I have followed Amira's singing career since seeing her audition on CZcams. She has such a beautiful voice that has matured and become even better as the years have gone by. Lots of love from this American fan.
And then realizing for all Amira,s youtube videos Amira hase more then a billion views. She really is a STUNNING and UNIQUE WORLD CLASS SUPER SOPRANO AND VOCALIST.
She is still a Child, inside with an amazing voice.

Amira was the best as a child. During her teenage years she was the best. And now she's still the best. Because of this and her personality, Amira has established herself as the most popular soprano of all time.
Amira is extremely talented but you are getting carried away, as she is just at the beginning of her career and there is a long way to go. Your emotional personal opinion does not translate into such a sweeping statement of fact. Perhaps you have never heard of Jessye Norman, Maria Callas, Dame Joan Sutherland, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Cecilia Bartoli, Montserrat Caballe, Renee Fleming, Sumi Jo? They are among the most popular sopranos of all time and they have long careers, many, many outstanding performances and millions of record sales to prove it. It takes more than winning a talent show, getting a following on CZcams and having relatively few successful performances to be "the most popular soprano of all time". Make your statement in another twenty five years after comparing some statistics.
@@JohnHF1957 Thank you for your comment. I know all the divas from the near past very well. Before them, well before them, there were others who were very popular too. But Maria Callas and her contemporaries had an advantage in the vinyl record era that the previous sopranos didn't have. Marica Callas and others even had the advantage of radio and the cinema. Don't get me wrong, I love the divas of the past. Amira Willighagen had the advantage of the internet, social media and mobile devices, which the divas of the recent past didn't have. Add this to Amira's immense talent and charisma. Even though she is a classical soprano and crossover singer, Amira has nearly 1 billion views, earned over 10 years of solid presence on social media, especially CZcams. Amira has 90 videos with more than 1 million views. And she has two diamond, two platinum and two gold records. Amira has popularized classical and crossover singing for tens of millions of new fans. Being popular only for a niche, for a minority, is not being popular. Amira is popular, the most popular soprano of all time.

None of those listed were able to reach out to the ears of those who rarely if ever listened to classical performers
Amira has had a large fan base for over a decade (it will likely never reduce)
She has introduced so many to a genre who would otherwise never listen
If only in this regard she is over and above all who came before
@@desj2584 Your comment is pure conjecture not absolute fact. You don't know how many people, who had never followed classical music/opera, were introduced to it by the performers that I mentioned. Also, fans of those performers probably then moved on to other artists in the genre. As for Amira, many of her fans would already have been familiar with the genre, so no converts there. Secondly, many who have been enchanted by her won't necessarily follow the genre per se, only her, so again, not all converts there. You have an opinion but no hard evidence beyond the comments some individuals may have made on one of Amira's performance clips. When she has had multiple sold out performances at La Scala, Covent Garden, Carnegie Hall etc and sold large numbers of albums (currently, only the first of her six albums has been a success in terms of sales) then there may be some chance of her moving towards the status of the performers that I mentioned. The artist that I mentioned performed in recitals, concerts and in operas. Amira so far has been limited to concerts and television appearances. Currently, her performances are limited by a combination of her age, her residing in South Africa and the decisions of her management. As far as being a true fan is concerned, there is a big difference between spending a considerable amount of money on records and concerts (and in that process watching/listening for hours) and watching a few clips on CZcams for a few minutes every now and then. If a book was produced now, listing the great performers of the classics/opera there is more chance that Amira would not get a mention than the possibility that she would. Amira may scale the heights of music history in the future but at this point, a ten year career for a twenty year old, doesn't measure up to the long, varied careers of the artist that I mentioned.

No, Amira must stay Amira and not a political correct thousand in a bucket singer. Amira,s voice is unique and because of that and many other great thing about her, her CZcams videos hase more then a billion views all together. Amira right now is studying at the music University of Pretoria and is traveling all around the world to give performances. She,s just doing it her own way and she,s very successful doing so.
