Permaculture Living at Stewart Wood Community

Steward Community Woodland is a permaculture project which aims to demonstrate the value of integrating conservation woodland management techniques with organic growing, traditional skills and crafts and low-impact sustainable living in Dartmoor National Park. Last year, they received 5 year temporary planning permission to continue their experimental project.

How do they know that the rate of timber extraction from the woodland to support heating, cooking and building requirements is sustainable by the woodland and that they are doing it no harm? Is there a woodland management plan?
