    Hi Merrick,
    I like the glacier. Your work is extremely fascinating to me. The layering up process seems quite involved and I imagine it takes a lot of patience to do. Not to mention all of the different materials you use. As always I rather enjoyed watching you create this.
    Have a fantastic week!

    • @IamKnucks
      @IamKnucks Před 3 lety +2

      I know you weren't asking me, but As someone who has been building dioramas for years I recommend getting a couple blocks of polystyrene, some mod podge glue, some sculptamold, and some cheap paints from your local department store. Pretty much all of them have small bottles of acrylic paint for kids.
      With those few materials you can start to build interesting Rocky cliffs. If you pick up some woodland scenic grass you can add patches of green to the rocky cliffs. But grass and plant life can be expensive. So I always recommend playing with the cheap stuff until you have a good feel for it. Once you have a good feel for it it's time to buy all of the plants and resin and foam cutter, etc
      Happy crafting!

    Don´t wetting the plastic casts for the plaster but talkpowder it instead. Pure talkpowder is made from rock. And it is a good releasing agent.

    As more water has the plaster, more time take to set; the model is softer and fragile. You have to be very careful with the type of plaster, cause I and II (Paris) need about 40% of water, but III, IV and V, need less 20% of water (the last three are ussualy used in dentistry or something like)

    I think you would benefit from not mixing the acrylic colors on the model itself, but a piece of cardboard or something else instead, to test out the colors, and (hopefully) avoid stuff like having to do the paint job two times. : )
