I prefer a video in which someone just walks around his car, or shows a video of his dash, after having installed the cruise control.... said no one ever.

The problem is that cruise only works whilst driving & we cannot film whilst driving, unless I bring an employee with me

My base model 2007 VW Caddy has cruise control, ASR/ESP, power windows and mirrors, headlamp adjustment button (which is handy as I've lifted my van a couple of inches) and air-conditioning, no heater as its not needed where I am, in Australia. The first owner was a small business owner and must have had the options included for his comfort

joseph dowds Yes, VCDS is a popular option for coding & code after installing & clear fault codes. The Fuel Computer would require the Dash Cluster with the LCD Screen & DIS Wiper Stalk

My Leon has a black and white wire in the terminal on the steering module ? Any ideas I have changed the steering control module and put the stalk on also another steering wheel to control the audio . So do the engine ecu and the squib ring have to be programmed. . Or do I replace this wire
Yes the steering wheel module & ECU require coding.
As per our conversation on eBay, if you have the ECU wire, it doesn't need replacing
I have a 2011 Skoda Yeti ( J623-CLCB) I have changed the stalk and slip ring and coded too but CC does'nt gets activate what would be the issue ???

so I guess wipers need to be removed for the wire installation. Is that black cover under the wipers glued in place? So I would have to glue it back on?
Yes the wiper arms need to be removed & the cover has 3 x 10mm nuts holding it on
i have a red steering wheel warning on my golf no power steering, steering went when i tried to start the car after shopping it failed to start first time and this fault appeared any ideas cheers
Try turning the steering wheel lock to lock & hold it at each end for 10seconds, to see if just needs to learn the end position. If that fails, you'll need it scanning to read the fault code & it maybe 00778
Apparently you can access the blue plug from behind under the steering wheel. No need to remove stuff in the engine bay.
This is incorrect, as you have the locking bar holding down all the connectors @3:56 & then each connector has it own locking strip, so it would be impossible to insert the wire without removing these first.

Impossible, as there is 2 bars blocking you, from inputting the wire into the connector, without removing it first

As per the video the Control Wire plugs into the blue connector behind the wiper motor housing.
Have you checked the wire is not already in place on PIN13 of Steering Module?
Ensure that the Steering Module is Cruise Compatible & that the Steering Module & the ECU are correctly coded.
If all correct, then use the Measuring Blocks to see where the problem is

Are the mk5 like the mk4 as in the diesels are already wired for cruise control or do all mk5 need the wiring added? I have a 2005 2.0 GTTDI (engine BKD)Golf plus I want to add cruise control too.
Most early 2004/2005 MK5 Golf's are missing the wire, check PIN13 of the black connector on the steering module, although we do include it our kits, available on vwgolfr32.co.uk/shop/CCS-MK5-Golf.htm

Presuming you've fitted a New Genuine VW Stalk?
Have you used the measuring blocks to see the Stalk working along with the Brake / Clutch Switches?

Would a 15 plate Tiguan be wired up ready to fit stalk. ?
2015 Tiguan requires a completely different stalk & a Slip Ring. No wiring required.

MFSW = Highline, although not all Highline modules are Cruise compatible
Hello, do you know how to install new cruise control on vw tiguan 2016, when I bought new part with cruise control from vw on the package came two levers control with cruise control, stering wheel modul with stering angel on it together and a wire, do you know if I need to use this wire on this model and most difficult thing is coding for this model, if someone has experience with this thing will be helpfull for me thanks
Slightly different fitting & PIN5 on the slip ring needs checking for the ECU Wire
Tiguan will not require the ECU Wire
Mainly 2009 VW Golf Cabriolet & Passat require it

If you don't have the blue connector & no wire in pin 13, the ECU Wire will need running directly into the ECU

Exactly the same method as shown in the video, except you run the wire along to the ECU.
If you're buying the parts from us, let us know & we can include the correct wire.

Hello mate i want to install Cruise control in my car golf 1.9d 2006 ive gone to volkswagen and they say that they charge 200 dollars just to see if my car takes Cruise control, but according to some it seems like any golf from that year takes Cruise as long as you change out control module, or am i wrong? I would apreciate if you answer please. And if you dont know the answer, is there a way i can find out on the internet if my car takes cruise.
My car has a display that shows how much diesel it consumes, it shows how many kilometer i have left in the tank, shows temperature and so on.

If you have the Trip button or a MFSW, then the Steering Module is a Midline/Highline which most are Cruise compatible. Even if it's not compatible, then you can buy a used module & swap them out.
If you know the part number of the module then you can look it up on Ross Tech Wiki; wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Steering_Wheel_Control_Module_Versions#Part_Number_1K0-953-549
We've never come across a MK5 Golf that is not Cruise Compatible, some just need more parts & Early 2004/2005 models require the wire as per the video.

I used Delphi software and entered code for cruise control activation. But my steering control module I've fitted I need the codes to access and set it up as I have no wipers indicators horn. . Any ideas where these can be obtained?
Use the original coding & change the appropriate digit for cruise

Same problem here, but I have a Caddy 1,9 TDI BLS. The wire was already installed.

gezim kola The wire does not actually go-to the ECU on the MK5 Golf. Only between the Steering Module & connectors under the wiper motor
Maybe I was not correct, but I meant the connector you mentioned. In my case I don't have a blue connector. I installed the switch, made the configuration, and know I've error (vcds scanning) 02071-Local databus 004-No signal/communication - Intermittent

i have 2010 vw jetta 1.6tdi jetta primeline dsg. İ use 1k0....ch module and 1K0953513G stalk. İ ve don the require coding on vcds but i get implausible signal error. on vcds. on mf display, on car have err message on the right of the cc symbol. İt can be a problem with cruise control stalk?
Did you use a Genuine VW Stalk, as there is a lot of Fakes, that just don't work or fail after a short time.
Also have you coded the ECU & Steering Module.
You can also use Measuring Blocks to see the Cruise Stalk Buttons working

eM Yes that should be correct. Only the early 2004/2005 MK5 Golf's had the wire missing. The Golf in the Video is a 2004 model
