Sweet lights/disco setup on the GX. I was that dad that pulled my kids out of school many Fridays for offroad trips for years but around seventh grade the teachers shut it down. I miss getting the jump on the best campsites.

Did you wire the factory puddle lights to the rock lights?
Not a bad idea but I didn’t. The rock lights are much brighter than the puddle lights and I’m thinking this is the winter I weld some sliders up so the running boards aren’t long for this world : ) You’d also have to make a custom harness to get the puddle lights tied in which might get complicated since the rock lights are LED low wattage and the puddles are halogens.
@@WastingTimeInTheWoods The puddle lights are BRIGHT if you get a cheap Amazon LED light kit. I'm running sliders, but just removed the lenses from the running boards and zip tied them up there. I'm wondering if the wiring is sufficient to also power some rock lights....or maybe I can tap into the rock light wiring to ALSO provide a second power source to the puddle lights.
Plenty of LX owners just plug LED rock lights into the existing puddle light circuits. They come on when you open the door and automatically shut off when you lock the car!
@@authenthuse5165 Sure, although that doesn't help your spotter much if it only works when the door is open
