The Pacific white skate may wait more than four years for its eggs to hatch. What do you think about the skate's unique incubation behavior? To learn more about why the Pacific white skates lay their eggs near hydrothermal vents, please check out this article: bit.ly/2nOL9eB
I really love you NatGeo and don't want to stir up um... stuff, but how come you appear to be taking EVNautilus footage without even a mention or credit? It seems wrong to me. czcams.com/video/l754HwWvSOU/video.html
My first thought was that they were shark eggs, since their eggs look very similar (and are called "Mermaids Purses"). It makes sense that it was a skate, then lol..
Detective Sculpin knew he had a breakthrough in the snatcher crime spree case when one of his hagfish informants told him about the remote vent location where the stolen mermaid's purses were being disposed of.
Kids: Mom, how did we come outta eggs so soon? 🙄 Mom: Cuz I baked you in a natural oven. 🌚I'll show you when you have your own kids. Kids: Cool. We are called the Hydrothermal Generation. 🤤
This was undoubtedly most curious. But I really want to again praise that quintessentially National Geographic, and altogether mellifluous closer. No other closer have I enjoyed - indeed, wanted more of - on all of CZcams.
I would imagine this would be an ideal home for the The Shape Of Water creature. I can picture him circling around the rocks. Just a random thought. Interesting video 😉
750 Fahrenheit... Why are you forcing an immense amount of people to pause the video to convert a value into Celsius. While Fahrenheit is only used by just 5 countries or so!
Exploring the wonders and specimen of sea is good for our knowledge, but dont you fool guys think they have their own life to live. Why you always disturbing them. You know what, we are not saving sea creatures or our environment but we are saving ourselves of pollution and harm we had done to aquatic and land life.
Does anybody know about a sea creature that lays eggs that look like chicken eggs? I saw four of them today at the bottom of the sea near the shore in relatively shallow water about 4 M deep. I've never seen anything like that before. There are a few boats that park near there I guess someone could have thrown them in the water from the boat but I'm not sure why someone would be bringing chicken eggs out on a boat for. We do have a lot of fish and sea life in the area. and eagle rays.

My first thought was that they were shark eggs, since their eggs look very similar (and are called "Mermaids Purses"). It makes sense that it was a skate, then lol..
Cool thanks for the pocket of knowledge :)
750°F ~ 400°C
The water should've been evaporated in that temperature
It must hurt to lay an egg that shape
lastniceguy1 Well, the scate is kinda the same shape
Oh look! You found my tamales that fell off my boat. Thank you very much
It looks like that episode of Spongebob where Spongebob and Patrick sneak inside of Squidwards house to find that
Speed of incubation by YEARS?, how long would they take to hatch otherwise?, and why wouldn't something eat them in that time?
Sharks, yeah, right... Clearly alien material.
Huh. So all this time my little sister was riding on her skate, she was actually riding on a relative of the shark. Fascinating!
The beauty of nature..!!
Greetings Earthlings! 👋👽 I brought Pizza for all of you... Enjoy! 🍕
Its a mexican tamal XD

From Sri Lanka 🇱🇰❤️
Absolutely fascinating.
Clever
Boiled eggs 🥚 anyone ❗️but joking aside, yet another fascinating vid from Nat Geo - thanks :)
boiled eggs sound good to me, you just gave me inspiration for breakfast. with toast soldiers dipped in lol
dang subnautica is running really well!
This was undoubtedly most curious. But I really want to again praise that quintessentially National Geographic, and altogether mellifluous closer. No other closer have I enjoyed - indeed, wanted more of - on all of CZcams.
I like how the deep sea scientific research robotic arm has "PREDATOR" inscribed on the side of it. Either dry humor or a naming failure 🤗
dang that robot arm was not gentle at grabbing those eggs lol
Ravioli
This channel never bores me..
the ocean is a other world where we can fly
Sky chan *cough in spanish* you mean, *_DROWN_*
Fabian Alfonso yes you can not breathe in this other world, like other fish. so you require protection to be able to fly.
I would imagine this would be an ideal home for the The Shape Of Water creature. I can picture him circling around the rocks. Just a random thought. Interesting video 😉
loved this sort of footage, LF to watch more of it
I used to see those types of eggs on the beaches here as a kid. I live in atlantic canada though.
state of the art milk crate basket
"Speeds up the incubation process by months or YEARS"???
Thank you
Astronomy or oceanography,ughhh still debating
Makes sense they would put them there when everywhere else is super cold.
Thank you science
Lol idk about the handling of that egg sack
Clever girl
I guess the eggs would hatch b4 you can hard boil them ;o)
Oh, are ya now
Amazing!!❤️🙂😃👍👌
Toxic is a word with another meaning to me after this incredible evidence. Evolution is awesome.
Fascinating
Those r shark Ray or skate eggs I know just by looking, what an ingenious way to incubate eggs !!
These aren’t a new discovery. North Carolina has them littered over the beaches and in local museums.
We call them mermaids purse in the UK! Find them on the seashore.
The aptly named _Predator_
And that's how other life forms are living in suave with just water
Someone drop there pizza rolls under the sea
At 1:18 you can see squidwards house in the background.
Looks like mermaid purses... Skates are a relative of that shark so it makes sense
Cool!!!!
750 Fahrenheit... Why are you forcing an immense amount of people to pause the video to convert a value into Celsius. While Fahrenheit is only used by just 5 countries or so!
Is no one thinking here about the small aliens in Half Life 2?? It's exactly the same!
Amazing
*The hot pockets of the sea*
Song at end?
Weird choice of music, but otherwise very interesting.
This ravioli tastes very fishy, what pasta sauce do you recommend?🍽
I thought it was an humita (chilean traditional dish)
The eggs look like tamales
Nice ravioli
Skate away, that's all....
Dire Straits
I would guess, marianah trench is the deepest sea.
What's the music name please ?
Those are leaf-munched looking thing
Shark egg pouch
Celzius
I love Nat Geo they know all about Science
😕 I didn't get it. Is the egg the flatted thing that the robotic arm took?
are they edible? and if they are, does the temp down there mean they are already pre cooked? 😶
Shark eggs wash up on shore once in a while
Looks like ravioli

Meaning animal are way smarter than what human have thought
Very cool channel : )
Cool

Ravioli di mare

Leave the eggs alone

Poor egg got squashed by the stupid robot
The water pressure is likely to be greater then that.
Russian SPY if you dont really know anything about the technology dont comment
Russian SPY I didn't see it get squashed
That egg was even named " PREDATOR"
there are millions of animals dying everyday.. and some humans also dying everday.
it's normal.
