The fights aboard are fun. But the inability to interact with a lot of the environment on island and the roadblocks everywhere were a shocker for me
Yeah it's pretty linear and shallow sadly. For the price they are asking, it's too high.

I've been enjoying this game a lot. The story is what you would except from an MMO style game, but it's still good. There's plenty of side missions, jobs and bounties to keep you busy. The Helm is also a neat way to add more immersion to the game by letting you make alcohol and drugs and sell them.
The naval combat is where the game truly shines. Which is kind of the point, since the games focus is on naval combat. There's a decent amount of ships to keep you busy, and there's plenty of options for how you want to set up your ship. The open seas don't feel empty either. There's always faction ships roaming around, whether they are gathering materials, on a trade route delivering goods or defending their ports/settlements. And the different factions will actually engage in combat with each other. And then there are rogues and privateers. Which can honestly be a pain in the butt.
There are only two complaints I have. One is a major issue, the second is just something I would want Ubisoft to add.
1). Every so often the game will just disconnect from the server, booting me from the game. I'm playing on Series x and I have decent Internet. I have looked into it and seems to be a server issue on Ubisofts end, so hopefully they fix it asap. Keep in mind this is my own experience, and doesn't at all represent everyone else's experience. So please keep that in mind.
2). I want them to add more customization to ships. Like I want the furniture to be shown on the ships, and it would be cool if you could actually place them on your ship.

i hate how immersive it isn't. Like I imagine 90% of encounters like this in real life were done with the goal of boarding and stealing from the other ship. :/

Black flag is extremely arcady though. But i get ur point, the sense of it being even remotely realistic or historically accurate is all gone. 😢
@@lowkeycantsleep6062 black flag presented it self in a far more appropriate way. You were at the captains helm commanding your ship. The cannons shot at one time, there was reload time.
In skull and bones you can fight from out side the ship or in the middle of the ship, and all the guns fire one at a time making it look like your shooting full auto cannons
@@AmbroseBoaBowieAll the things you named above does not effect wether a game is less or more arcady. Their just visual changes plus reload time. Less arcady would mean less movement mid fight, strategy and preparation before fight, implemented damage - effect physics, shooting sails or mast would decrease speed, shooting at the hull could cause Canons to break and crew to die, or shooting at the ships rear would decrease maneuverability etc. Arcady is not visuals or reload time. Even though reload time will most certainly be a part of skull and bones too lmao. And furthermore, black flag presented you as a helmsman not a ship chaptain, even though you were a captain. There are many reasons why a captain does not steer the ship. Pirates in black flag calls out Edward for steering his own ship, its odd. Same in AC rogue.
Captains helm is not a thing.
The problem with skull and bones is that it doesnt represent itself akin to reality, its over dramatized and overdone in a fantasy style.
Think back flag naval combat and cod ww2 open pregame lobby
@@AmbroseBoaBowie So, I don't know for S&B, but shoting canons one after another had some purpose in other games, like Naval Action for example. You use only 1 or 2 shot to jauge the accuracy, ballistics.
I think there could be practical purpose that we dont't even know to control how many canons you shoot

So hopefully the game will be different I don't care o like it tbh people that play 24/7 a day will be burnt out on any game that's why I don't listen to people because every game that comes out is bad or crap but we all still play them

Just finished my 6hr beta and holy shit this game is so much fun, so much to do and the graphics are amazing, kinda a mix of black flag and sea of thieves in my opinion but for how the game already is, excited for it to come out

No hand to hand combat and no boarding the moment they said that I knew this game was gonna be a flop especially since it’s Ubisoft servers are gonna be down 75% of the time

They wanted to cancel it because the original concept wasn’t good, but they took funding from the Singapore government and were contractually obligated to release it or phase a massive fine. So they scraped everything in 2020-ish and started from scratch.

I would of rathered it be a pvp ship skirmish game only like they originally advertised.
