I have asked my mother about some of the items she has cooked because we never got them as a child but my mother says yes she remembers items such as rutabaga I remember that name from when I was a child I'm 70 and my mother is still alive at 90.

My father-in-law used to make that tomato cucumber salad almost every Sunday. He would slice it on a plate and pour Italian dressing over it and let it sit for a while. I liked to top my greens with it. Delicious! 😋

Everyone does their potatoe salad different I never ever add onions but I do put eggs and dice celery and sweet relish than add my herbs no salt!! love a dash of Hungarian paprika herbs a pinch of sugar than add my dressing and mix ,sometime I might put just a tiny drop of mustard very very little
