- One of the voluntary groups that l belong to is a living history society. We set the year to 1895 and dress as the wealthy landowners would have done. In this series l will be showing you some of the clothes that l wear for different occasions. I have been informed that Brett's friend is particularly interested in this era and so l have made this series of videos with him in mind. Hope that you guys enjoy this as a break from the Ukes.
looks alot better than tshirts and blue jeans which every one wears. now its like a race to the bottom where every one, even the rich, try to dress as shabily and sloppy as possible. example, people dressing in ripped up jeans

It is indeed a truly vigorous time to be alive, the victorian era was infallibly better than all eras. The most poetic age and arguably the most lively and wondrous.

Amazing outfit! I've currently been interested in the Victorian era lifestyle and dress. Sadly, the nearest event that has anything to do with Victorian era here in the USA is the Victorian Christmas in Brookville, Pennsylvania. I hope to acquire such outfits soon, though, and act as sort of a freelance historical reenactor in my spare time. Much love from across the pond.

I built up my outfits by going to auctions, charity shops, inheriting them and also buying new.l found that top hats were impossible to get second hand so l bought new. @@ken-vc8bf I just started into the dress. So far, it's more of a modern interpretation. I have acquired grey trousers, a black bow tie, and suspenders from Wal-Mart. I have a loaf of button-down shirts hanging around. I currently wear a black leather waistcoat that was gifted to me, and my most recent purchase is, in fact, a top hat from Amazon. I'm just about to try my hand at sewing together a frock coat. I'm jazzed altogether about it.

It's brilliant Kenneth, this in my opinion the only decent video, in regards to late Victorian gentleman's attire. My Victorian clothing now, is only starting to finally come together. And hopefully next year we will all, be able to do this wonderful hobby again.

Awww cheers Norrie, your comment has truly brightened up my day. Have just been getting over urinary infection number 6. Seen a eurologist and been through the usual unpleasant tests. Turns out that l have an enlarged prostrate and am on medication to help reduce its size. Other than that all is well. Have now been made Worshipful Master of my lodge for a second time. Very nice outifts sir,but victorian mens sometimes wear a partially faced lapels with satin or ottoman silk in his frock coat for summery vibes and a white linens waistcoat,but brocade is famous too!is your topper vintage sir?
