally. You know what's up wit dat? Your videos are super fun appreciate you & the channel.

Audiopipe makes good products. I used their 3-way crossover in my Corvette to split midbass, midrange, and tweet freq.
On these types of amps you can use 4ga if a short run, such as form a fused distribution block. As long as full copper wiring. I normally hook these type of amps such as the taramps hd 3000 with 4ga welding cable, no issue. If this direct from the battery to the amp then 0 gauge adapter is recommended.
