📱 What screen recorder am I using?
I use Camtasia to make all my videos. From my experience it's the best screen recorder available, and I like the built in video editor and cursor effects. Check it out here: techsmith.z6rjha.net/ba9x0M

Bend the antennae! Touché!
Haha. So good!
Iron Rick n Logos Nick, these two legends should live another 1000 years to empower students like us.
Your tutorials are incredibly good. Great source to learn. Thanks❤🌹🙏
Haha! Thank you very, very much. I credit Logos by Nick getting me in to Inkscape in the first place. I'm learning from him still!
You're the Inkscape master, indeed!
Thank you
I’m still learning myself, but thank you!!
This is fantastic! We have a 4.5 year old grand daughter. I can take pictures of animals around the farm and make a personalized coloring book for her.
Thanks, and that is wonderful!
You're not having issue with that? or do you sometimes have major issues and spend a lot time fixing whatever the current issue is?
Its for your Grand Daughter so like me, you're probably ok with whatever it takes. I'm personality learning to be prompt Engineer for Ai Image gen but its super nice to use PhotoPea and Inkscape
to fix issues but at times it can be more work
then expected.
@@zombiemillionaire6397 Lately I've been using MidJourney to generate coloring book style images. I haven't had time to try it in Inkscape. The great thing about the AI generated is it takes me a few seconds to type out the text, then I can go do something else while it is being generated.
Cool idea. I'm going to try it.
@@zfotoguy71 Agreed. Ima Prompt Engineer and Midjourney is one of the Ai software I use. I have a paid account and don't have to wait but a few seconds and Even knowing how to communicate with the software It can be a struggle to get the image I want but then again its worth it when I look at what I pay to have illustrations created.
You are an inkscape guru, master, sensei!!! EVERYTHING!
Haha. Thanks. Always learning and I'm grateful to the Inkscape videos from Logos by Nick who got me started.
Thanks Rick. Love your work.
Thank you!!
Big fan of your videos and learning a lot from you.
wow, I am very impressed, thank you
You are a awesome teacher
You are just the BEST!!! I always enjoy your videos. Your love for what you do comes through, and even as a novice, I feel comfortable following your videos. Bravo! to you for helping all of us with projects.
Thank you so much! This is why I love making these!
What a great tutorial I Like it.
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much....I watch at least two of your videos Every Day as I follow along. I hit rewind at least 100 times!! I'm learning a lot tho! Thanks again!!
Thanks for the suggestion! It was a fun one to do, and my son wants to make his own coloring book now. Love to see him do art.
Great, I always enjoy your videos, I learned a lot.
Thanks so much!
You are a phenomenal source of info, I wish less holes in my brain, (age thing) but you are always there to remind me on bits I forgot
Haha! Thanks!!
This is THE tutorial that I needed 🤩🤩✨🤩✨🤩 Thankyou
Thank you!! Thanks so much!
Once again great job man!
Thank you!!
Yay!!! It only took me about 10 times to create the 5. Thanks! :)
Haha, nice!
Great video!!
Thanks so much!!
Excellent tutorial again thanks Rick. I guess one could also use a clip group to place a pattern within butterfly shapes.
Thanks so much, and that's a great idea! Clip group would be a nice method for this. Maybe faster too.
You got my subscribe
Thank you!!
Thank you for your next great inspiration. No matter how many AI tools we have. It's good to know how to do something with a little bit of help from technology ;)
Thanks, and I totally agree. Also we can hear any song in the world on demand instantly, but musicians still enjoy playing their instruments. I’d like to think it’s similar to AI in the art world.
When are you gonna teach us how to "snap" and have everything done already?
JusKiddn, great tutorial.
Haha- it's a great time saver! Thanks!
💖💖💖
Thanks!!
Do you have a video demonstrating a digital woodcut technique? Thanks in advance. Stay inspired!
👍👍
Thanks!!
Do you use Krita? I would like to see what you could show us on there. Thank you for making these videos you have helped me become more comfortable using Inkscape. Thank you for all your hard work.
Great Videos, thanks a lot! I have a query, I am trying to use repeat and duplicate transformation short cut CTRL+ALT+D/T but it isnt working on my Inkscape 1.3.2 which I am using on Windows 10 Dell 16GB Memory machine. Can u point out Where am i going wrong ???
Can you make a tutorial on this: After completing this butterfly line art, I wish to duplicate a few and each fill with multicolor. I don't know how to fill each empty white space in the butterly.
I am a beginner and really love your videos I tried the tie dye the other night and you would have cried laughing 🤣 I have a really stupid question ...please...How do i keep all the colours when i make and SVG of my art which is a jpeg photo?I know there are multiple scans on Trace btmap bur want to keep all the watercolours shades
It'sa likea magic.
Thanks so much!
Thank you for these great tutorials! I have a question: I created a large, detailed line drawing using black ink and marker. The lines are of varying widths--some fine, some bold. I have scanned the image and made it into a vector image, but now I want to clean up the rough spots. In some places, I want to add more/thicker lines; in other areas, I want to delete or thin things out a bit. Could you point me to the appropriate tutorial(s)? Thank you!
Thanks so much! There is a designer I really like who has a nice tutorial that incorporates Power Stroke which could be a good approach to clean up the varying widths. @2dgameartguru. Here is a link if you want to check out the video: czcams.com/video/Y40HbNPD9cM/video.htmlsi=dchdDMbRmrM7BUDL
WOW! Amazing tutorial. Can you please show us how to recolor traced comic book? The traced image is black and white. I need to colour it with different colors. By the way, thanks for the 'simplify' option. I used ' break apart' and everything is messed!
Thank you very much! Great question and I'll try to figure out a consistent way to do the coloring in like you're describing. The Paint Bucket tool does it, but its so finicky. It almost works great, but needs tweaking. If I can get the steps down right, I'll post it.
@@IronEchoDesign There s no such tutorial available on internet. If you have some free time, please upload the steps. That would be very helpful for many users, specially who don’t have Adobe Illustrator.
How do you reduce the file size? As you mentioned in your video
There's a few options. Do you have Windows? Open your image with the Photos app and at the top center menu, click the 3 dots. In the dropdown choices you'll see "Resize image". There you can reduce the file size so it will be easier for Inkscape to handle. Hope this helps!
A lot of times, I get no image in the box, any idea why? could it be because the file is too big? Inkscape does not freeze or anything.
I've seen this too from time to time. Couple things to check- is the image selected? Is Live Updates box checked? Try moving the threshold slider too. Hope this helps!
TOPIC REQUEST:
Arcs. I want to join two points by the arc of a perfect circle. I can't get the endpoints of an arc to snap to the two points. I can do this on paper with a compass and a perpendicular bisector but how on earth do I accomplish this in Inkscape? There is a tool that converts a straight line to a sort of arc-ish curve, but it is definitely not a circular one and I must set the radius to an exact value. I am stumped.
Thanks great video. Is it possible to do a simple symetrical design for a stained glass window that can be printed to a specific size. Thanks again
Thanks! I think that would be possible. Did you have a specific desigb in mind?
@@IronEchoDesign thanks for prompt reply. I was thinking of a symetrical victorian panel
I'm not sure if I can add image here. I hand drew one but I would rather be able to do one on inkscape and print out to actual size
I got another request...How to make a spiral with a graph in it. Using it for graphing a design on the top of a crocheted hat.
Thanks again, and I'm not in front of my computer, but I think if you go to Extensions- Render- Grids you'll see some options to make graphs that may work. Polar Grid is the one I'm thinking of first.
Hi IronEcho Design
thank you for your work at inkscape, but why did you put the logo of Adobe Photoshop and Affinity Photo on your banner and not Gimp or Krita?
See you later!
Thanks- I forgot those were on there. My goal when I started the channel was to do tutorials on all three. Guess I got carried away with Inkscape.
@@IronEchoDesign i love inkscape! there are so many powerful free and opensource software... but you have to know them (inkscape, blender, gimp, krita, firefox, vlc, audacity...)
Thank you for your videos on inskcape!
Ok I am sure I am becoming a pest by now but I have another question. I think I saw an older video of yours where you went over exporting with different fille types then packaging them in a zip file. You know as if someone were gong to sell their work on creative fabrica or etsy. Can you direct me to that video? Gosh I hope it was one of yours. Feels like I have watched hundreds of videos from many creators and educators.
No worries! It wasn't my video, but I'd like to see how others do it. I haven't sold anything on the asset sites yet, but it would be good to know best way to package for upload.
@@IronEchoDesign Thank you for the reply anyway. Very gracious of you. I have much of yours to watch
Thanks!!
I’m stuck. I’ve tried for 3 hours total to try to clip and set clip that butterfly wing. It will not work. I’ve rewind and watched over and over, and it just won’t. Resumed after dinner and it still won’t. Ughhhh.
Let's fix this. It could be the butterfly clipping shape is in 2 parts or more. The clipping function will only work if its a single path. Can you check to see if you're using a group or multiple individual pieces?
Can’t see where or what folder you dragged it in from.
I drag in items from a folder on my desktop off screen.
Mate, this is the dogs bollocks. Thanks.
Thanks! Best comment yet.
NXT video?
Editing tonight. Should upload tomorrow.
i do need help with lowering the size of my images😱
No problem! Are you using Windows? If so: 1. Find the image file you want to resize on your computer. 2. Before you open the image file, right click the file name and hover over the choice in the pop up menu- Open with. 3. Select Photos. 4. When your image opens click on the 3 dots on the top menu. 5 Select Resize. 6. Choose a smaller size. Hope this helps!
Yes im using windows and thank you i will try that😊
Good luck, and if another option is needed let me know.
