UNH Bring a Boy to Ballet Day

- Ten years ago University of New Hampshire professor Larry Robertson wanted more men interested in his ballet classes, so he started Bring A Boy To Ballet Day. When he retired last year, he asked that the department carry on the tradition.

This is a nice idea. Men often think that ballet is "for girls" and don't realise how tough it is, how much strength and dedication it takes to do the simplest movement. They get distracted by the aesthetic part, which is of course essential in ballet.

What an opportunity and honor! Nothing like this ever happened at my college.
I don't have many friends that are girls in ballet but if a girl asked me to this for her, I would do it to show that I'm a true friend.

This has been more than a few years ago but here's a good blast from the past. My ex-boyfriend did ballet classes all the time. To my knowledge, I think he briefly danced for one company! It was about a year after we stopped seeing one another when a friend of mine told me "that she had seen him dancing at a Night Club." I was sort of nonchalant about it until she nervously laughed and told me "that he was stripping down a G-string and performing what were called 'Live Striptease Love Shows' with girls. I nearly died at hearing this! Turns out, he wasn't just going down to strictly a G-string either. For a price and a private showroom he and a girl would actually go full nude. Bet none of you have ever been to a strip joint that had such acts?

Bring a guy to watch slim, flexible, tight-wearing clothes girls stretching? Yeah, not bad idea, I'm sure they will leave the studio with so much insights about ballet (because it takes one class to understand it, not years and years of training, right?), not with the head full of dirty thoughts.
The cutest thing in that whole concept are the comments - it is astonishing how naive girls can be. "So cute!"... really...?
