      @JennnSaidWhat Před 5 lety +20

      Stephanie Rembert I use different ones, I’m not loyal to any particular brand. My only criteria is that it’s from grass-fed cows & it mixes well. Currently using the same brand she showed in this video, but there are others at different price points.
      The powder is what I started off with but got annoyed having to always mix it when I’m in a rush, so then took capsules. Capsules are convenient if you’re always on the go. They worked equally the same for me. The hair and nail growth is amazing though. Try to take with a source of vitamin C for better absorption too. Good luck on your journey!

      Mz Tweety most grocery stores or pharmacies have a collagen pill form in vitamin section but unless it says from grass-fed, I don’t take it. Stores like Vitamin Shoppe or GNC will carry a range of different collagens, grass fed included. I use Amazon or Vitamin Shoppe. Hope that helps some!

    If you're not doing it already by now, when you deal with powders that don't mix well--pour the powder in first. Add a little liquid at bottom of the glass to get it into paste to blend it better, working out any clumps and air bubbles. Once it's mixed well, then slowly add more of your beverage. I learned that from dealing with full-fat powdered milk.

    Thank you MD for the sane, intelligent, science-based, sound advice finally on YT about what to take for hair health. Collagen is also good for skin, nails, bones, and connective tissue like cartilage, ligaments and tendons. I use collagen but not consistently, and your video inspired me to get more consistent. I do consistently use bone/meat broths which are also full of collagen. Properly made broth takes on a jelly-like consistency when cold, letting you know it's full of collagen. I use only grass-fed pastured beef or organic free-range chicken. Do not make broth from commercially raised animals. I make veggie soups and cook beans/legumes and other veggies like cabbage, kale, mustard greens, bok choy, green beans etc. in broth instead of water. The comments below on diatomaceous earth (DE) are also on point because it is so high in silica. With the collagen, DE, a little biotin (mega doses not necessary) along with the rest of the b-complex family of vitamins --- this sounds like the making of a great hair health protocol. Thanks again.

Having to shave every single day, waxing every 2 weeks vs once a month. It's a small price to pay for beautiful hair, skin and nails but damn.

    Your video inspired me to find a 30-day supply of collagen powder in my price range. I'm very glad you mentioned that you switched from pills to powder -- It made me suspect that as brittle as my hair, nails, and joints were, I'd get better results by doing the opposite. I was supposed to wait 30 to 60 days before seeing results from the powder, but in less than a week, the aches in my joints started diminishing. After 21 days during which my nails brightened, my hair became more touchable, and I stopped pulling up my cheekbones to see how I'd look with a facelift, I bought collagen pills and alternated taking one with the powder until the powder ran out. Now I'm on pills daily and still doing great -- Thanks!

MSM is a detoxifier (I use the powdered form that is 100% MSM with zero fillers). At first, you might experience a bit of bloating in the stomach. You just decrease the amounts and begin to increase as your body can tolerate it. I had the same experience with this collagen. But I have to tell you, they are both just wonderful!

My wrist was making a crunchy sound whenever I rotated it and within about six weeks, I NO longer had the issue nor the pain associated with it. I need to start back using it because it really does help with many other body and beauty things like you stated with the hair growth. By the way, that was three years ago and I am still uncrunchy and pain free so the effects were LASTING.

    I've just started using it 3 days ago hoping it will help with an old knee injury and back pain. I see some comments saying it can make your blood pressure go up. I haven't noticed this in the 3 days that I've been using it, but the brand that use also doesn't contain sodium. There would have to be some type of salt present in order for this to occur since salt follows water. This is why those with hypertension are instructed to lower their dietary salt intake and are usually placed on diuretics (meds that make you urinate more often getting rid of fluids to lower BP). There are other types of antihypertentive meds, but most people are started on some type of diuretic first with HCT (hydrochlorothiazide) being the most common. HCT can also lower your potassium levels. Norvasc is a calcium channel blocker and seems to be more effective in people of African descent than drugs like HCT, but sodium intake should still be monitored and lowered in addition to other healthier dietary choices, staying well hydrated, and exercise for overall health. This particular brand shown in the video does contain sodium (60 mg according to it's list of ingredients) so just be sure to read the label and as stated consult with your doctor about taking any supplements. I don't take mine with anything but warm water and I take it on an empty stomach as directed on the back of the container of the brand that I use. It's tasteless and has a slight odor to it but nothing overpowering and so far no noticeable adverse reactions. My goal is to take it for a month and then reassess while monitoring for any improvements and/or negative side effects within that time frame before continuing.

      @@sabrinaalston1243 I know this comment is old, but I would just get gummies biotin instead. It’s cheaper, less cumbersome to take, and I got the same results with gummies than I got paying twice as much for a highly rated liquid biotin on Amazon. Brand of gummies I use is the YumVs. Comes in a raspberry flavor on Amazon. 50 day supply is only like $10. I use the 5000mcg, but I know they have a 10,000 one available.
      My logic with the gummies is people take the liquid because it’s quick/efficient to absorb, right? Well when you suck on the gummies rather than chewing it (or chew thoroughly)….then it’s literally getting absorbed in the same exact way as costlier liquid biotin.

I've also gone back old school with putting Shapley's Original M-T-G Oil and every week I see growth. I massage drops of that on my scalp (in the summer months because the heat intensifies the sulfur smell) at night twice a week but in the winter months every other day. Even one of my guy friends that had hair transplants done and suffers from Alopecia has been using it everyday and every week I see him the results are amazing.
