The public changing room is a nope for me. I have a bone thing very small ribcage stands at 21 and my hips are 30. Im five foot 1. I fear I'd get Stared at. To be fair most people are kind the worst I've gotten is needs to go on a bulk. Still same size. Obesity just hurts my knees and causes fay overhang and osteoporosis. Currently an hourglass 30 shoulders as well grew my lats gaining weight can be hard. Due to insomnia I'm 35 to 36 kilo which isn't healthy so lean bulking. Though. Even at heavier the best it was 22.5. Sucked.

While it’s true that you should only wear indoor sneakers… at my gym I was shocked to see in Korea that the majority wear their outside sneakers inside the gym … when no one is monitoring their behaviour in Korea I’ve noticed everybody breaks the rules! So don’t assume everyone does wear a pair of indoor-only sneakers that they never wear outdoors. I was quite surprised considering the shoe etiquette culture!
The other really annoying fact is so many people use their mobile phones to make and receive calls in the gym training zones. And speaking very loudly for added drama! And then just sit on the machines not working out but making phone calls. This is very common.
Plus, watching videos on their mobile phones with the volume turned up to very loud without using headphones!
I’ve been a member of some of the most expensive gyms in Korea with huge membership deposits (high five figures US$). And I’ve been a member at average-priced gym franchises too. Yet this aforementioned behaviour is prevalent at all types of gyms here. There is still a long way to go before gym etiquette improves as modern gyms have only been common here for only the last decade. Before that, they were hidden inside hotels and looked like medical examination centres!
The other annoyance is the amount of people who stare at you while you’re working out. And stare at you in the showers! A very uncomfortable feeling!

When I went to a gym in Korea (my university's gym) I never saw another female there. Some girls came to weigh themselves in the lobby, but that's it 😂

@Enhancedboy For people living in the dormitory, it's part of the rent. So not free, but anyway 😁

I wish they make us take off our shoes in my gym. I’m forced to stretch on the dirty floor.

Are there gyms with feminine vibes in Korea or what do you mean by masculine vibes? Justa asking :) it looks like a regular gym to me

There are some gyms that have equipment more geared towards men (heavier weights darker and just more males in general). Some korean gyms have more variety in machines that are popular with females to attract a balance. Definitely each gym has a different vibe 😊
