We just purchased Brother's latest embroidery and sewing machine, the SE2000. Fresh pulled it out of the box, and less than an hour later, Felicia had embroidered a built-in monogram, two designs, a custom logo digitized by Zdesigns.com, and a line drawing she made on the Artspira app! Love the jump stitch feature as well as the wireless connectivity. But....I wish they would have done a slide in hoop instead of the clunky way it's done. I have a se1900 and easily 50% of the time the hoop won't engage with the embroidery arm.
That would be an improvement. I the jump stitch feature is so nice and a timesaver.
Wow! I'm sold for that price. I bought a computerized Singer HD about a year ago and have been so disappointed with it. Does not do what it says. I had looked at several of the Brother machines. On my wish list now for sure!

Can you use the larger magnet hoops on this machine.

Using the horizontal spool pin for that spool of 60wt bobbin thread makes the thread twist as it pulls off. You need to take thread off that spool from the side so it will not twist.

Hi, I have a few questions, I want to start embroidery with designs. First question is if you suggest a single colour, if it exists, machine to learn and practice? Also with this machine do you need to change the thread based on the colour? Does the machine do it automatically? What format is supported for designs ? What is the software name ? Please let me know
The Brother SE2000 can only stitch one color at a time. When stitching a multi-color design, the machine will stop and prompt you to change the color when it's time. Once you get the hang of threading the machine, you can do this quick. The Brother machines support PES file formats. You can purchase digitizing software, but I have not gone down that path yet. We use a service called ZDigitizing - www.ZDigitizing.com for all our digitizing needs. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

thanks. Waiting to hear if my 1900 can be repaired or not, so have one of these on my list to grab if it can’t. Question - is the embroidery unit of the 1900 the same size as the one for the 2000? Because IF it is, then I think my huge Westalee Sew Steady Wish Table (for quilting) will fit. (Custom to the 1900) -
Yes. The 1900 and 2000 using a 5x7 hoop.
I know they share hoops but is the embroidery arm/unit the same size for both of them? Because if it is then I think there is a 99% chance my big $$ Wish Table for quilting will fit on the 2000 as well as my 1900 - which maybe, is probably, dead
I just got this machine. Do you know if you can do multiple patches on hoop or just have to do one at a time and switch thread for each? Cant figure that out.
I haven't tried this yet, but if your designs are sized right and you can fit them within the 5x7 hoop, you should be able to do multiple. Since this is a single thread machine, you will have to change colors when prompted.
Does the Magnetic hoop you added in your links work for the SE2000?

I haven't tried it, but there is an option to "import external files" under My Creations in the app.
Hi! My bf bought me this and it came with 8x8 embroidery stabilizer sheets. I know they’re smaller than the ones you’re using. Do you think it could still work? Or should I order the 10x12?
I do think it will still work and would give it a try.
Will that machine sew sideways ? I have an older version that does but don't know if the new machines have that.

I just received this perfect machine, I’m beginner. And I tried few design and the white thread from bobbin appear on the front mixing with colorful thread on design. I don’t know how I can remove this bobbin thread on my design and why it didn’t working as a one color without this bobbin color together 😢

Is the Se1900 also wireless connection?

I just set mine up and I don’t know what I’m doing wrong or how to fix it. I’m testing embroidering a word on a T-shirt. The first letter I can almost only see the bobbin thread. I read in the manual that that means I needed to lessen the tension. So I did but I can still fully see the bobbin and just a little of the coloured thread. So I lessened the tension more. And it’s even worse. I don’t know how to fix it. Do you have any tips?

Hi these will not work in my country United Kingdom without a voltage/watts converter unit, running on 110 to 240, I wondered is there an alternative for us here? Or is there another model for us here as some say we have same or similar but have different model numbers? I was going to buy one or one that's the same in UK please can you help me select a model that will be very similar and can work in UK with out voltage

why No ONE is warning people that the software ONLY work on PC, I have a MAC , so what do I do now ??
No software needed to use the SE2000 unless you’re using some type of digitizing software. I don’t use one but send my designs to ZDigitizing. They’re fast.

If I've started an embroidery, finished the first color & had to turn off the machine, how to start again with the 2nd color ?
I haven't done that before, but you should be able to do just that. I would remove the hoop before turning the machine back on and then reattach after it's up and running. You should see a message on the screen about continuing...at least I think.
can i do quilting with this machine? what 'foot' do i have to use?
I haven’t tried quilting yet but searched Brothers site and found this - “Any machine can quilt, although smaller machines may limit the size of quilting projects. I really enjoyed your video, but I noticed that you did not thread the machine correctly to fill the bobbin. You missed a step that keeps tension on the thread.
Interesting. Didn’t realize it and had zero issues with tension after using that whole bobbin of thread. Maybe my way is just as good. Great machine!

Whyndidnt you sing bobbin winding thread around tensioning part as in diagram? I’ve had 1900 4 years and they would be same ?
They are the same and I could have but what I did worked so I went with it. 🙂
Can anyone give any suggestions for why I have to keep rethreading after a jump stitch trim? It only stays correctly threaded like a third of the time after a jump stitch trim
When it works there is about an inch of thread hanging off the needle. When it doesnt work it kind of looks like the thread is not getting cut completely and instead it is pulling apart causing the upper thread to snap up
Any help would be appreciated
Solved: pretty sure my issue was the mesh sleeve around the spool creating too much tension. Once removed, pretty much all the trims were good and no more upper thread pulling.

Does it matter what brand and size you need to upload from a drive? I tried several and they all give an error.
Not sure I understand the question, but the file type needs to be PES. This machine can only embroidery up to 5x7. Hope this helps.
I'm sorry I wasn't clear. Every USB I put in my Brother machine, it gave me an error saying it can't read that USB. I was curious if there was a certain brand and size USB is needed to upload images from the drive to the embroidery? Thanks
