Have always enjoyed your narrow boat journeys, and your van journey to Italy via Germany is amazing. Being stateside, and in my 70's, I'll never see what you're seeing in person, so I much appreciate seeing it through your CZcams channel. Happy trails. 🚑

So happy you like Germany. My wife was there for 17 years with the UK army and so knew the language. I loved Germany as well. We went several times a year for the last 20 years, mostly along the Mosel river and the Rhine. Beautiful. Lake Garda - There is a route over the mountains on the west side of Garda, more scenic, steeper and exceedingly twisty that gives access to Gargnano on the west side of the lake. I have visited Sirmione several times - never saw a camp site! Italy does the best ice cream ever (next to Malta)
Austria has by far the cleanest bathrooms I’ve ever seen.

It's almost like being on your boat, except more and faster. I don't know why, but I kept expecting one of you to say "Cheeky Tronky" for some reason lol. As I'm watching, I realize that what's beautiful and scenic to us, is just the normal day for those that live in those places. Can't wait to see more!

You guys are living part of my dreams. Another part, but in the same region, is the Red Bull Alpenbrevet. Check out some of the great videos here on YT of it. It's yearly. A total blast!!! (Literally!) always attended by 1000k+ riders. I've owned a 1978 Kromag - Steyr - Puch Swinger 2 moped for about a decade now, and have a bunch of friends in the mid-west moped scene, here. Real mopeds... With pedal cranks, like a bicycle.....Not scooters that folks erroneously call "mopeds"....Scooters, and mopeds are VERY different kinds of cycles. I'm not much a fan of scooters they remind me of somebody sitting on the John, reading a newspaper. 🤣.....But mopeds...YES PLEASE!!! Mopeds are like early motorcycles, and still have many aspects shared with bicycles. My favorite bike of all, and also my daily bike, I use on group rides, or any time I need to ride a longer distance, without stopping every few minutes, -who's named Astrid, will do 47mph. All day long. I put on a Dutch Moped Parts 70cc piston port cylinder, a NOS 15mm Bing carb, with a spanish-made Fuego pipe, and she rips pretty good! (She's what we call mid-tuned. About half way between stock 30mph bike, and 80mph++ highly tuned mopeds. Still much faster than is legal, but I don't use all that extra, unless it's safe to do so.....Astrid has also had many upgrades in suspension, braking, 12v lighting, etc, to make her handle like a small road-worthy motorcycle.) 😄❤

If you have a "must see" list, next time you travel Europe Slovenia is a MUST. You were so close when you traveled through Austria.
Emily you make me laugh every time when you see yummy food. You get in touch with the little girl inside and your eyes get so big and round.
Ben one of the things I so enjoy about the videos, you guys produce, is how calm you stay no matter what happens.

When you come back via Austria, if you have, drop off the autobahn at a little village called Lermoos. Hire a bike and cycle round the small valley. Cowbells, meadows and chalets, like a chocolate box brought to life. You have already seen some beautiful sights 😊
Best travel channel ❤ pine cones are great for predicting the weather,even when they are off their tree and hung up.They are probably open at the moment because of the warm weather .Back in the UK when the weather gets colder they will shut,I think !!!!

Great Video. Loved the siren, there are alot of countries around the world that take Civil Defence a hell of a lot more seriously than we do in this country. Some parts of the US use their sirens to warn of Tornados for instance
At 4:30, in Strasbourg love to see those 2 Segways, stand-up 2 🛞 😊 wheelers. The large rubber wheels make you about 6 and a half feet tall. Great for going around pedestrian malls and city centres. We have them in Eastern Canada, because they were manufactured in Quebec in mid-2000 to 2010. Just wild. Bennie, 10:00, you and Emily are near the Sud Tirol mountains not Bavaria, which is around Munich. I would be freaking out driving on the autobahn, but Emily is not.
Loved this video. We are off on a road trip to Lake Garda in June, close to Sirmione, looking forward to that even more now. We just hope it won't be too hot. We are 75 and 78, so your'e never too old for a road trip.

Loving your travelling adventures . The re routing of planned journeys are part and parcel of travelling. So long as you’ve got somewhere to lay your head after a hard days driving things are usually great in the morning. I think the drone footage is excellent and a brilliant way of showing the vista👍. That strange car at 15:19 is a "Fiat 500 Trike (conversion)". Because the two back wheels are so close together, it qualifies as a three wheel vehicle, which a 16 year old can drive it on a provisional license, in Germany. (spoiled much?)

Good old Fusen I used to stay at steibus and ski with the army when there was no snow we went ti fussen chity chity bang bang castle. we used to spend a day in a bar really.later I used to ski in Ital driving past gada on the way, not the same when you were freezing in the back of a bedford truck, Thanks for bringing back some memories.

FANTASTIC! I really enjoyed your video of your travels through Germany and Italy! Wowza!. You two are so adorable and I am so impressed at how well you two roll with things not always going as planned! Always so respectful to each other, always looking out for each other, and most importantly you two just enjoy each other's company. The lake drive was spectacular, and the campsite was incredible. The color of the water was such a gorgeous blue/green, and so clear you could see to the bottom. You guys looks so happy and you reminded me so much of my travels in Europe when I was around your age. Can't wait to see the rest of your journey in your van adventure. I wonder if once you guys have such a taste of travel and other countries, will you move away from narrowboating? Take up residence in Italy? That road through the Alps is jaw-dropping 😲! I stayed in Garda a few years ago. The ferries are brilliant for getting between the towns.

You are likely already through Strasbourg, but just in case, I really dig Binchstub Restaurant. There are some high end Alsatian restaurants, but those can be pricey. Le Tire-Bouchon is quite good and not so expensive. If you like art, do visit The Isenheim altarpiece (1512-1516) in Colmar, an hour from Strasbourg. Grünewald’s paintings are stunning and unusual in terms of colors. Enjoy your journey.

Here along the Tanana River in Fairbanks Alaska we still call them Seagulls even though we are 300plus miles from the ocean. The river does flow into the ocean close to 1000 miles away. At least another month before they return. Have fun and thanks for taking us along.

Hiya both. Might have a bit of useful info. My experience after 30yrs. living in Spain, if you want overnight parking on your European adventure, try searching out the local Lidl supermarket. They always seem to attract plenty of folk in mobile homes, RV's & converted ambulances. Hope it's the same throughout Europe and the info. is Benny Ficial. Nice chap 'n' dead helpful. Peace.

If it's like Belgium or Holland they trust to punch your own ticket. You buy a card at a newsagents hence no turnstyles, swipecards etc....

That was a beautiful video. Evoked memories of a holiday I took where we were based in Limone on the shores of lake Garda. You can visit all the wee towns around the lake from there by ferries . We also took coach trips to Venice , Verona and Bolzano. It was amazing . Thanks for reminding me . Look forward to seeing more of your Italian trip xx
