- A one-on-one interview with one of the most anticipated NASCAR drivers in recent history.
Rev up the excitement as Shane Van Gisbergen, the kiwi sensation, chats dynamic plans for 2024! He's set to race full-time for Kaulig Racing in the Xfinity Series while making strategic appearances in both the Trucks and Cup series for select races.
This is a one-on-one interview with Shane at the Trackhouse Racing shop in Concord, where he shares his insights on how he envisions his progression as a NASCAR driver. - Hry
I was a nascar nut as a kid, but fell off as I got more into hockey and playing music. Started getting back into motorsports a few years ago, then into the V8s over COVID when I caught a few races on the Motortrend app. Became a huge Giz fan after he won from P17 with a broken collarbone in Sandown, and made it to Chicago to see him win, which will always be a special memory. When he said he'd be coming over, I booked a flight to Oz (thankfully had the miles!) and saw him win at Bathurst in October. Gonna be tuning in each week to see how he does!
Great interview, SVG appears very humble and realistic. As an “adopted Aussie” kiwi we all loved his driving down here in Aus. I’ve been a big fan of NASCAR for over 30 years and I really feel he has what it takes to do very well over there. Oh, and keep an eye out for our next export, Brodie Kosteki.
I hope we get some Brodie opportunities soon. He’ll be driving for RCR, just a few minutes down the road from where I’m based, vs the hour drive to the Trackhouse shop. BUT, Shane’s ride in the Xfinity series is Kaulig racing, right there on the RCR campus near me.
Apparently Waters is coming over here as well for a couple rounds this year. As sad as it is to think about, the V8s may be circling the drain - the series having mismanaged it's latest rules change and created a lot of animosity within the organization - so I hope a few of those guys follow Shane over. The top 10 can really pedal a car, so it would be awesome to get a few more funny accents on the grid!
@@salkdhfpoahergpoahre1534 I’m hoping also that Shane McLaughlin can manage to do a race or two. He was originally planning nascar but I think Penske wanted him in iIndy. Not sure if it will happen but with all his old mates going over one never knows.
@@user-tb7fg4mu6v I really want to see him and Scotty do the 24h of Daytona together next year!
Bring on 2024, never followed Nascar previously but with SVG competing that's about to change. Can't wait!!
Nice new fan
@@NoName-gv6pi I've followed him since he crossed the ditch and his skills were impressive way back then.
Show em how it’s done SVG. Big fan here from Indianapolis. Talent never hides!!
As an Aussie Nascar Junkie for 15 odd years now who gave up on V8 supercars when Holden died the series died for me but Shane is probably the most talented versatile driver ive seen in my 50 years watching V8's i think he'll surprise everyone how quick he will adapt and move forward he'll have his "rookie " moments im sure but so far theres nothing ive seen him drive where he isn't up front and always in with a chance whether sports cars rally cars whatever really ..
Great to finally have another driver to get behind from our part of the world. I Hated Ambrose with a passion in V8s as a holden man but as soon as he went to the states that changed and now due to Marcos im totally addicted to nascar love it
Aussies and Kiwis have a strange relationship we love our fellow Anzacs and definitely have a brotherhood and love but we love to hate each other when it comes to sports
Cant wait excited and Xfinity is always great racing going to be tough as a JRM (Allgaier) fan ill absolutely be hoping Shane Wins from now on Will be hard in cup as I love Kyle KFB ill be torn now lol
Can’t wait to see The Giz race next year.
I’m pulling for this guy. I don’t know a lot about him but interviews like this and his obvious talent level brings a new excitement to the sport.
He can drive anything....fast.
Hopefully he does well on the oval tracks and drafting and all that
Ty Gibbs was not too happy with him at Indianapolis but he got pushed by Logano...
Is that ross chastain jockey car behind 2024
I don't think so. I'm pretty sure those were last year's liveries.
It's looks like it has a busch light logo on it
@@ryanrollmanGood eye. I suppose that is a 2024 livery of some sort. Hmmm.
So if his girlfriend is in the US with him who's looking after her v8 supercar team seeing how she's part owner of the team
I have the same question well it must all left to Jamie Whincup. & triple eight. Engineering team
She's stated she will be working from America. Technology is an amazing thing
3 owners in that team.. I think her work is remote anyway.
Team will be just fine.
They have operated at a very high level for decades..
For sure her dad will help out.
