Kane debut in 1997 was legendary
The former "Nicky (from the Spirit Squad") returning in late-2008/early-2009 as Dolph Ziggler is one of, if not, THE smartest move of Nick Nemeth's career.
You forgot that Dolph was the caddie for Chavo
@@jayduffy5532 Mope he wasn't the Caddie for Chavo that was Nicky as the Caddy for the Greatest WHITE MAN in History as in Kerwin White as at least get the Character's right. "ALSO IF IT AIN'T WHITE, IT AIN'T RIGHT!"
As I think Kerwin should return as this ERA is the perfect time for him to as he could be The Manager for Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville as the FANS would cause up a Cryfest lolz
Drew McIntyre reinvented himself as a main eventer was great decision
😢😢😢
You can thank Impact and the indies for that.
@@LadyAstarionAncunin thank ICW for that
If the Rock comes back for the next WM, he has to bring back Hollywood Rock. Let’s be real, that was his best entrance theme. A shame the 2K games never bring this version back.
Anybody remember that when he first came to WWE, he was introduced as Rocky Maivia, in honor of his father and in memory of his maternal grandfather?
The gimmicks that never fail is the ones of Chris Jericho lol
Eddie Guerrero
Booker T
Kurt Angle
& Sting
Never disappointed 😂👍
Rey Mysterio.... I mean...
Love how cody went from stardust to the American nightmare same as John cena
Honorable mentions:
1. Derrick Bateman to EC3
2. Tony Atlas to Saba Simba
3. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to just "The Dragon"
4. Jamal to Umaga
5. Fatu to Rikishi
6. Earthquake to Golga
7. Zebakaiah(Dutch Mantell) to Zeb Coulter (Even though he wasnt a wrestler its a gimmick change non the less)
@@ericmonaco4509 Correction: Dutch Mantel was a wrestler back in the day before becoming a manager.
@@jeremywilliams5141 I know that but what meant was he wasnt a wrestler around the time
And 8. Eli Drake to L.A Knight (Even if he was in NXT in 2013 He had a contract and he was in WWE Before eventually going to TNA/IMPACT as Eli Drake)
Cody Rhodes leaving WWE in 2016 was the great turning point of his career
I mean the first glimpse was there with dashing Cody, but he didn’t get a better push or good storylines.
Not really, he's never getting the belt, he might wind up with the US or Intercontinental championship
@@isaacwilliams1827 i’ll see you next year remember this comment he will win the big one
He's still going to end up a mid-card guy. Because that's who Cody Rhodes ever has been or will be. So much nonsense about him being a big star because he left WWE to run around the indies for a for a few years. Of course, Cody Rhodes wrestling at some 500-attendance indie show is going to be a big star ... so is Matt Cardona. That doesn't change the fact they're both mid card guys in a large organization like WWE or even AEW.
@@toddtaylor6506 he was just in the wrestlemania main event and now still higher than the upper midcard😂 im telling you remember this comment when he’s world champion
Albert eventually found his luck in WWE. He is now head trainer at Performance Center, in which he succeeded Bill DeMott, and has helped train numerous past and present WWE superstars.
He was not bad at all. Plus we got to hear the "shave your back" chants during his A Train run and " Albert, Albert" when he did that Lord Tensai stuff
Drew McIntyre from The Choosen one, to 3MB, to Main Eventing Wrestlemania Biggest change in WWE.
WWE dropped the ball with Raven, who was not only a great wrestler but also had mic skills and a good gimmick.
I agree, I loved the Raven character, it’s just to bad Vince hated him, because of Raven hanging with Shane.
Raven is kind of underrated as a wrestler. He had a brutal DDT. He had a unique moveset overall. I always liked the leg sweep onto the barricade.
I loved Raven in WCW
Anyone remember him as Scotty the Body and Scotty Flamingo in Memphis?
Raven is imo the most creative and indepth character in pro wrestling history. Raven's mic work is second to none. His gimmick came off way too naturally. As though his character was basically himself, a bitter, tortured person. A Gen Xer and a product of post modern society. Kind of like the themes presented in Fight Club.
Undertaker American Badass character is still legendary & iconic
He was Mean Mark Callas in WCW.
@Raymond Hopwood ... I remember him from those days in the late 80's.
I liked ravens dark persona better..the smiley raven was weird to me..😅😅
Killing it lamia..👌💞💞
Right I said the same thing Smiling Raven come on now.😀
@@reggiewolfpac ..🤣🤣👊
I remember when Rayback was presented in a squash against two jobbers the crowds was chanting "Goldberg Goldberg Goldberg"
Fans said that at every ryback match lol
I always 😅ed.. that was some funny shxt!!
Tony Atlas returning as Saba Simba, Demolition Smash returned as The Repo Man, Strike Force Rick Martel returned as The Model, Tito Santana as the Matador, The Sultan as Rikishi etc etc
Jamal to Umaga was awesome.
Unfortunately Seth Rollins never left and came back but dude had incredible gimmicks throughout his WWE career
I kinda feel bad for Matt Bloom. He was at his best as A-Train, he was a great mid card monster heel, and he could flutter in and out of main event story lines and not look out of place. Had a good run in Japan as well. The Tensai gimmick was awful, but they really did him dirty toward the end clowning him along with Brodus Clay. Sad end to his in ring career.
I wake up everyday and thank Kane for being Kane.
Agreed 💯
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
As long as you don't live in Tennessee
@@ZandrielGrimm why
@@ZandrielGrimmI love him even more knowing he's a libertarian leaning Republican and a politico.
Bro this CZcamsr really one of a kind, like I’ve never seen anyone do so much research on every single video that they post
@Mr T I said what I said, argue with a wall if you disagree
To be honest a lot of his top 10s are literally same exact concepts just worded differently 😂 he’s done this video I can guarantee you it’s just slightly different but same thing basically
@@steadydropnem we have different opinions
You should see some of Markyd123's videos
1:20 “This gimmick absolutely sucked” 😂😂😂 true
Steve Lombardi becoming The Brooklyn Brawler managed by Bobby The Brain Heenan was a great transformation of character, considering he was a jobber who was elevated to mid-card status.
Well Stone Cold really hit it big as Store Cold. The Ringmaster gimmick wasn't a intimidating wrestler even with Ted DiBiase being his manager. Ultimately I would say Taker and Stone Cold's changes were favorites of all time
Mcyintyre came back as the guy Vince always wanted Roman to become. An Absolute badass who had an organic connection with the fans.
Still think Mcyintyre should be pushed ahead of Roman.
McIntyre Returned as the Guy that Vince McMahon always wanted HIM to become because Drew was the ORIGINAL ‘Chosen One’ before Roman Reigns ….
Never forget the Undertaker debuted in the WWF as Kayne the Undertaker.
Hollywood Rock was always underrared
I'm gonna old school y'all... the happy-go-lucky big man, Tugboat (Fred Ottman) turning heel and becoming Typhoon - joining with his real life friend, the late, great Earthquake (John Tenta) as The Natural Disasters. Greatest big man tag team of all time. We'll... just ignore the WCW glitter trooper character, though... that was... geez... what the hell, man.
Stone Cold (The Ringmaster), The Rock (Rocky Maivia), Triple H (Hunter Hearst Helmsley, the Greenwich Snob) and John Cena (The Prototype) underwent the most radical changes in WWE/F history imo.
I remember Stone Cold when he had the Blond hair back in the days.
I always laughed when Mr. Perfect would take HHH's ringside girls
Stone cold also went by "Steve" i forget the rest of the name
@@GambytDaKlown stunning Steve Austin
Kevin Nash was one who had multiple character's throughout the years in both the WWF and WCW respectively
His style really didn't change much. Other than starting out as Shawn Michaels bodyguard.
He was Oz and Vinnie Vegas before that
So Raven was too goofy character before changing to hardcore & ruthless persona 😂
Would u be willing to make a part 2 because there are plenty more wrestlers u could do?
the best version of Wyatt is the eater of worlds gimmick with the original Wyatt Family. The fiend is great as well but his first persona after Husky Harris will be the best forever in my opinion
I love your videos❤❤❤❤
Undertaker being The American Badass is my favorite persona of his. Especially when you had music like “Sad But True” by Metallica or “Rollin” by Limp Bizkit playing in the entrance. Oh, and don’t get me started on the Kid Rock entrance because it sounded like a mockery of the classic Metallica song, and don’t get me started on sampling music.
Cult leader Bray Wyatt was at peak
Surprised Stone Cold didn’t make this list.
His change from “The Ringmaster” to “Stone Cold Steve Austin”, is probably the greatest character change of all time
It's such a shame about Albert/ tensai. He was a supremely under-rated big man. He could have achieved more if given opportunity instead of gimmicks.
Solofa Fatu from Headshrinker to "Make a Difference" Fatu to Sultan to Rikishi. Then there's One Man Gang becoming Akeem the African Dream.
I remember how we all used to hate the American Badass/Big Evil gimmick from 2000-2003.
Now we're all super-nostalgic for it.
Taker should be universally recognized as the GOAT. Every single era he's been in he was relevant if not the top dog.
The thing about the Tensai change is that it absolutely could have worked.... if they kept the damn mask on him. The instant he took that mask off, that was it. The cat was out of the bag, and there was no chance of it working. A lesson they should have already known, since keeping the mask on is how they got Kane over and past the Isaac Yankem gimmick.
Undertaker is my absolute favorite wrestler and the main reason I started watching WWE (before they got the F out). I absolutely loved his American Badass persona and I think that stretch made for some really great entertainment!
I started watching regularly from RR2000 and hated there was no Taker. So come JD and his entrance during the iron-man match... man that feeling I got!
I once said "Bye Festus' to Luke Gallows in a hotel in Singapore. That was back in 2019. He was with Anderson and AJ Styles.
What about "Thunder Lips" becoming Hulk Hogan 🤣
Still think they should give Drew his old Broken Dreams entrance theme.
You know what i love the determinaation of wrestelamia
Honourable mention
Ringmaster to Stone Cold
Rookie Randy Orton to Apex Predator Randy Orton
Rookie Sasha to the Bo$$ Sasha Banks
Randy Orton the Legend Killer.
When they introduced Tensai, I was like “he looks familiar.”
Me watching classic royal rumbles:
Jim Ross - “It’s Prince Albert”
Jerry - “here comes A- train”
I remember the day Taker returned as the AB 🥲 I was so hyped I saw him get in that ring and to this very day I remember thinking to myself “He got in there like… Ok who’s first?” And began to absolutely demolish every single star in the ring before debuting that damn Last Ride ✊🏾 the move that every star absolutely HATED taking!
Love this video
I'm the only one it seemed who thought Stardust was the best iteration of Cody we had seen up until that moment. All they had to do was let him win. Jobbing him to Titus (why tf is he still employed) O'neil every week just ruined it.
Shelton Benjamin should back to his Gokd standard gimmick & then re-join with Chad Gable to make Chad next Kurt. Well maybe involving Kurt as their manager should be great. Like pass his torch as next gen.
Tensai/Albert was hilarious because Tensai never worked in WWE for on second. As soon as he came out every audience was chanting Albert, saw it on WWE so many times, lol.
Tensai gimmick was too worst for Matt Bloom
Not gonna lie, I liked the festus character as a kid. And I was intrigued when he faced the Undertaker. A monster once the bell rang vs Taker..I thought the match was good for what it was
How about superstars that Left WWE then returned as Bigger Superstars
A few mentions:
EC3
Drew McIntyre
Cody Rhodes
AJ Styles
Matt Hardy
Raven
Karrion Kross
R-Truth
Kurt Angle
Bobby Lashley
MVP
R-Truth was awesome when debuted if WWE had treated him seriously he could've been WWE's Biggest Black Star.
Turned him into a Rapper and Comedian.
Luke gallows is all I've known him by. I remember festus I just never paid that much attention
Weirdly enough Mattel is supposed to be releasing Stardust figures in the newest Elite set which I found very strange seeing as how Cody said he wanted no mention of Stardust
Thank For The Video 🙊🤯🥰💕😍👍
I guess I'm the only one that liked lord tensai gimmick, it looked cool, somehow mysterious with that helmet.
Ok, how many times can you guys keep making this video?
The Rock to Hollywood wasn’t a character change… 😂 he just went heel again. Rocky Maivia to The Rock was the change 😂
Half of these are character evolutions, HHH & Shawn Micheals should be on this list based on the selections
The American badass Is best one of undertaker
Gimmicks are the best thing ever
No, the reason the heel Roman Reins worked is because they realized he didn't have what it took on his own and paired him with one of the greatest talkers in the business. When that started to fizzle out they added the Uso's and Roman took a step back and became the chief. When that started to get old they added Solo. That wasnt enough so they started the sammy zayne angle and hit gold but through all of this Roman Reins has done next to nothing. Which works because it hides his mediocre in ring work and his subpar mic skills. Yeah hes the central figure of the story line but he himself is almost nonexistent in the actual story.
Look back through his career, he has only ever been popular when he's been paired with people better than him.
Back in like ‘99 or 2000 I ran into Price Albert and a lady wrestler at a mall in New Hampshire. I was blown away by the complete randomness of the whole situation. He was giant. I almost walked right into him cause I couldn’t see a guy there I just saw a dark spot and my mind couldn’t work out what was happening. When I finally looked up I saw a giant face and head I was like eyeball to eyeball with his belly.
Honorable mention goes to the Usos
As much as the StarDust character was not good, the theme song was very good!
I definitely didn’t know that ziggler was part of the spirit squad 😮
They should have kept Albert as Albert. Raven was the best. Glad they kept Gallows. Cody’s new personality seems to be the best. Kane lives forever. Drew’s latest run with Sheamus is the best right now. I feel like the Rock honestly never lost his touch all these years. Roman’s heel run had to be one of the best. Bray’s one of the most creative stars out there and am happy the WWE was willing to let him shine. The Undertaker is arguably the most successful stars in all of WWE
Festus was my favorite gimmick from Luke Gallows.
Here are some famous ones:
Ricky Steamboat-The Dragon
Tony Atlas-Saba Simba
Jacques Rogeau-The Mounties
One Man Gang-Akeem
Rick Martel-The Model
Tito Santana-El Matador
Iron Sheik-Col Mustafa
Wild Bill Irwin-The Goon
Too Cold Scorpio-Flash Funk
Dory Funk-Hoss Funk
Jesse Barr-Jimmy Jack Funk
Cant believe Jamal/Umaga and Nicky/Dolph didnt make this list lol
I miss prime R-truth
Everyone SWEARS Stardust hated from the start, everyone loved it at first but didn't think it would last that long
I didn't know that about Raven.
Here's a funny one. Not entirely WWF, but WWF-ECW. Aldo Montoya, The Portuguese Man-O-War. I can't stop laughing when thinking back how "The King" Jerry Lawler, stuck his foot, down Aldo Montoyoa's mouth on "Superstars". And then watching him in ECW as Justin Credible; I could never get the image of Jerry Lawler's foot in Aldo's mouth.
@Wrestlelamia any wrestlers ever convert to a new persona, only to have it backfire to the point they had to switch back?
Karrion Kross had the same mask as Tensai. Vince been trying to get that thing to work for years. Rikishi's former character had a similar mask. Think it was rikisi?
I’ll never understand why Lord Tensai was repacked as Tensai without the armor and made to dance with Brodus Clay.
1:18 most savage thing the narrator ever said lol
I don’t remember anyone liking the American badass stage of the undertaker
At least Tensai shaved
Raven needs to be first on the list 😂 going from Johnny Polo to Raven.
I actually like the Lord tensai gimmick I just wish it was given to someone else
You should do Papa Shango
JBL should have featured on the list.
All of these changes were great.
Tensai 😭
I only know gallow since SES (never know his other gimmick) 😂
Raven was Johnny Flamingo in WCW also
Stunning Steve WCW Steve Austin wwe hunter wwe boss triple h.
It’s kinda funny some of the kindest easiest to get along with guys like Roman and The Miz have an easier time playing heels.
R Truth is a damn national treasure
He can't breathe
I miss the sweet T & Brodus Clay tag Team
unabom is an insane idea
Rikishi and Godfather had a bunch of characters too
I'd say Roman Reigns's Tribal Chief was running it's course when he became Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.
It’s boring now and way over played
@@the1andonlyyoungone561 Yup
The undertaker the greatest Charachrer, gimmick, icon, superstars by so many faces❤
