What's with the annoying sound in the background? Is that supposed to be music? Are all clips of the show this bad, ruining great character moments? Eta: And when is amazon prime yt channel going to stop being bigoted against the hearing impaired? AP provides subtitles for its shows in app, so why not for clips and trailers on yt?
Don't assume you can watch Prime Video on the equipment you watch Netflix on. Only if your AV equipment is less than 5yrs old. The Blu-ray player I use to get Wi-Fi to my living room TV, and watch Netflix on, is a Samsung 3D Blu-ray player, has only played a disk 3 times maybe, WON'T EVEN OFFER THE PRIME VIDEO APP for the Smart Hub. It is not even available in the Samsung Apps. Too bad Amazon got their greedy mitts on "The Expanse", I was looking forward to watching the rest of the series. I will not be watching it on a phone or laptop screen, that is stupid unless you're travelling, and I don't plan on buying new equipment, just to get their stupid App. I already have an Amazon Prime membership, I am rethinking that too.
Buck Fisher That must be annoying for you, but Amazon saved The Expanse. The Sy-Fy channel cancelled it. It wouldn’t even exist anymore if Amazon hadn’t listened to the fans and bought it, so I think it’s a little unfair to be annoyed about them “getting their greedy mitts on it”.
I can cast the Amazon Prime app (using my iPad) directly onto both my old TV and my parents’ new TV. Not sure how all of this stuff works but it’s been okay for me at least.
She's a wonderful character, played by a wonderful actress.
Shohreh Aghdashloo is a treasure. We should all appreciate her and her works more.

She has the best role on this show, from an actor's perspective : the best costumes by far and she gets half the swear words of the entire show. And she's not even a villain. Best. Gig. Ever.

@@poitboing Yes, she most absolutely does! I really love that though the series is set in a far away future with additional planetary colonies that she chooses to still wonderfully represents her Iranian heritage through her style of attire.
I took that as a nod to the fans. The show runners know everybody is bananas for Chrisjen's outfits! :-)

She is a genuinely powerful female. Not at anyone's expense, not to prove an agenda or point, but because it's just who she truly is - a powerful woman.

@@nsambataufeeq1748 i'd go as far as to say, they're better written than the main ones. drummer, naomi, bobby and chrisjen are all given agency. Thus, their decisions, pitfalls and recoveries carry the right meaning
@@ritwikjs The best characters imo are Avasarala, Amos, Alex, (former) Sgt Draper, Detective Miller, etc. All the side characters are so well written. Holden and Naomi have to be constantly written doing something stupid to justify the plot direction at the time.
@@Rowrin Holden and Naomi are excellent characters. The writers were involved in a row on Twitter with a guy who had a problem with Naomi and Holden and it had absolutely nothing to do with their characters.
She truly was well written and the actress played her perfectly.

@@cosapocha binge watching the expanse is not that recommended to your mental health. Since for the rest of your life you'll either think that you are chrisjen avasarala or Holden. Plus you tend to think that your car is the rocinante. And you always dream of owning the protogen.

Avasarala’s character in the books has raised my insight into politics by one hundred percent. I highly recommend the audible version of the books.

I didn't think another female character would come along that could compete at swearing with Dexter's Debra Morgan, but I was wrong. I look forward to watching what she is going to say every time she comes on screen.
The language is much worse in the books. She's also more pragmatic, and bitingly cruel at times.
I don't think TV is ready for the real Avasarala.

Best show ever
Her outfits are STUNNING, her lines, and retorts BRILLIANT.. She adds a layer of depth, by being the older matriach.. Actually every central character brings a lot. This series is to me the BEST SCI FI SHOW EVER.. A lot has gone into this.. Love the CGI, love the science behind the show. Their ships are more primitive/functional, than the exotic ships on other series.
The way Amos talks to her, in the series and books is always great.

She's a great character normally I can't stand characters like her who are all 'the ends justify the means' but because she's so charismaticly written and her actress is so charismatic in the way she plays her it helps you see that deep down she does actually have good intentions.

@@landrybeck She features in the first seven books so I think you are safe for a while. So far they have been sticking to the general plot lines of the books (which you should definitely read as they are excellent).
