Hey man, you rock, I really appreciate the demo. I didn’t know it was that easy until I viewed your video. You save me and anyone who watches this a ton of money; best video repair on the web. Thanks again.

Hi guys, SHORT INFO: There is no need to unscrew the bolts. You can snap them inplace. But if you want to unsnap the rubber boot, it is important to take out first the rubber boot from the inside and then with a flat screw driver unsnap the rubber boot! 5 min work for each side. Just take a picture of those clippers that hold the long plastic peace. It will be easier to snap it back it after the rubbers are done. I have changed both of mine . Took time to clean all the clips and gutter as it was really dirty once I removed the the long plastic strip . Car now looks like new again .👍

Dude, thank you so much for this video! I literally bought a replacement rubber boot 2 years ago for my B6 and haven’t gotten around to changing it bc I didn’t know how and didn’t want to cough up that much money for it. I’m going to do the swap tomorrow! For me, it’s not the looks that’ll be improved, but the sound when I’m driving on the freeway.

Beautiful ride, I had the exact same car without xDrive. It was the last 650GC sold in Los Angeles as the 8 was being sold. Last year in the canyons a basketball sized rock came out of no where and I was able to center the vehicle perfect with the rock however it destroyed the entire undercarriage and vehicle got written off after needing a new subframe, engine and etc. That’s one badass ride, I miss it!

Great job and easier to do than I thought (possibly having to remove the glass). I have a 2005 645ci and the rubbers are all breaking and tearing. Now I just need to order the parts from the local stealer.

What if I just remove them without replacing them? Are they necessary?

Great job to the poster but I just did this job and you don’t have to remove the interior bellows or bolts. Have the sunroof open and remove the outer bellows after removing the body trim panel channels. Remove the clips but mark where they were originally to the body clip pins. With the new part get the grove started and push all the way forward while keeping it in the grove while pushing up. Left outer part #54107268971. Right outer part # 54107268972

Thank you for the video. You are right, there's nothing on the internet like it. I have a 640i, 2015 model and the water leaked and damaged the sliding shade because of the damaged rubber. Can you share the part number please

I also looked for the part all over the Internet no luck, and when I did find it, it was overpriced call the dealership ask the service department for your part. I paid $50 for each side.
