Another excellent piece that is new to me. There is something about the sound of the lute which lends itself to these oriental pieces. Thanks Daniel. CJR

Carolina.

As always, a truly lovely video. I always look forward to seeing them in my subscription boxes. Quick question though, how did you learn the Lute? Like techniques and such? I'm pretty young and I'd like to take advantage of the time to master lute instruments such as the guitar and mandolin! You're kind of an inspiration for me. Thank you.
Warmly,
Coniferous.
Thanks! I played classical and rock guitar for about 10 years before getting a lute. There are quite a few fingerstyle similarities, also some differences which make it interesting. It takes a lot of time and dedication but you'll get there if you keep at it. best wishes
It’s a Western instrument but because of the scale used it makes it sound like a shamisen
maybe... I'd have to do some research
That was beautiful......I know this series.....think I got it downloaded somewhere.......silly question time.....why the fingerless glove?......anything to do with playing?
Thanks for listening! google "wristies"
How long do you take to learn a new piece on the lute? I find it baffling how often you upload! Never stop doing your thing; your very admirable thing 😁
It depends on the difficulty of the piece. Arranging takes multi-hours. At this point recording music is the best form of artistic expression for me. I can't do it forever, of course, but for now it's very rewarding and great to get feedback like your comment.
Incredible!
Can you play Bourre BWV 996?
Thanks Paulo! I don't have Bach's catalog in my head - how does that one go?
oh, the famous one...no, I don't think so.It's a very clever piece and the counterpoint is amazing, but it's so overdone that people think it's the only bouree
that Bach wrote. Also, I've noticed when players perform this in concert they almost always screw up somehow. The piece has some kind of a jinx on it.
Of course, one can record it over and over until a good one happens, but I think I'll pass and play some other lesser known Bach.
