I love this idea! I am part of a group that paints rocks and hides them for people to find! I like that this is quick and easy! I like to put sayings on my rocks, but have a hard time painting words and this is a great way to add sayings or pretty words to my rocks! Thank you for this fun tutorial!
You are so welcome! YES!! Now you can just print them out and paint/glue them right on and Voila!! Have fun and thank you for stopping by today! xoxo Jen
Hi Debbie, please tell me about your rock painting group. I would love to start one.
Tatoo transfers that have script writing work well on solid painted rocks, if you also seal afterwards works best! Check out at craft shops. 😉 Hope that helps
❤
Great idea! I’ve just printed 40 designs for rocks I’m going to hide round Newcastle! I found that putting a layer of PVA glue on the back of the image too helped to make it stick better to the rock 🙌
Sounds great! I totally agree with the layer behind! Thank you for the comment. I appreciate you watching! xoxo Jen
It’s so cute! The bubbles really completes it!!!
Mod podge, for the win! Love the tissue transfer idea! My youngest now just old enough for rock art. Thanks for the vid! 😊
Thank you so very much for letting me know this was helpful to you! I hope you've been able to make some wonderful things! Post them to the group if you feel like joining. You're invited! facebook.com/groups/482869948452165/

Super! I just know you'll have a great time and you can put your own original art on your rocks as well using this method. If you have an image you're super proud of, scan it in and put it on rocks, candle holders, all sorts of things! xoxo Jen TFW!

Thanks Mary! xoxo Jen
thanks jen learnt a lot from you today
Hi Ann! I'm super glad to hear it! Have fun with your art! xoxo Jen
*So adorable, especially adding those bubbles!!*
I've been following a lady on CZcams, she only uses beautiful napkins & tissue wrapping paper with mod podge. Sigh. I can't think of her name. She creates some lovely items.
Instead of printing an image onto the napkin & paper, she purchases all the gorgeous packs of napkins, (the type we use at birthday & house warming parties)
tears the part out that she wants to be seen on item, gently *separates the two layers of napkin away from each.* She'll then proceed to do what you did, ONLY using the one layer with print on it.
I asked her once, "Why not just fussy cut the image out?" She said it'll give it the item a totally different look if that was done.
I'll try to locate her name, OR a good example of her videos, & add it above.
I'd have NEVER thought of any of these things.
I was happy to see you & your tutorial on my notification list last night.
Thank you, Jen. :-)
Have a lovely day. ♡
Thanks bunches! I've heard of using the napkins before as well, I just am not a collector of napkins! lol I love that I can use my original art on my rocks! xoxo Jen
Jen Evers
Yes! You own art!
Doesn't get much better than that.
The lady I'm speaking of, she has *thousands of packs of napkins!!* Just imagine.
Have a nice day, Jen.
:-)
D Hoosier .....No need to cry.....is her name...I love love her stuff
Is it the youtuber- Patioelf? She does strictly decoupage and she does it on all sorts of things!

Yeah, I happened across those bubbles maybe at a garage sale. No idea where it came from. xoxo Jen TFW!!

Love this. Do not have a printer but I have a lot of napkins with small images that I am going to try. Fun all the way.
Great thinking! I'm sure I have some napkins that were gifted to me. I really like using my own images! This was tons of fun! xoxo Jen TFW!

Hey June, thank you for the nice thoughtful comment! xoxo Jen
Useful information
Amazing Piece
Thank you so much :) xoxo Jen
So cute!
Thank you! :) xoxo Jen
I use Varathane brand Polyurethane (water based - so it dries non sticky!) to seal my rocks to leave outdoors. A lot of people who paint rocks then leave the treasures around public areas for others to find and enjoy. Great idea Jen. Thanks for sharing!
Sounds good! Thanks for letting me know what you use! I'm not sure I'll be putting them outdoors yet, but you never know! xoxo Jen
starwolf539
I've never heard of that product. Is it more expensive, OR less, than standard mod podge?
Thank you!
I got a 1/2 pint of it from my local home improvement for under $3. I use it to seal rocks, beads, paintings, etc. I bought it last year and I still have a few ounces lefts to it goes really far!
Real neat.! Nice job.....
Laurie Richard - starwolf539 If you use this product for sealing painted rocks, do they hold up in the outdoor elements without pealing or fading.
Very, very cute!
Thank you! xoxo Jen
Adorable!
Thanks Bonnie!! xoxo Jen
Very cool
Thank you !! xoxo Jen
Love this!! We are painting rocks to! There everywhere here!! In Kentucky!! One of my rocks traveled to West Virginia! I also use my heat gun to speed up the drying process! So Fun!
How do you know where they travel to? Do you put something on it? Thanks for letting me know! xoxo Jen
Jen Evers yes! Each county in the state. Has a Facebook page/ group. If they are participating in the paint and hide a rock. On the back you put your group name. Or you county and state. Ever who finds it takes a picture of it and post it to that group. Then you rehide it for someone else to find to brighten there day. Spreading happiness and fun!
My group is #rocknbc. My near by group also is mt.sterling ky rocks. I'm in Kentucky. On Facebook. Search them and you'll see a lot of people doing it around the United States. Some of local people's rocks has hit Florida, Illinois and Texas, several different places. It's neat watching them travel!
So Cute!
Thanks! xoxo Jen
Super cute Jen! Tfs. Hugs, Debbie
Aww, thanks Debbie! Happy to see you today! xxo Jen
super cute!
Thanks Diann! :) xoxo Jen Hugs!
Maybe you can use an artist fixative on the tissue image to eliminate the bleeding of the color.
Jen, I am in love with your video!! Going to have a craft night with my grandkids!! I was wondering if anyone has tried to print photos, (like a family photo) and put it on a rock? I wanted to do this for my kids for Christmas and put their family photos on some bigger rocks? Would love to hear from anyone that may have tried that?????
Thank you so much Terry! Have a blast! You can print anything you like on there! Family photos would work well too :) Give it a try!! Also, I'd like to personally invite you to our drama free and commitment free group on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/482869948452165/ A great place for you to show off your work and lots of friendly ladies in there! xoxo Jen
Sooooo cute!
Thank you! Much appreciated! xoxo Jen
So nice. 😀
Thank you! oxo Jen
I think if you tear the edges they disappear better into the background. Cute idea 💡
Thanks for the tip! xoxo Jen
You can also just "cut" with water....paint a line of water around the area you want to cut the tissue and it will tear very nice and thin!
My girls when they were at school made these, and I still have them 30 yrs later. X Ros
How cool is that?! What designs did they use? Post a pic in KTC if you're in our group. Or join! Here is a link: facebook.com/groups/482869948452165/?ref=br_rs xoxo Jen
You had me at “dining room I mean Art Studio”! 😂 Gorgeous end result. New happy subbie from Scotland 🏴 sending best wishes 😊
Thanks for subbing! I appreciate that :) xoxo Jen
That is so adorable and I saw on a different channel about painting rocks and putting kind messages or pictures like you did they out them at parks etc. around town for others to find and I actually have a family me Meer in Massachusetts that has found 3 just an idea xoxo
How neat! I've not done that yet, but I hear it's going around! I have heard of geocaching though, that sounds similar! xoxo Jen
Hello Jen :) This was a fun project :) Your art studio is anywhere you create :) If your tear the tissue paper instead of cutting it, then the edges blend in a bit better :) Your little guy is soooo cute :) The touches of blue at the end were just the perfect finishing touch :) I loved painting rocks when I was a kid :) tfs, and I hope you have an Outstanding Day :) amy
Hi Amy! Thank you bunches for the wonderful tip on the tissue paper! I had never painted rocks before. I found it really fun! I may do a few for my outside garden, but I"ll buy bigger ones! xoxo Jen
Nice to hear about your "art studio"....mine is also a dining room!
I'm in the unfinished basement of our new house. Any place can be your art studio if that's what you choose to call it! xoxo hugs! Jen
Hi Jen just catching up it's so difficult when i have subs to a lot of channels!!. Anyway thank you i brought some rocks home from a store for my grandchildren to paint so this will help .Thanks love from the UK x
Happy week Jules! I know! I have a lot of channels I'm subbed to as well and I just don't have enough time in the day to watch them all! I'm super glad and appreciative that you're still watching! Hugs! xoxo Jen
This is so cool. I can't wait to try this. I have my rocks. I got them from my sister's landscaping ha ha ha lol lol. Another great video. Tfs xoxo
Thanks Jennie! I might hit up a landscape place to find more that are flatter, but, I too, took them from the landscaping! :) The squirrels are doing more damage than me so I'm not too worried! lol TFW and commenting! xoxo Jen hugs!
Jen Evers so awesome now I don't feel so bad. Lol lol xoxooo
This is absolutely adorable! Seems like a fun craft! Definitly going to give this a chance 😊 Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
You're videos look so nice! Love the edits ❤ I can see you have improved 😉
Thanks so much Mae! It was very nice of you to take time to give me some positive feedback. Have a super day! xoxo Jen
I am IN LOVE with that rock!!! I've started painting rocks.. but I love this idea! How did I miss this video?? :D
Hey girl!! I've so missed you!! How have you been?! Send me your address if you'd like this rock. I'll send it to ya. :)
Happy to see you! xxoo Jen
Aww that is super sweet of you! Thank you. I've been around. Just not making videos right now. I've lost my camera and even if I knew where it was.. my set up is not just where it needs to be right now. I hope to have things figured out by the new year at the very latest. I'll send you my address via facebook :D
wow..that is so cute and hopefully easy to do ..O:..thank You !!..(:..I have milion ideas in my head now ...(:
That's the ticket! I love to inspire! xoxo Jen TFW!!
Cut out pieces of fabric works wonderful as well..... there are so many cute prints out there to use. Kids prints of cartoon characters etc. I cut very close to the edge of the design, mod podge the rock first, place fabric, smooth out. once dry I put another layer of mod podge...... very fast project
Super! xoxo Jen
My "art studio" is a closet. If you make art in it, it's a studio.
Thank you so much for that Patrice!! It lets me know someone was truly watching! lol hugs!! xoxo Jen
I totally agree...
... just like my car is my purse.
PRECIOUS
Thank you Judy!! xoxo Jen
What a Great⚘Idea! 🤔 Made me think of putting Tiny Images on Tiny Rocks/Pebbles! Merci ⚘Beacoup 😎
YOu're so welcome and thank you for leaving a lovely comment on my channel! I want to invite you to stick around and watch some of the newer live videos I have going on. Every Wed. and Fri. at 5 pm CST. xoxo Jen
@@JenEvers 🐙🤗 I Definitely Will Be Watching 👀 Merci⚘Beacoup 😎
Adorable
Thanks! xoxo Jen
I bet you can do this with pretty/cute napkins like I do on wine bottles...YEAH!!!
What a great observation! Sounds fun! xoxo Jen
Hermosoooooo
Thank you!! xoxo Jen
I love I want to learn this arts
Great! That's what my videos are for. I hope you find it informative and easy to follow! xoxo Jen
Great idea thanks. Wondering if there is any reason you didn't mod podge the rock 1st then put the image into the rock and then more mod podge? I am thinking tissue paper will allow the mp to seep though and keep it sticking down pretty well? Loving the octo he is adorable.
It sure did as you saw! Thanks for watching! xoxo Jen
What type of tape did you use to get that to go through the printer?
modpodge seem cool but i am curious if one could uses the standard oil or water based polyuerthanes or sealer found at hardware stores like homedepot ... great design looks great
I don't see why not. Try it out. Just be careful that it's not harmful for the environment, people or animals. And some will make inket ink bleed and distort. Thanks for watching! xoxo Jen
soooo stinking cute, definitely going rock hunting, and these would be so cute to hide on the edges of the beach or on a hiking trail ... but make sure to put your initials and the date on the bottom so whoever finds them has a piece of you to keep !!!
You could also put a strong magnet on them for the fridge and other places if they aren't too large. Endless fun! Post your makes at the FB group, I'd love to see them! xoxo Jen
Not sure about rocks but when I've mod podged I have more success if I put glue down first..then the tissue..then glue over it. It's worth a try so there are no bubbles or scrinchies.
I got those tips from others as well, but I didn't have any issues with either. The tissue is so thin it went right through! :) TFW! xoxo Jen
Oh that's good to know. : )
Hi Jen, wonderful. I've already done that. Foto Eva
Super! There are things I present that I've done before too, but this one is something I hadn't. so much fun! xoxo Jen TFW!
Can you tell me what you used to glue the bubbles on with? Great video for a very neat technique.
Umm.. I'm thinking probably Aleen's tacky glue. It's been so long since I made this video. That's my go to glue though! You could use any glue really :) xxo Jen
The best way to make the edges blend is to rip the edges rather than cut them
How will that work out side.?
This is wonderful BRAVO! Could you please share more info about those bubbles...manufcacturer and possibly where to find them available? I paint on beach stones and my aquatic series would be enhanced by adding that special detail for more dimension . Thank you so much Keep creating and sharing your great ideas
Hi Urssy :) I wish I could tell you but this video came out in 2017 and I was using things from my stash. I have no idea where the bubbles came from! I do live videos now every Wed. and Fri. evenings. I hope you can join us! I also do online crafty garage sales as well, catch us for that every other Sat. from 10 - 2 right here on this channel :) xoxo Jen
Now this I could do with the tissue paper. I can't draw, but a group of church women got together last Thursday and painted rocks. It was so relaxing and fun. We also tried it with finger nail polish that you swirl in water and then dip the rock in the swirl and it lays it right over the rock. It was a lot of fun, but think this would be more fun. TFS!
Ooh, I like the fingernail polish idea. How did they turn out?! If you have photos, could you share at KTC? facebook.com/groups/482869948452165/?ref=br_rs Have a super day and thanks for watching! xoxo Jen
Could you have started with a layer of Mod Podge, then while it was wet, then add the image?
Hi Jen, Fab tutorial! Love your enthusiasm! May I ask what printer was used to copy onto the tissue paper? Ink Jet or Laser?
I'm pretty sure I used an inkjet printer for that. I typically use my laser printer only for digis that aren't colored. Thank you for watching and commenting! xoxo Jen
wow... keren.... I love U.
Thank you!
Btw. Your octopus 🐙 is adorable.
Thank you bunches my friend! xoxo Jen
If you go over alcohol markers with Mod Podge, doesn’t it smear the marker dots??
I wish I could post a photo to you! Get some of those big metal binder clips (black with the silver metal arms) and after you clip it to your wet rock you can set it down and the silver arms of the binder clip (hold the rocks) and turn it into a great lone STAND for your wet rock!!
Sounds spectacular! I'll have to keep that in mind for next time I do rocks :) xoxo Jen
How cute and adorable. Would a spray sealant have helped to keep the ink from running?
Yep, if used outside, there are comments on this video that people have shared what to use in that case. I don't use mine outside so Mod Podge will hold, but sprays and sealants have been suggested! xoxo Jen
What type of tape did you use to hold the tissue paper to the printer paper? Thanks ❤️
Hi, thank you so much for the inspiring video! What a beautiful finished item! 😍
Sorry for the really basic question, but I don’t understand how you printed the image onto the tissue paper...? (Do you mean you photocopied it...?) Thank you in anticipation! 😊
Hi Mae :) Thanks for watching my video! It's a great question! I taped the tissue paper onto printer paper and printed it using an inkjet printer. I hope that helps. If not, feel free to reach out again! xoxo Jen
Thank you so much for your cool video! Can you please tell me the glue that you used? Thank you!
I believe it was mod podge! Thank you for taking time to comment! xoxo Jen
Hey Jennifer, I love how u go with the flow of it. Do u know how well would these hold up in a memory garden? Thank
Kat Wubbenhorst They will hold up just fine outside, but you need to spray them with a clear acrylic spray like Krylon, after you finish. The Mod Podge doesn't hold up against the elements. If you don't like using spray paint, there is a product called "Triple Thick" that is brush on. It is made by DecoArt Americana and is usually on the bottom shelf under the acrylic craft paints at Michaels or Hobby Lobby.(Whatever you use, you will need to coat all sides of the rock)
Hey Kat! I see Debbie gave you a full answer, and thankfully!! Cause now I've learned more about it too. :) Have fun! xoxo Jen
Thanks so much Debbie! Much appreciated! xoxo Jen
