The Expanse - "What the hell kind of ship is this?" Avasarala, Bobbie, Holden & Sinopoli

- Avasarala delivers some classic cynical sarcastic dialogue in a bid to convince the Martian Ensign Sinopoli to pass on Errinwright's speech to his commander.
A shout out to chubby cheeks Atticus Mitchell, playing Ensign Sinopoli.

"What the hell kind of ship is this?"
A legitimate salvage, young Martian.
...WHY did I read that in Alex's voice?
"What the hell kind of ship is this?"
The Fun Kind
I feel like these words get said sooner or later in every tabletop space RPG.
A Martian Marine and pilot, a Belter engineer, a retired Earther navy-officer, a Baltimore-born hunk of muscle, and the UN deputy undersecretary walk into bar . . . I forgot the rest of the joke . . .
Baltimore born my dude.
"The martians go, we'll have a Dusty Red Belt. The Eather's goes, we'll have a Deimos Martini, thinking themselves funny. The belter sits and thinks, I'll have a Cratered Earth please bartender. "
Not retired - a *dishonorably discharged* Earth Navy officer.
This is not a joke, It's a normal day on the Rocinante.
@@sircrapalot9954 I would call punching your CO because he ordered you to fire on innocent people, a pretty badass honourable way to be dishonourably discharged XD
"She was kind of mean. I think I liked her"
The amount of sass and smug in this scene could create a black hole
Was thinking voice -> gravel pit, but yours works for me, too 😆
Lol
His character in killjoys is very similar haha
That’s just Avaserala for you.
Yes
"What the hell kind of ship is this?"
"The fun kind"
I guess we all love Avasarala, but I really liked the guy portraying Sinopoli in this scene, especially the look he gave Avasarala after she said "away from politicians" :D
Avasarala is annoying as shit lmao
I understand the devotion of her spymaster. She is my favorite character.
Avasarala is Space Hillary Clinton.
@@duncregabsolutely fucking not. Hillary Clinton would never get her hands dirty for justice like avasarala. Clinton would be one of the politicians avasarala would be fighting against
@@duncreg Thats a disgusting insult to the actress
God they couldn't cast anyone better than mrs Aghdashloo
Even when she swears it sound classy, no wonder Amos has the hots for her
No, they couldn’t because she’s the best person for this role.
@@velocitymgEven when? That's exactly when it sounds classy )
@@velocitymg In one episode, Amos asked "What was she wearing" to Holden. I was so confused lol
@@kassaken6521 Amos respects strength and character and avarasala had balls of steel and did what was needed not what was wanted or popular. That made Amos all sweaty for her, he was a complicated character :)
"What the hell kind of ship is this?" Welp, in the 1700s it would have been referred to as a Privateer.
legitimate salvage
In the 1700's it would have been referred to as "magic", "divine", or "demonic"... 🤪
“I stand atop a ship named Persistence, beneath sails made of resolve.”
@@skykeeper2216 ah , the Guinevere
"Who else was there, the fucking tooth fairy?"
"... or Holden here can space the three of you for being such intolarable idiots." So classic :D
*Holden
(Javik approves)
One of my favorite non-action scenes. The young actor playing Sinopoli does a great job playing off of Avasarala's sarcasm and make a strong impression in a minor role.
It’s Pip!
As do SO MANY 'minor' characters in this series. It's truly impressive how much they can make you feel for a character you just met 10 minutes ago.
“Yes, I’m aware of the irony.”
I love Bobby's "get on with it, then" gesture.
i wish i could just do that gesture that well in everyday life
Sinopoli’s reaction to Bobby in the takeover scene was great. “That is a spec ops uniform, *she can force feed you that gun if she wants to!* [tries to keep it together]”
In the books Bobbie is 2 metres tall and big enough to intimidate Amos and that's on top of all the combat raining she had. She's not someone you want to piss off.
@@combomaster666 I was about to say Frankie Adams is close to 2 meters tall, then I remember that 2 meters tall is a little more than the US measurement. I just didn't realize how much. Adams is a pretty big girl but 2 meters is like pro basketball tall.
@@Elthenar To make it funnier she is also good looking despite her size, when Holden meets her for the first time he can't decide if he should run away of chat her up.
@@Elthenar 2 meters is just about six and a half feet tall.
@@JnEricsonx Yeah, I had no idea until I looked it up. I thought 2 meters was closeto 2 yards. 2 yards tall is exactly 6 feet.
I love this scene. Its not in the books, because the events in the plot are very different, and far less confrontational. But sarcastic Avasarala is great.
This popped up in my feed and I was gonna post and say how much I loved this scene. But then realized I already did so a year ago. My feelings have not changed. :)
@@wjrneo2It kind of was in the books though. Different, but similar
I love that smirk at the end. She's one of my favorite characters ever.
I had a great dislike for Avasarala initially... then she became one of the best characters in the show, and there are many great characters in this show, to include some of the villains as well.
we all love and hate her. She played her character well
I too was not a fan of her in the beginning, did not expect the level of character growth and development that occurred. She grew on me as she evolved. Great writing and acting.
I like how Bobbie and Holden are basically the only two persons who can stand Avasarala and kind of force her to go on with whatever she has to.
Avasarala in that flight suit! I mean, I know she's a senior citizen but damn!!
Some people still got it, even in their old age.
Barbara Eden was still a babe in her 70's.
I'd Kirk that.
Zero G does wonders for support...
The term you're looking for is GILF.
If you were Sinopoli in this situation, how could you refuse such a charming interaction?
Even the payoff later was satisfying when he said about Avasarala “Kinda mean…at first…..but I liked her”
It would have been nice if he had appeared again in season 6. And they meet again.
I love the "c'mon, stop bitching and explain" sign Bobby make!
This is why this show is so good even the people with just a scene or two can shine and the best actors are attracted to those roles and conditions.
Avasarala would make a good Bene Gesserit Reverend Mother.
Absolutely. Damn, you're right!
Oh, sure, just INCREASE her power, why don't you.
Not with that mouth she wouldn't.
I guess this is as if you are a soldier fighting for the US in irak, then suddendly you are stranded in the dessert with your team, dying.
Then a couple of marines rescue you and you are super happy.
Then it turns out they are a mix of russians, arabs and americans using US clothes and tanks.
Then after you fail to overthrow them, they send you to a room to talk to Vladimir Putin and it turns out he is good and has evidence that could end the war in Irak.
All you have to do is go back to base and tell your commander to have a talk with some Al Qaeda leader showing corruption in their government
Yeah, i would be confused too
Can we humans ever reach ur level of IQ .
As Avasarala would say to all of us: Right, the tedious version then.
🤣🤣🤣
"Irak"
you just said souther is like al qaeda leader🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Her ”yes” resonates with my soul as the most yes yes that was ever yes’d in the history of yes
One of the best sci-fi shows. Ever.
My god, we never deserved a sci-fi series this good. I feel bad for people who haven't discovered it. Hardcore, science based fiction, a gripping multi-season story line, astonishing production values, but above all: characters you absolutely grow to love: Naomi Nagata, Avasarala, Amos (!!), Bobbie Draper, Det. Miller, Camina Drummer. So well written, so brilliantly acted.
I loved....and sadly miss this show. Especially the humorous way Avarsarala made banter.
My most favorite side character scene ever... lol
My favorite is Maneo Jung Espi...
The legitimate salvage kind.
All that time with the Killjoys, yet Pippin is still surprised by this turn of events.
I was looking for this reply.. and Zephyr as well from Killjoys, I wonder why they got those two in..?
@@deanooooooo6496 the casting director might be a fan

@@deanooooooo6496There’s only so many Canadian actors.
I'm very very very picky on tv shows which means I don't like many.
I stumbled across this a couple years ago, last year I finally got a couple of the books. All I can say is just, holy shit.
The books, the cast, the crew, the production quality just all of it is so well made.
Yes
I freaking miss this show.
0:37 "One of a kind, kid."
I miss this show so much.
was a good series. showed real space time, real space actions, unlike so many other's.
Their arc is super funny. Especially the scene where they got rescued and the following scene where they find out what their situation has become. Haha.
From bad to worse sort of thing.
they drop of a cliff, hit rock bottom... only to find another cliff to drop of
that's what I like about the series, from bad to worse to even more worse
Out of the frying pan and into the fire
This show is truly amazing in plot , acting and the visual effect and the grounded physics and science they use in the Everything from the casual scene to the epic space battles.
Such great writing and excellent characterizations... right down to a scared ensign and an impossible situation... or be spaced.
This was a show addition that went above and beyond!
"This is the warship Rocinante, noob!"
Great, now I'm going to have to watch the series again (and again)! :)
Bobby is hot.
I get the sense that this lady is the Delenn of the series.
That's a pretty good analogue. Aravasala is an incredibly smart character - but a long way from flawless - and she almost casually steals every scene she's in.
Two forces of nature. Do not stand in their way.
@@TheOneWhoMightBeIf you value your life be somewhere else 😂
When Avarsarala walks in the room, you should stand up.
"Honestly? I can go either way" lmao.
a fantastic three seasons
One of my favorite scenes in the entire series.
Avasarala, the older woman, has quite the smokers growl doesn't she?
That's not from smoking, she's had that dusky voice forever.
She still is kinda hot though.
@@mayoluck Kinda??? Damn shes got that Raquel Welch Fantastic Voyage thing goin on in that flight suit.

One of the most unforgettable scenes of this CULT SERIES.
There is only one scene that tops this his report to the Captain and Leoben ähhm XO of the Martian Ship :)
Probably, one of my favourite scene from the entire series :D
Good to see that Jerall Bracken recovered from the wounds he took at Storms End.
It is amazing how there is no Expanse in my feed for months and months, and then a few weeks before the new season drops my feed is all Expanse. I wonder if CZcams is messing with the algorithm again?
The best kind!
God, I miss this show...
best scene of the expanse
This is going to be very tedious if you remain this dim 😂
She is the best. My favourite character. 😂
"Its the only way I can do my true duty, to Mahs." - Love it Bobbie!
Avasarala was my favorite character
Ain't this the kid from My Babysitter's a Vampire
Yes. Benny Weir.
I liked before this scene when Sinopoli told his ship mate that Bobbie was wearing scout armor and that she could feed you that gun before you blink was one of the greatest scenes in the show.
what the hell kinda ship is this
going from the book to the show is always so baffling. they're making entire new arcs and i'm not sure how i feel about it.
I need to get around to reading the book. They butchered the show after Season 3 for me.
Especially having Nagatas son survive at end of Season 6 Episode 6.
@@michaelbeleut6480 Same, starting from Season 4 it's all nonsense.
@@balung he’s alive in the books what are you talking about
Just wait until they try to continue the series via movies to finish the story without Alex, who actually survives until the end of the books, except the last couple pages when a couple centuries have past. As to Negates son surviving, he survives in the books too. I always thought that was a messy loose end that should have been tied up at the end of the story, but wasn't. Wasted opportunity there.
Avasarala - The Master of Irony ;)
I want Seasons 4 & 5 on 4K DVD or by Jove I’ll space all three of you .. 🤣😂🤣
Great sifi.
Bring it back now.
this scene is hilarious
a floating prison for the innocent victims of rape, fraud and robbery
Sometimes i wonder if the Roci is a warship or a travelling freakshow.
Anyone gets the reference ?
Wrexellent
The best ship, that’s what.
Who else was on there, the tooth fairy?
While other streamings allow scenes from their series and movies on CZcams, which helps to promote them and keep them alive in the public's memory, Prime video, in a stingy way, has blocked or removed all battle scenes from The Expanse on the platform! They are the ones who are missing out. Millions got to know the series (and the streming service) through CZcams recommendation.
This episodes guest performers were from Killjoys,.. There's several times during the series that a few guests pop in from other notable SciFi themed programs.
Ensign Sinopoli was one of the Young Drunk Punks, no?
Not that I know of, but he played Benny Weir on My Babysitter's a Vampire.
Time is quick and I’ll best short)
Yu Belta 😂
I love this szene.
But why has the sound to be so bad?
It's an attempt to evade the bots that issue copyright strikes.
Bobbi in that outfit... good lord
Volume is way too low
let me be your fantasy
full volume and still cant hear it
I hate to run the errands
I loved that scene. I wonder what happened to that young Martian. I don't remember. Did we ever see him again ? I hope he made it all the way through the show.
He does appear at least one more time. The crew of the Roci fix up what's left of the martian ship and the three surviving martians fly it back to the rest of the martian fleet where you see the guy hand over the files to his superiors.
I presume he was either spaced or died in combat. He went back to his ship and was reassigned to a lowly role, and you later see the ship in service with Inaros's navy, so its safe to assume they boarded it and killed or spaced everyone on board.
''This war is a lie''...Like all fucking war!
The first casualty of war is the truth. Same with the war on crime and the war on drugs.
Come on Season six!
Come on indeed! March 2022 best guess for release.
