  • After taking the grand opening train from Orlando to Miami, I find myself back on the same train for the first revenue service to Orlando. There were many teething issues on this trip but hopefully Brightline works them out soon.

    On my end, I wish I had known that bright line does not offer refunds back to your card, they only issue credit for another ticket. My uncle that lives in another state canceled his ticket and rode the train with out any issue another day, expecting that canceled meant refund, but now they only want to issue a credit that he will never use. I wish Brightline would be more accommodating with refund situations, credit only is not practical. Just an FYI to other people, be careful before you hit the cancel button on the site.

    In trains you should hold the smartphone right next to the window. The speeding app needs 3 satellite signals to calculate the actual speed.

    What a comfortable “bright” way to travel! Easy and restful! Once they get the overbooking taken. Care of, it will be quite successful!

      Brightline should share their experience with their new starlink network service on their trains, as the first in the world train operator to use it, and share it with Amtrak, Via rail, and others, tell them all the benefits and advantages, so they can also install it on all of their trains.

    Looks really good, but they will need to get their booking (computer formats) up graded so they won’t overbook.

    Nice vlog. Thanks. I booked the first train from Boca Raton which was 7:38am, yes was there when I booked. They rescheduled it to 3:43pm and moved the backward journey to 11:35am. So, stupid. I had to cancel the trip. From my previous experience going to Miami, half of the staff is really nice while other half is really rude. Don't know what's deal. Was that lady at 31:18 yelling at you?

    question, could u feel how fast the train was going? Also with the backwards facing seats, is it any different than the forward facing ones? Thank you! :)

    • @intesaralam
      @intesaralam  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Backwards and forwards facing seats are the same. In my video we don’t go faster than 90 MPH, but in normal conditions the train maxes out at 125 MPH.

    Where did you find the map at 0:30?
    Also, great to see how busy the station was at 2:04.

    Too many trains running too fast through neighborhoods. Killed a pedestrian yesterday in Melbourne. Sadly first of many to come.

      Unfortunately, pedestrians and motorists alike ignore warning signs and gates at crossings,. Hopefully, more people learn to pay attention to crossing gates and stay off the tracks when a train is approaching.

    This truly feels like an airport designer was given a short description of what a train station is like and tried to make one without even having seen one.
    I guess it works but it just feels a bit 'off' to me in all the videos I've seen of it.
    Edit: Those platforms look very narrow to me. It'll be interesting to see how well they cope if this ever gets proper ridership.

    • @intesaralam
      @intesaralam  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I guess with their idea of a modern station is some of the first were seeing here in the US and maybe in the world. It's definetly a new take that you don't see elsewhere and you're correct it does resemble an airport a bit more. But, most new stations that we have today are usually based on some historical or legacy design. Brightline stations do feel a lot more friendly and inviting compared to any other station I've seen in the US.
      But the platforms are actually very wide compared to any other platform I've seen. The stairs they use are also pretty wide as well as they seem more like something I'd see at a convention center rather than a station.

      @@intesaralam Sorry but that's just funny calling this one of the first new stations in the world.
      New stations are constantly being built all around the world.
      I will admit that the US station I have seen in person is Penn Station, NYC and that was almost worse than having no station at all.
      The Brightline stations seem to work fine nut the platforms are definitely narrow for modern standards and it all seems a but grand for the tiny trains they use.

    Okay, here are the issues I have with this video are these. It appears you're doing mostly voice-over, which is courteous. But there's also LOTS of real-time narration, and I don't think that is polite. I can imagine, given that you said it's a peaceful environment on Brightline, that your narration is super-annoying to other first class passengers. The seats are reserved so it's not like people can move away from you. It's kind of superfluous and it does not add any value to your video. E.g. , train stopped. That's what trains do! That does not characterize a train voyage as "chaotic and it definitely does not need your ongoing verbal description.. Worse, you're filming LOTS of passengers without their permission. If that was me, I'd be furious. You can tell at least a few are annoyed. It's not a terrible video, and there's some good information here, but it's not like there haven't been dozens of others on CZcams pretty much just like this. I think amateur videographers and content makers need to be a LOT more aware of the rights of others and try to be as unobtrusive as possible. This video just seems so invasive.
