Crazy..my legal assiatant hours are 830 to 4 with half hour lunch
I just got done with my interview with a friend that’s a attorney and I never worked in this but I willing and open to work in new things and it’s exciting and now I’m so interested. I’m hopeful I do get hired

Hey, I was just wondering how you got on? Only as I am due to start a new job Monday in the finance department (based in the uk) but I feel so sick and it’s in a bigger establishment than my previous jobs so need loads of training on so many different things. I feel so sick 😭

I applied after college and it was one of the first law firms I interviewed for and who got back to me. The rest is history haha, but I've been there for about 2 years now 🙂
I had a legal internship during my last semester of college, but that was it as far as hands on/ legal experience.

Hi Kaz and hello from the US! I'm glad it was helpful--an update on my legal assistant experience so far will be posted very soon by tomorrow where I also talk more about the role in depth that answers your question about the qualifications : ) In my experience, it depends on the company since it's still an entry level position by most standards.

Hi Shantel 👋 I have my Bachelors in Political Science with a minor in Literature & Writing, but I don't believe that was a requirement for this specific job when I applied. I did have some administration experience and some legal experience as a legal intern while I was a student but it was in family law, not employment (where I work in now). This video explains it in more detail and I answer some other commonly asked questions I get as a legal assistant : )

I am new to the legal industry I have an interview today. What are some questions I should ask to educate myself on the job? What should I be on the lookout for ? And what advice would you give me ? What are things I should know about ‘billable hours’? Will I most likely be interviewed by the lawyer himself/herself ? Thank you!
Hey Donna, thanks for stopping by!😊 It definitely varies for each person, also which type law you’re are going into (family law, employment, etc.). First, I would recommend do your research on the company you are being interviewed for to get a feel for the company culture and also to be prepared about the company is about. When it comes to questions, I would say ask things that show you are genuinely interested and also don’t be afraid to ask realistic questions like “how many hours will I be asked to work, is there mandated over time?” so you can make an informed decision. In my experience, I was interviewed by the operations director not an attorney, but it could be different for you. The legal field can be overwhelming at first so be easy on yourself and don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t learn everything over night. Great questions and best of luck!❤️
