And custody is with the courts but dunno if he went there at all, even to petition for emergency custody. To everyone talking to her she seemed normal. If she was like that with the doctor, then that would be the answer why she wasn't forcibly hospitalised.

He grabbed a bat from his stepdaughter to stop her from hitting him, and then he’s grabbed from behind from an uncle who is fighting him. Then uncle gets a gun from upstairs, comes downstairs and kills him and it’s selfdefense.

She was surely interviewed by a doctor, and if she didn't show signs of acute psychosis requiring immediate hospitalisation, then the only option would be to release her. Maybe they did find something but only wanted to follow up and treat, because she managed to hid the acute and extreme severity of it. Look at that first interview with the police when she has her daughter with her. She seems pretty normal there, doesn't she? If she was like that with the doctor, then that would be the answer why she wasn't forcibly hospitalised.
The thing is, we expect doctors to be able to understand someone who is a psychopath but the issue is, psychopaths are smart and manipulative. They can adjust in any situation and make it seem like they are the best and most innocent people.
I would love to hear interviews with the doctor(s) who evaluated Lori and released her in 2 hours. Just would love to know what their observations were. Sadly, when people are truly psychopathic, its not that hard to lie your way through evaluations.
