Love how Geddy is looking at Alex during the solo, seeing and knowing Alex is killing it!
I watched them perform that live since the album was released. It was always a joy to hear that one in concert. It instantly became a fan favorite, and rightfully so. It's a great song.
Powerful and dynamic, what these guys are known for. Wish I had seen them more than once.
I've seen them do it live more times than I can count. And they never fail to hit that third "salesmen".🤘
@@JimiBurleigh its practically required!
I love it when you say The Spirit of “THE” radio. It shows you are new to Rush….
For sure
@@breakdownlounge9541 what style of music do you like best? I can point you in the right direction to Rush songs that match your liking…
@@thatsnice99 I'm a little all over but blues, metal, prog rock, tend to be my biggest listens.
@@breakdownlounge9541 blues/jazz-wheres my thing.
Metal- 2112 in Rio/ Diven in Rio
Prog - La Villa/Natural Science
This was actually taken from SARStock where their were 500,000+ people to see a whole bunch of (mostly Canadian) bands, after Rush came AC/DC and headlined by the Rolling Stones (thus the Paint it Black)
What a wild concert that had to have been. I couldn't believe ACDC followed at the end of the video.
The keypad instrument Peart plays is a MalletKat Express MIDI pad sampler
Thanks so much! Cool sounding instrument.
@@breakdownlounge9541 he uses it a lot in his drum solos.
Rush is by far my favorite band. I saw them live twice the Vapor Trails tour at the Woodlands, Tx in 2004 and the Snakes and Arrows tour in Dallas in 2007 both times were birthday presents greatest birthday present ever. I am lucky I got to see them my only regret was not taking my 2 sons to see them live. I have seen interviews with fans that have seen them a hundred times or more. One fan interviewed I believe it was the Time Machine tour had seen them live on every tour except Signals. Neil was such a profound lyricist and poet and of course the greatest drummer ever. If you were able to see them live you bet you got your monies worth.
What amazing memories! And great bday gifts!
Thanks for getting to this live performance. I really liked the Stones intro. Keep the great reactions coming, and watch where you step!
Will do!!
La Villa Strangiato next please. if you haven't done it yet!
Will keep that one in mind, thank you.
I would recommend Limelight in studio next. Also, the in studio of Spirit of Radio has been reworked to include a tribute to Neil at the end. Thanks for showing this.
Thank you!
Thank YOU
Glad to see you got out of that NY hospital New Amsterdam
This show actually took place after they released Vapor Trails, the album that came before Snakes And Arrows; you can see the album artwork pictured on Neil's bass drum. With regards to The Spirit Of Radio, he wrote it as a commentary on how the music industry was becoming increasingly commercialized; for more commentary, I recommend 2112, as performed at Toronto's Molson Amphitheater in 1997, their 7 part, 20 minute, side-long middle finger to record execs who were threatening to drop them after their third album if they didn't come up with more short, radio-friendly songs. Cheers from Canada! 🇨🇦

Many thanks!
I like your video list. Not as many "esoteric" (in my opinion) as many are.

No! ‘Dog shit on my pant leg’ is a COUNTRY song…
My next song reaction? hmmmm...
Dog shit on your pant leg, not fun. How did that happen?
My brother's dog. Was helping my gma get some oranges out the tree, guess I stepped on some organic fertilizer under there.
Kudos for being a good grandson. Shit happens!
