    Thanks for the video! I love watching Lindsay's videos! I always watch her reviews before making any art material purchases if I can. I haven't bought these yet, and I had hoped she would have done more on the Mungyo water pastels. I opted for the soft chalk pastels first, but I am ready for these sets now. It's great to watch a fellow follower of the Frugal Crafter. I believe that's a good enough endorsement for me. I'm subscribing NOW!

      One thing that people don’t realize is that regular chalk pastels can be used with water; the problem is that the paper you use with pastels warps a lot. The other alternative is to use alcohol, which works really well and dries quickly so the paper doesn’t warp or buckle. The problem with this is that you need to use this in an area with good ventilation.

    I have the set of regular colors. I got them to try out because I couldn't afford the Neos II. Now, I'm going to have to get the pearls. Thank you for the review. ❤

    I have both sets and I love the Pearl set. They are so creamy and desolve so wel and look beautiful. The regular ones were not soft at all. I'm thinking I got an old set that had dried up or something. They didn't desolve well. One of the yellow colors was the only one that was soft and looked nice. I probably won't use the regular set at all, but definitely love the Pearls.

    🎉 I just ordered both sets..
    New to traditional oil pastels, I love watercolor most 👍 and these are reviewed so well and super affordable. YES Mungyo makes Prima 😂 and sells for much less 😊 thanks for the review 🎉🎉🎉🎉

    I also have both sets, and the pearlescents arrived just like yours: box full of crumbs, and some broken tips. The box of regular colours arrived undamaged. They seem less fragile.

    I watched your review last night, and then placed the pearl ones in my Amazon cart! Oops. 😆 Such a great price, and now I know how nice they are. I have the Neocolor II ones, the 15 color set. I thought it would be great to have pearlescent colors, too. I mainly do watercolors and I think these would look really cool as accents, mixed with regular watercolors, or in backgrounds. Glad I found your channel!

    Hi Kori! I saw Lindsey's video on these too and I am VERY intrigued. One question for you as you play with them - I'm curious how they hold up on two sided coloring books after the fact (ie - if you spray them down with fixative when you are done, do they stay put or do they smudge onto the other side of the page?) I'm a bit worried that they may smear around even after fixative is applied. Would love to hear your experience on that.

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  Před 2 lety

      I'll definitely have to let you know on that, just because I haven't added a fixative. I did, however, activate with water on one page, and noticed the pearlescent ones still have glitter coming off, but not the color.

    Hi, I just now watched this but couldn't find a review where you had used them in a page. How do these compare with Neocolors 2, I know oil vs wax, but I have the Neocolors and was wondering the difference in how they perform? Trying to convince myself I don't need these, but the pearls are calling me ;-).

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  Před 2 lety

      I haven't done a comparison yet. It is on my list though. Right now I have one between the Lyra and Neocolor 2, but yeah, it is on my list. Just soooo hard to find the time lol

    Question…..can you smudge them after they have dried?

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  Před 2 lety

      So if you just apply these and don't activate with water or blend with a stump/brush they don't actually dry and do smudge. You can spray a fixative. If you activate them they don't move

    I know I'm a couple months late, but I've been struggling to find the perfect medium for coloring book backgrounds without having to prime and prep the page etc... I was wondering if you've had luck with these in coloring books, especially double sided pages? Do they bleed through to the other side?

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  Před 2 lety +2

      No no, these don't bleed through. They are just like Gelatos, Distress Crayons and Neocolor2 for me. None of them bleed.
