    The nanoVNA can not output above 300MHz, it uses harmonic modes above 300MHz. If you set 800MHz you get 266MHz

    • @dri50
      @dri50 Před 4 lety +7

      and if you set 440 MHz you get 146MHz

      This result has the consequence of sending any electronic design to the ChiNAZI regime, you expose yourself to the theft of intellectual material versus its low manufacturing costs.
      it is better to send your designs to factories in Taiwan than if you respect intellectual property and have an excellent level of electronic manufacturing.

    You did everything I did with mine, including forgetting that the LOW input couldn't see 440 MHz. :)

    Just love your videos Sir! I am not technically mimded on this subject amd don't follow everyting but your style, voice and presentation makes it so interesting, keep them comming please. Subscribed.

    You've demonstrated that you can use the VNA as a signal generator! That's great! I mean, it has to do that to measure SWR but makes me wonder if you could do receiver alignment, etc.

    • @IMSAIGuy
      @IMSAIGuy  Před rokem +1

      yes, the tinysa has a generator mode.

    The 146.527 spur amplitude just about disappears after you reconnected the cable. As you were tightening it, the amplitude of the spur went back and forth between ≈-35 and ≈-50 dB, ending up settling at ≈-50 dB, starting about the 4:17 mark. Dodgy cable, connection?

      Seems like it, SMA connectors aren't the best they're pretty fragile, and don't always make the best connection, and the cables that usually get used with those connectors usually isn't of the best quality either. I really wish they would have used BNC or something a bit more robust that could accept a better coax.

    Can any of these sweep above 600MHz ? I need one to see if any LTE signals are interfering with OTA channels in the 5-608Mhz range.

      The TinySA would probably be useful. It is best up to 350MHz but has a second mode to 960MHz

  • @ErikKaashoek
    @ErikKaashoek Před 4 lety +3

    Your SMA cable may have an issue in the second half of the video

    • @etow8034

      Please include a SMA to male F connector cable or adapter in future releases so we don't have to order an extra cable to test TV antennas.

    Low is 0-300M and High is 240-960M You need to change the input to high of the tinysa

    What is an approximate RF input signal that Tiny SA can handle without damaging it?

    • @IMSAIGuy

      I limit it to 0dBm (1 milliwatt)

    You need to change the input on the sa to read above 350 mhz

      be aware that the tinysa high side does not have the same performance as the low side. much of the circuitry is bypass and the noise and spurs are quite large.
