It's all the Chinese herbs, snake etc that was added to the rice wine that makes it medicinal.

Love how the guy in the back is laughing and smiling when she tries the snake-lizard drink. Nice cultural exchange there. Sometimes, people in different countries aren't always understanding or on-board with "foreigners" coming in and wanting to try things or have fun.

Been to Shanghi on two tours to China. Very beautiful city. Went on a boat tour to the harbour to see the lights and it was amazing at night. We never got to try any street food being on a tour. Hotels were beautiful and meals were good.

Love the drone footage, very beautiful. The food is nothing rare, but very well made. I guess it's good to have locals to take you to the best stalls for these street food. But Shanghai should have a lot of variety of food to offer. You should be able to make a few more videos here before moving on to the next place.

those flying lizard are called "cleret gombel" here on my place on indonesia, they have some kind of unique skin below their jaw colored yellow for the female and blue for the male one

these videos are very interesting and make me want to try (almost) all the foods. One question about the pancakes with crispy rice cake inside: are you sure they're made with cornstarch? Most of the pastries of that kind I've seen in Vancouver are made with a mix of rice starch and sometimes tapioca... not so much cornstarch. I'm currently living away from Canada and if it's really cornstarch I'd like to try to improvise a pancake resembling the above, since rice starch and tapioca are not available here (sadly, no Asian ingredients in patagonia/south America). Thanks for your great videos.

The flying lizard that was fermented in the liquor is a dried gecko. It one of the ingredients that pass down to help about men problem or so if I remember it correctly.

Hey man, just a tip, the drone shots are cool and as much as one might be tempted to play with them , I suggest the transition shots to be more from the actual streets than random drone footage, cheers!
On breakfast,the soy milk in China is always made from soy bean with sesame seed or mung bean or nuts...etc. Different from Taiwan and with fruity flavor. Must try it!
I'll have to try that in a future video! Stay tuned!
