Putting that first kid in a "teen killers" video is bold. There isn't any evidence showing he was actually going to use the weapons. Not defending what he did, it's still illegal and pretty irresponsible. But again, no evidence of motive, no evidence of a plan, nothing. Pretty risky of you to put that in.

The first teen is so unfortunate, he came forward and dug himself into those charges. He thought he was coming forward to help and defuse the situation, but all he did was admit everything he possibly could have and get charged, even if it's true that the thought of using the gun never crossed his mind. He probably could have just kept quiet and gotten off with no threat to the school.

Well, that's certainly possible. I think it's more likely he knew they were going to end up searching his vehicle and finding the rifle anyway. Plus he had the other two rounds still on his person. By coming forward, he probably felt that he could assure investigators that he harbored no ill will, and that it was a self-defense thing. If he'd waited for them to find everything, he definitely would have looked worse. Like a potential 'teen killer' even.
Not to mention they act like having a .22 in his car makes him a threat. There's plenty of places where's that's completely normal
Tbh, he didnt even do anything really wrong. Where I live you can keep a gun LOCKED in your car in a school zone, he probably didnt do that much research and thought he was in the clear. Putting him in here with teen killers for having a gun is just wrong imo.

The Bever brothers are both evil. Their little brother’s 911 call as he begged them to stop is absolutely horrific. I’m glad that crystal and her baby sister lived and were adopted together and still have each other. Of course none of us grew up in that household so we won’t really know the full dynamics, and it’s hard to rely on the “word” of two sociopathic, murderers. I tend to fall on the belief that they absolutely did what they did, thinking that they were going to go on a spree. Their younger siblings definitely didn’t abuse them and didn’t deserve the barbaric acts imposed onto them by their brothers. They were innocent. I can’t imagine how terrified they were and the pain they endured.
As far as Michael and Robert, I hope they find all the fame they craved and deserve on cell block D.

In the time it takes the average person to see a threat and successfully draw.
It takes more than 21ft (usually) to be able to successfully land a shot, let alone draw your weapon.
if you watch some clips from the police who have to deal with people who have a knife, or any weapon that can do harm, even if they are 20 meters away, if they charge at the cops, it doesn't take long for the person to reach the spot where the cop was 5 seconds ago for example.

Yeah, I agree with you. I think some countries don’t release the names or images of these kinds of criminals for that reason. I wonder if it works to dissuade some of these types of crime. If it does work, then I think we (the USA) should stop releasing the names and faces of the mass criminal too. They shouldn’t get any attention at all.

There’s literal serial killers arrested everyday that are just a blip on the media circuit and aren’t even known when 30, 40, 50 years ago, it would’ve been a media frenzy. Courtney is an example of what happens when someone has a huge ego about themselves, along with mental issues, and when society fails to realize men are not always the aggressive ones. I myself am a victim of sexual assault multiple times and physical assault by women and the stigma around "men are supposed to like it" and "it isn't manly to be beat by women" that society allowed this to happen. I feel also social media giving fame to these young folks is a problem as well. The stigma is slowly dying but not as fast as it should as men are finally starting to make society realize the bullshit behind it. When she was given the news of his death you could clearly see that was acting and narcissistic reactions as she only worried about herself.

Nolan screwed up by straight up confessing. How things appear to others matter much more than what the intentions actually were. Explaining the situation only works as much as others will believe you. Sucks for him that his first time making this error ended badly.
A great example of why you never EVER help or speak to the police. Confessing something to the police will never help you and only hurt you as they aren’t there to help you, they’re there to arrest someone for a crime.
And a reminder, if you get arrested, the police also CAN NOT help with your sentence and have absolutely nothing to do with it and have no authority so pleading with them or thinking that being “cooperative” with them will help you- it won’t. Police arrest people. Only DAs and Judges have any impact on your sentence. So shut your damn mouth and ask for a lawyer.

The kid’s parents should have told him to not bring it to school and leave it at home .I am old ,when I was in school the guys would walk around with throwing stars and knife scabbards on their belts,and they probably had guns in their trucks too. I forgot about my gun in my purse when I went in the bank the other day.My friend’s husband forgot that he had his pocket knife on him when they were taking a flight ,he remembered it when they had stopped to eat. They put it in a plastic baggie and buried it under a bush at the restaurant they picked it up on the way back home.

Honestly it appears to be entirely the parent's fault and lack of exposure to people and the outside world in general. Lack of teaching of morals, humanity and understanding. I did that in high school! I was shooting gophers one day with my .22 and had my pocket full of rounds. Woke up late the next day and threw the same jeans on and took a dozen .22 shells to school accedentally. I found them in my pocket in front of a teacher. He goes " you can't have those in school" I was confused and I think I asked "why?"

Henry repeating rifle has a tube style magazine like most shotguns, but, the way you load a Henry repeating rifle is really weird. You take the cap at the end of the tube off, pull the tube up until there’s an opening, then load your bullets. You don’t remove the tube

If you don’t chamber a round or open your internal mag, you can’t tell whether a Henry rifle is loaded, because the bullet is still hidden a bit deep in the tube mag.

My father was telling me a story about how his high school days in the mid 60s and how he and many other guys would go hunting in the morning and just leave their shotgun in the principal’s office when they got to school without any fuss or real administration. There was a bit of that in my day in the mid 90s, having a gun rack and a unloaded rifle locked in a pick up. I was never a hunter but it went on and no one really thought about it. But it’s a very different world today I’m sure.
mass shootings and serial killers have a lot of shady intelligence government related origins, it's not a spontaneous phenomenon, people don't want to shoot up innocent people for no reason, I personally firmly believe that there's a conspiracy behind all of this to keep people scared and controlled and to justify America becoming a 1984 type heavy handed police state that it is today
In the mid-1980's we would bring our rifles (including my own semi-auto AK) to school due to a shooting range being just a few miles down from the high school. The principal only asked that we do not have the weapons loaded while on school property.
The "Good ole boys" had their hunting rifles and shotguns in the gun racks of their trucks in the parking lot, just as your father said was normal at his school.
If we brought the rifles/shotguns into the school, yes, they would have to be left with the principal, but most of the time we just left them locked in our vehicles. The school parking lot was patrolled by "narcs" (off-duty police) who mainly looked for kids drinking or smoking (smoking whatever) behind the cars in the lot. With over 1,000 cars in the high school student parking, there were usually four officers at any given time.
With all those guns on campus, you would think there would have been at least one incident, but no, not in the four years I was there, nor the previous four years my older brother attended that school... and the school was that new that there were no previous years to consider.
Until the state of California cracked down on guns on campus (the later 80s), there had been no incidents involving firearms or knives for that matter. It was a very safe school.
I was in HS from 2007-2010 and gun racks were allowed still, but you couldn't have one on it of course. You could also get 1 free day from classes to go hunting during the first week of deer season. You still had to come in at some point to sign yourself out. So it was an unspoken mutual "don't ask don't tell" when you'd sign out because *everyone* knows there's a rifle in your vehicle.
@@johnathansaegal3156Gun laws didn't come into play until there was a need for them, e.g. shootings were on the rise. I know that in your individual school it wasn't an issue and it may not have been in many schools, but at the same it WAS an issue in many schools and beyond.
I graduated in 2005 and all through high school guys would bring guns to school kept on their trucks in full view. But I went to a rural HS. Never felt threatened by it.
First kid is a prime example of why you don’t speak too police or offer information. He got himself those damn charges by thinking “helping them” was the right thing too do. A complete and utter idiot. It was mentioned he was in special education classes though… so maybe it’s not all his fault.

He wasn’t in special education classes, he had a 504. That’s for a medical diagnosis and it only covers accommodations not services. 98% of these are written for ADHD. Unless he were intellectually disabled and truly didn’t know right from wrong where a case could possibly be made for this being a manifestation of his disability, it is his fault.
There's a part of me that feels bad for the Bever brothers. Their actions are absolutely unacceptable and horrifying and unforgivable, however they they were slightly abused, told awful things about the outside world and was never able to talk to kids outside. It's sad they couldn't get help before such an awful tragedy occurred.

Regarding the first one, I feel like it should be common knowledge you can’t bring weapons to school. I remember in 4th grade, a classmate got expelled for bringing a toy gun to school. They take it very seriously. And that was in like 2003
When I was in high school, late 80s, it was nothing for people to have guns in their trucks; a lot of us would go deer and small game hunting after school; no one ever thought of shooting up the school. Things changed quickly and drastically. I often wonder, "What happened within the following generations?".

I come from a small town and I know that during hunting seasons, a lot of kids sneak their rifles in their car just go hunting afterwards. My grandparents all took their guns to school when they were kids so they could go hunting after school. My pap told me that he brought his shotgun into school and refinished the stock for a shop project. I feel bad for that first kid. He shouldn't have done that and that's a mistake that could possibly ruin the rest of his life.
Something like that happened at my school on a ski club trip. Everyone packed on the bus with their heavy winter clothing to go skiing. When we pulled into the parking lot, the teacher found a 308 cartridge rolling around on the floor of the bus. There were a lot of kids who just wore their heavy hunting clothing on the ski slopes and no body really thought that much about it. They figured that a round was just left in someone hunting coat and fell out. No one knew whose it was but the chaperones had to go through everyone's bags.

1:35 times have changed so much. I was class of 2013. Ten years ago. When I was in high school, farmer kids would have shot guns in the back windows of their trucks on racks. Kids would have bullet necklaces. The school parking lot was full of trucks with guns. It was like.. not an issue. They were banned on school property, but not one ever brought them into the school or even off the senior parking lot. They just stayed in the trucks. I’d never even thought of it as an issue back then, now it seems mind boggling

For the first kid, it's worth noting that in many states (possibly including OH), an adult may actually be legally allowed to have a loaded firearm inside one's vehicle even the vehicle is on school or government property. This is because courts in many states have determined that one's vehicle is similar to the ground on which one's house is built, in that you may carry a loaded firearm for self defense. Obviously, you can't get out of your vehicle with the loaded firearm while on school or government property, but I'm curious if OH maybe doesn't have that kind of protection for people who carry guns.
here’s the exceptions in ohio
- law enforcement
- state employees with CCW
- CCW holders who only keep the gun in the vehicle
- CCW holders who don’t enter a school building/school grounds
he’d need to be at least 21 to get a CCW. it also requires certain safety procedures, such as the gun being unloaded (it was). though im not sure he follows all safety procedures, if he had a CCW it would be a grey area. im also not sure if that applies to rifles and shotguns too or just handguns

home schooled, no friends, live on the internet was a big part of them becoming that way. I vow myself if I ever have kids one day to ban internet and social media from them until they are 18. they gonna live the way kids used to before social media was invented goin outside and playin sports and stuff. @@turtlearecool a few of my friends have kids, 1 family has kids already in their teens that have been pretty much barred from social media. I see a HUGE difference in the kids from just the way they act to their overall lifestyle. They almost are never not doing something outdoors, from sports to tending to their farmland and their horses. I then look at another one of my friends kids and they virtually don't even see outside, they are glued to their phones and PC's. And those kids are socially awkward, almost as if they don't even know normal human interaction.
