You’re never in a good mood, your plants die, you have no friends, and your only joy in life is drinking and vibrating in bed? This game is way too realistic.

EA really should rerelease The Sims 1 on origin like they did with various older and way more unpopular games, with a resolution fix patch to allow us to play it easily on modern computers!

No ones willing to spend 500+ on the original game if they broke it down into dlcs therefor itll prob sadly never happen. I could see them making it a digital bonus for a unfished flagship console game that they remove from your accountbafter taking away support 5 years later though so theres hope.

And as the woman was looking around, the man sat down next to my dad's tools and stuff that wasn't for sale, and this man picks up a bottle of Gatorade with a mysterious thick gray fluid in it and is aBOUT TO OPEN IT TO TAKE A SIP *THEN* ASKS IF HE CAN HAVE THIS DRINK AND MY MOM SAYS NO ITS PAINT

I downloaded a Greenhouse, the Tragic Clown's "cousin" Flippy who badly performed acrobatics and fell over, a fire bomb, a Rabbit that left eggs everywhere, and a murder ray like what the Repo Man had.
There was more, of course, like an elevator (more of a portal with a door, really.) There was also the toilet you could flush money down - for those who used the money cheat code too much and got bored of having everything. I still had too much even after flushing $10,000 down at a time.
I'm sure there's more I've forgotten. Sites like SimSlice were great, and I wish I could get into ZincMan's site from 2000, but the Wayback Machine captures of it don't let me through the front door.

Though you're free to expand your household. I recommend using the potion personality inversion "feature" to have perfect Sims, and have them reproduce. With Makin' Magic you can then make the kid an adult eventually, and... find another perfect Sim to add to the family. This involves either starting a second potion'd family, or inbreeding.

I loved your previous series in The Sims 1, and this video is also super funny! Thanks Kevin (my beloved) :3. Here are some tips and tricks about The Sims 1 after playing it for so long:
    1. To do a successful party, invite people and right after inviting you start serving meals. Even better if you place a buffet!
    2. Pets can also increase your social mood.
    3. If you want to invite someone over, keep calling them to invite to their house, after ~3 tries they will accept it. Talking over the phone is very hit or miss and most of the time you end up losing relationship points by doing it.
    4. The scary sound that plays can be two things:
    - Burglar
    - El Bandito (A raccoon that flips your trash can)
Why does a raccoon trigger that scary noise? I have no idea, but it does, and it doesn't do anything "bad" to your Sim aside of flipping the trash can, causing it to wake up.
There is also a bug where a Burglar can spawn in your lot and disappear, which causes the sfx to play.
    5. The Sims 1's early game is suuuper hard, so the best way to keep your motives up is by reinvesting everything that you are earning from your job to buy better items. Also skipping work every other day allows you to have more time to improve your motives/skills/etc.
    6. Computers have more than one job, and the jobs in the computer are different than the job in the newspaper.
    7. You forgot to buy a burglar alarm!
    8. The reason your Sim has bad Room level when going outside is because pets keep pissing on the sidewalk. It is better to buy a sign that disallow pets on your lot (you can find it on the "Decorative" section, it is very cheap) to avoid your Sim not getting a promotion due to the pets being inconsiderate of your Sim, smh those pets.

The only potion I remember is I think the yellow potion(?) where it would mirror your personality traits. I only remember this as well because I would make a sim with absolutely 0 points in everything, make the potion, and then have the greatest sim you've ever known.

Yeah with the Sims 1 the first things you buy are a phone, smoke alarm and a burglar alarm, of course a fridge and all that stuff to like you have already. Eventually a maid as well, then you can focus more on your skills and social stuff this game just has a particular rhythm and once you get it it's not so bad.

Ah, yes, I love The Sims 1. I will always remember when I created a couple of super rich Sims, aristocracy even, and built them a huge, magnificent palace (this part of the game has weirdly good items to build that sort of things). They had perfect lives, but then they decided they need an heir. They were trying their best to take care of babies, but despite numerous attempts every baby was eventually taken away by the social care before it could grow up. I could see my Sims slowly lose themselves in the sorrow and madness. Millions of thoughts had to gallop through their virtual minds. Are they cursed? How come they, the chosen ones who had every money in the world couldn't become the real family they dreamed of for so long? All this fortune, this grand property but no one to pass it on. Imprisoned by the superficial happiness of wealth, the only thing that was left for them to do was to wait for the inevitable end, for the slow decay of their existence. Just as all their property will be decayed and forgotten after their disappearance. Surrounded by the most beautiful and expensive objects, yet suffering terrible loneliness. Sometimes I still think about them and even tho I feel sorry for them I'm also grateful for the life lesson they taught me: "Even when you have everyting, you can still be miserable in life, because life in general sucks". Or someting like that. That's why I will always cherish this game, it's honest in its brutality and it knows no mercy, just like real life. Brilliant.
