I love how Pokémon made a character depressed and that hates his job and instantly millions of people connected with him. I love Larry you can’t hate him it’s impossible.
He and Ryme are the only memorable trainers outside the side Quest quartet.

Even when you don't give a cat's butt about the game, it's worth watching just for the roll call at the end.

@@tlst94 @smfzsnes1121 The "closure" argument makes sense for Gold&Silver or Diamond and Pearl but not HeartGold and SoulSilver, also we're talking about them "running out of ideas". How does remaking a game not count as running out of ideas?
If your argument for the japanese regions being unique and otherworldy is because you're not japanese or that it's not as "well known" as the western ones you mentioned then you're missing a very important thing. The games were first targeting the japanese market, they didn't make the region japanese based because it would feel otherworldy, quite the opposite. I mean the first game takes place in the Kanto region, guess what that's based on? The real world japanese Kanto region. In fact one of the skepticisms they had about releasing the games in the west was that it was "too japanese". Them shifting to regions you're familiar with is not them running out of ideas.
The new designs in the role call were so bad it damaged my nostalgia. Now I even realize that Gen 6 was hideous

Larry was the most relatable character to us 30 year olds that grew up with the game and still play. He was an awesome gym leader and it was bonkers when he turned out to be an Elite ,4 as well.
His comments about Larry were spot on. He is the most relatable character in the game. 🍙
And the only one who gave me any challenge.

I feel like I'm the only one who didn't experience all these weird glitches. I kept wondering what everyone was complaining about until I saw a couple of playthroughs online. I honestly don't know if I should be relieved or jealous.

So far the oneley glitches or whatever I have run into are once I couldn't pick up items and two when I seamed to be trapped by invissable walls. These wer bothe in poste game and I just had to reset the game. I sometimes feal people spend too much time findeing and pointing out the faults of somefhjng and not enjoy it for what it is.
@@TheOmegazerox or maybe they were playing a different build of the games (the ones that CZcamsrs get to review the game) and all those more game-breaking glitches got fixed after they reported them
@@TheOmegazerox Had the game from day 2, where they already had a patch out for the falling through the world glitches, but it was still really bad back then. The game not saving all the time, the camera not working aka seeing everything but your Pokemon fight, looking through the floor constantly. Then after the next few updates it got playable, but it still doesn't safe all the time and the Terra raids are extremly bugged to the point the enemy Pokemon right up vanishes or the health and time bars aren't shown anymore.
So at the beginning it was unplayable for some and then with the updates it got way better, but not nearly everything is fixed.
@@TheOmegazerox you probably didn't experience much because most youtubers played the game in version 1.0 and the game updated to 1.1 about mid december

this is one of the funniest Pokémon honest trailers yet, had me rolling with the difficulty being "easier than your mom" lol. did not expect that

I rocked a Flamigo in my party for the entire game… he was one of the best! Very underrated!
Same, at least for Violet. Its low kick took care of 3 of the 5 titans, including taking on iron treads while 12 levels lower!
Had a Normal Terra, Scrappy Flamigo who wrecked shop. I named him HOAviolation.

I've pretty much watched ALL of the honest game trailers for pokemon and I believe there's an entire compliation video dedicated to taking all of the starring pokemon from 0001 - 1008.

Setting aside the terrible performance, Scarlet and Violet has some of the best writing for a pokémon game I know of. I love how all the gym leaders have other jobs. I love how many different character tropes are inverted here, from the team of bullies actually being a group of neurodivergent social outcasts to the standoffish rival actually being a wholesome soft boy to the teachers actually caring and taking an active role in trying to help students. Personally, my biggest complaint is about all of the very cool features from pokémon Legends that did not carry over.
i hated the writing, i dont like when everything and everyone revolves around you. the chair"woman" has no other purpose than to follow your steps and wait for you to beat her, same as the rival, they dont do anything but follow your steps.
area zero and open world is what kinda saved it

The main character of the team star arc is director clavell, and to an extent some of the other teachers, who are attempting to rebuild the school from scratch after being left with a mess, a scandal, and a lack of information by the previous administration. The main character of the Titans storyline is undoubtedly Arvin, whom you are assisting in saving the life of his friend and, in a sense, helping him deal with his relationship with his parent. You are the main character of your attempt to be ranked as a champion, but uniquely for this franchise, every gym leader has a job other than waiting for you to come and beat them up. You are much less of a main character for no reason in this game than you are in sword and shield, or even Legends Arceus, for that matter, as best as I can recall.

@@aracuscesar Well, the whole point of a rival is that they're following in your steps and trying to best you. As for the champion, that's simply an incorrect interpretation. She may take an interest in you due to your meteoric rise, but she hardly follows you around. Her role is, as with all champions, to battle anyone who happens to reach her. You aren't particularly special in that regard and any interpretation where she exists only to congratulate you is pure narcissism.
Lowkey Larry is definitely the highlight of this new generation! He's universally the people's champ and won us all over by the elite 4!

Edit: this was a casual run, I don't play Pokemon competively. His design and name may be lazy but he's a fighting type with an ability to have those moves hit ghost types, that is just really neat

I picked Scarlet for Prof. Sada, and the fact that Scarlet has my favorite Pokémon, Hyderigon, as a version exclusive.
On a positive note, I hope that the upcoming updates fix more of the blaring issues this game currently has! And even if it don't fix everything, I at least hope it fixes the random game crashes! As someone *(at the time of this comment with over 700 hours of playtime since launch)* who has experienced 5 so far!
Well.. you're doing great. I have far less time than you, I'm going to say about ... 50/70h, and I've experienced at least twice as many crashes.
@@Valathia Seriously?! That's crazy! Have you tried transferring your save data to system memory than on SD card? I was told that doing so reduces the performance issues in the game. I tried it and that alone made the game a little more playable, at least from my experience.
@@SegaDisneyUniverse I did it as soon as I got the game because a friend recommended it. I've never played it any other way ^^' Can't imagine the kind of problems I would have otherwise lol

I have a Flamigo. Despite its lack of design, it's got a great move pool, and pretty decent stats. It came in clutch on the first 3 Team Star raids.
(Edit) It *stayed* on my team and came in clutch throughout the Team Star storyline!

I think you have just pointed out exactly why I love scarlet and violet. I love the glitches and yes it does remind me of gen 1 glitches alot.
I love how we all look at some of these pokemon and have the same ideas. Like, "That IS Lady Gaga", "Mecha Godzilla is here!" (called him Dragonzord actually but I saw it too) and "Dog-Father". Plus Larry's the best and Nintendo knew it.

Out of all the hours I've spent in both games, I got one glitch in scarlet. I had to retake some classes bc of it. The fps issue is really my only complaint, but I've had so much fun with these games.
