CR7 is an interesting one. Definitely don’t exactly know what he’s capable of but he’s certainly shown us multiple moments of greatness. I think he’s trying to get used to the reality of not always being the main go-to man anymore. Which is to be expected because he’s nearly 40 years old!

He still has a lot of power in his shots and can shoot from distance.
Really good athletic ability and can still jump high.
At 36 his stamina is still OK, and can play almost full games at high pace and consistently game after game.

For me he's the greatest of all time, not just for how incredible of a player he's been, but also for his character. I have never looked up to a player in my life like I've done for Ronaldo. His dedication to the sport, to his team, to always winning was unmatched. People like to call him "inevitable" and I couldn't agree more. You know, for me this video did age well.
Looks like it was recorded before Solskjaer sacking. And we all know that Ralf is nobody and something went horribly wrong there. Also CR7 scored a lot of goals including clutch ones.
And later he had a struck of personal tragedy and lack of support from the club as well as lack of play time. All of this is sure to end in disaster as it did in WC 2022.
As for the interview - that might very well be a mistake. He could have just waited and get a transfer later, yet maybe Saudi Arabia offer was to expire in winter so he had to act quickly in hope of getting to other European clubs.
Anyway, his move to Saudi Arabia is a good one, because
a) he does not have to prove anything to anyone except himself
b) he will have the respect, the play time and attention he needs and wantz from the club. Hopefully, it will allow him to return to good form
c) Good form will be good for the national team performance as well for the other clubs that might wanna resign him
d) Good form in the national team might allow him to compete for the WC 2026 as well as Euros 2024.
e) National trophies is the last motivation for him. Saudi Arabia might let him be in shape for the national performances

The reason why every Messi or Renaldo video devolves into a VS video in the comments section is because these are two of the greatest players to have ever played the game, generational talents.

Well it’s rubbish to think he’s finished but he’s clearly nowhere near where he used to be.. his decline is evident ever since he got into his 30’s even late 20’s I noticed his lateral movement in his hips suffering.. not really related to tendinitis either.. for me Messi is and always was levels above him but I will never say he is finished and will admit when I saw him play in 2013 and 2014 he was probably at his peak and deservedly the best on form player in the world..
