He has relegated the vocalist to the side keeping him busy and subdued with the keys, while the drummer and the bass player are kinda trying to make themselves invisible. The guitar is turned way higher in the mix than it should be, all in the name of showcasing ONLY Yngwie who is standing mostly at the front , light years away from his mortal bandmates. Stay put for next year guys: he will return with a drum machine or maybe with a band made of holograms of himself...
Yngwie has 13 cabinets and 22 amp heads. Funny... the bass player has ONE SVT Ampeg Rig and keyboards have one amp. I met Yngwie a couple times with other drummers, Patrick and J Mac. After one song he has played every note possible on his guitar. The 2nd song is the same as the first and the third is the same as the first two. He can sure as heck play a boatload of notes. There's a phenomenon called dimishing returns and WINGWAY exhibits that after three songs...
Well , to be honest i know this song by heart. Trilogy was the very first cd i ever bought in 1986! My dad had bought a cdplayer for our living room in 1985. And then later i bought one in 1988. I can't tell how many times i have heard this song. Performing live gives you the opportunity to do things different and is always different ofcourse. So taking that in account and the fact that it is a great song, it's a pity they only play half of it. The band is tight and plays well. Yngwie is not concentrating and more concerned about other things. I've seen some footage of this concert (thanks Zeljko). And for me it would be more interesting that he/ they played more whole songs Bummer

the Alcatrazz stuff, Rising Force, Marching Out and Trilogy are some of the best hard-rock music ever made and will always stand the test of time in my book. Odyssey I don't like as much even though it's a good record, the Göran Edman albums I hardly ever listen to because I don't care for him as a singer, Facing the Animal i REALLY good because I love Mats Leven's voice...or Cozy Powell After that I kind of lost interest.. What Malmsteen seems to think is that everybody listens to him for HIM... Lots of People listen to him for the band as much. This is as good to me as listening to King Diamond without quality musicians and King doing voice acrobatics ala Cristina Aguilera... When I see this kind of stage set-up I imagine the next step would be the band playing behind the Marshalls...? I checked out his new album on youtube with the comments full of people PRAISING him for how good it is... I´m like ARE YOU CRAZY????? The production sounds like recorded on a potato... it doesn't even feel worth it to use ClipGrab and copy it... Some traces of good songs are there I guess, some solos sound interesting I guess, he still is who he is but at this point he needs AN INTERVENTION...

As much as I love Yngwie, no vocalist really diminished the quality of the show. Even I can’t listen to Yngwie soloing for 1 1/2 to 2 hours nonstop. Told the story before, but gonna tell it again... I saw YM at a small venue here 1000 years ago. No Singer! Weird! YM was assaulting his strings like no picker had done before. Gee, me thinks YM is mad about something. What's this?! YM steps up to the mic and sings about 2 songs. Never new he sang. Didn't sound bad. After more string abuse, steps up to the mic and gives a 'Thank you' to our officials at the airport for stopping his singer from entering the country because of a little weed (which is now legal here. LOL). Haha haha!
Paying all that money to watch an ego disguised as a man playing, a guitar…. Yngwies you are a joke these days you need a real singer and band, it’s like watching a tribute band
Very sloppy.....the wall of Marshalls is very Spinal Tap.Loved Yngwie up to Facing The Animal then it all went wrong for me....he seems to be still copying Blackmore the way Blackmore decided to play whatever he felt like ( just random shit not the song the band were actually playing🤣) in his last few years with Purple
Very sloppy guitar playing. How can he be happy with his playing? Can’t he hear himself? Too sad to see one of the world’s greatest guitarists playing like that and being proud about it. Sadly he is just a shadow of what he used to be.
