    Hi CJ.
Thank you for uploading such a great piece. A lot of people seem to forget how Christian the Germans actually were back then and you will see Weihnacht (Christmas) cards and postcards etc given to and by Wehrmacht soldiers, but I have never see an example given by POWs.

@@historicmilitaria1944 Ha ha ha, I totally agree there. It is stuff like this that shows the human side and often goes under the radar, but is just as exciting/important as larger 'bling' objects.

Great video CJ, that's a really interesting item. I do like the more 'personal ' it's that you can find, as you said, a one off. It's a pity that the maker of the card could not be identified. In itself the writing and presentation of the card is very nice, that sort of handwork was far more common in years gone by. Cheers m8

Thanks, according to the Sussex history site, the guys surname was Schneider and apparently the teachers doing the lectures were camp prisoners.

@@historicmilitaria1944 that's great to find that out...I wonder what happened to him?. You mentioned the idealism of the young U boat crews , I would think a lot of those young men were never 'cured' of their political beliefs, maybe later in life they could of reflected on the past and changed their minds, but whatever public face the projected inside might of been a different story 🤔🤔🤔
