Under Paris Netflix is throwing it's card in the hat for summer blockbuster and if only it fully succeeded. Under Paris movie is really only a fun time with it's climax. Under Paris trailer promised a fun shark movie and it mostly succeeds. My Under Paris review covers why the climax is so fun and what makes everything leading up to so bland. Under Paris reaction is somewhat mixed, on one hand I think the movie is worth it for the climax, on the other hand, under paris movie suffers from a boring first hour. The under paris ending possibly sets up more of these types of movies and I guess I'll show up for them, I just hope the under paris sequel will be more entertaining than this. Under paris 2024 is almost a fun time but again, you have to suffer the first hour in order to get to the good stuff. Did you get a chance to check out under paris netflix movie yet? i kept hearing how this was the best movie since jaws ... I went to watch it and struggled the whole time from begining to end . The whole scene where the chick gets dragged down almost into the dark of the ocean .. No oxygen tank , blowing bubbles the whole time and somehow breaks free and swam back up to the surface ... Thats when i knew i had fucked up
Lol, That's when I knew I had also fucked up. I could not believe they did that. When she swims back up its like she hardly got dragged down, her nose even started to bleed.
Did you forget the water pressure and she got seemingly dragged like a 100 meters in a few seconds but can resurface in less time than she was dragged in.
I can't stop laughing during the tunnel massacre scene I was holding myself back to not seem like a psycho while watching it with my relatives, it was stupid(it was actually a good scene tho). Also, the fact that they wanted to catch up to the shark near the end by swimming because the boat turned over I burst out laughing at that point. Not to mention the politicians they're so fun
I wasted 30 mins. I wanted the shark to eat all of them.
Imagine a goofy shark post apocalyptic series xD

My favorite part of this movie is where the leader of Millennial band of 'save the ocean' activists jumps into the water, and when the adults yell at her to get the hell out, she was resistant and said "the sharks won't attack humans", then right away she and 11 other Millennials get eaten.
This movie was thousand times better than Sharknado movies!
This was a great movie in my opinion. Lots of jumpscares and its a fun movie.

This movie was hilarious, it's easy to not be killed by sharks by just staying on land and barely anyone in the film could do that 😂
It's beyond stupid but that's the usual for shark movies. It was entertaining though. I just always see these movies and wonder why they don't just make a sea monster instead? They always make these ridiculous Thanos world destroyer sharks and then try to make it make sense but it's always stupid. Like just make Cthulhu if you want to go this extra with the destruction level.

I just watched it and it was so goofy like when a shark launched a boat 10meters up
If they do decide to turn it into a series I'd like them to keep the focus on Paris. At the end of the movie they showed a bunch of survivors huddled up on rooftops while a bunch of the sharks are swimming around them. Which is actually a great setup for a second Paris based shark film. In the second one there could be parts of Paris that aren't below water level and could be safe havens from the shark infestation. So the film could follow a new group of people trying to find a safe way across the water to one of those safe zones. It could make for a pretty intense follow up film if done right.
I love this idea. Let's hope that'll be the case instead of just rinse and repeat in a different city.

They could’ve cut out the entire activist subplot and the movie would’ve been just fine without it. That’s what killed the pacing for me because the shark barely had any presence which dragged the pacing to oblivion. Until the triathlon. Which was the best part of the movie.
I couldn't agree more. The activist subplot really dragged the movie. Plus, it just comes out of nowhere and is never really explored.
I enjoyed this. It was fairly derivative - there were bits of Deep Blue Sea in this. There were bits of Jaws in this (there were echoes of Chief Brodie and the Mayor of Amity here). But it was fun. I don’t ever watch a shark movie expecting it to be anything more or less. There will never be a shark movie as good as Jaws, and I’m happy with that.
My only issues (and it’s not a big issue) is that they do the same thing as Deep Blue Sea - they decide to announce the shark as a Mako just so they don’t look like they’re ripping off Jaws with a Great White, and then proceed to create a shark that looks NOTHING like a Mako, and is so similar to a Great White!
I partly enjoyed that part. They could've made them look even worse. As it was, I had some sympathy for them and was rooting for them, but it would be more satisfying of they were constantly more annoying, and then you got to see them get their comeuppances. Also, maybe shorter. The main environmentalist seemed like it was going to be one of the protagonists, even

And when that person got eaten....without spoilers.....a very stupid person who thought a shark wouldn't eat her, I laughed xD
The main character was relatable and the 1st hour was not boring at all - for me, anyway. I feel people tend to see it as a trash movie just because there are sharks in it, but it's a completely ok movie. Some big mistakes: 1.) Characters too often go full retard - you should never do that as we know. There are enough realistically stupid politicians and activists out here. 2.) There are bombs in European rivers, but it doesn't mean river beds are bomb-storage facilities. 3.) Where did the flood come from? --- Overall it could have been a much better movie with a slightly better script: stupid characters could have been stupid realistically (having relatable motives, making mistakes we can understand, etc.), and it would have been better if there was only 1 big bomb - they used some big ones for bombing cities - next to a dam or something, so it could have caused the flood, going off.
Sharknado made more sense plot wise than this movie, i wasted my time at work watching this, i could have watched sharknado again.
I mean i guess ya it was quite funny and fun at the end but like i dont think thats what they were aiming to do lol this movie was just so dumb.

This is literally the dumb version of Jaws. Same exact storyline and similar characters the only thing that's different is Paris and the shark is mutant with what it does.
