Haverford Boys take Ballet at The Rock School

- The Rock School and the Haverford School have a student exchange for a day twice a year. This video features part II of our exchange when the Haverford School boys learn what it takes to be a ballet dancer.
During part I, The Rock School paid the Haverford School a visit and performed on the stage of Centennial Hall. After the performance, students from both schools were paired up for the day to experience the differences and similarities between a ballet conservatory school and a prepatory all boys school.

I love this idea...but watching them land jumps without their heels coming down is painful.
lol being a ballet dancer is alot harder then it looks iv always known that alot of dancing in general takes work especially this type when its all about perfect form

Sorry, way way too much Main Line for me. The Rock School kids are unbelievably talented. I guess these guys will develop an appreciation for ballet, maybe. I was in their 2006 production of the Nutcracker as an adult volunteer and have seen the downtown kids they are great.

Why guys do ballet: you are probably the only or one of few guys in a room full or beautiful ladies who you get to partner with in a romantic dance. Guys join ballet if you are mildly fit and want a girlfriend. Smaller studios sometimes give boys discounts or rushed training!
Or because they love dancing. I’m a male ballet dancer and don’t give a fuck about the girls in my class. 🙄
