So amazing that you started your own school AND you're a special education teacher. I'm a pediatric physical therapist and soooo appreciate everything you and all of the other teachers ESE and standard education teachers do for our children! This world needs more amazing schools. Thanks for making a great video and teaching others how to do what you do.
â€ïžđâ€ïžđâ€ïžđ and totally thank you, some of our students could never reach their full potential without talented compassionate PTâs.
Sis youâre so awesome!!! This was great tips! Iâm so glad you chose your profession, we need more great teachers like you! đ

Thatâs awesome that you started your own school and business!! I didnât know they had grants to help start off small businesses. Thanks for the tips about looking for the right bank for your business. I will definitely look Into the Facebook group. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. đ€
Thank you so much for checking me out.
Thank you for this! Iâm happy that we have done everything on your list. We are finishing our business plan
Awesome!!!! Keep me posted!! Keep pushing.
Great that you started a Facebook group, I'm sure will benefit a lot of people wanting to open a school. I never even knew you could do this. I've been contemplating homeschooling my kids đ€ but they're still too young, but you never know x x
All the best with that decision. I initially wanted to homeschool my oldest, but that didnât workout. I was t meant to homeschool and she wasnât meant to be homeschooled. Lol!!!
Good to know all these information about opening your own school. Love how your so brave and confident of having your own business. Good luck â€đ I am homeschooling my 4 year old right now because of this pandemic. Its not easy but we make it work.
Itâs for sure not easy. My hat is off to all homeschooling parents.
I had to watch again. I finally completed my vision, mission and impact statementâŠ.and oh⊠found a name. I am now working on my website & biz plan. Hoping to find a biz plan template.
Love this info! Whatâs the name of your fB group
I would love, I mean, adore opening a sword fencing academy just for like 3 years in my lifestyle
Getting through the instructors videos I'd have to rent will be so different right now
But #Goodluck thanks đđđ
Trying to start an all arts school with nothing but just my vision,It seems and sounds impossible but nothing is impossible đ
I agree!!!! I know someone who is doing a performing arts school. What steps have you completed?
If I were to start a school, it would be an inclusive/integrated school. There would be students with disabilities such as Autism, ADHD, Tourette's, Intellectual Disability, Down Syndrome, etc., as well as neurotypical and gifted students. The main reason for this is because I have an Autism Spectrum diagnosis, and so I want other kids with autism or other challenges to grow up in an environment where they feel understood and accepted.
Because a large number of students in the school would probably have sensory issues, I would try to have the school be in a calm, quiet neighborhood, or rural area, rather than in a city, or on a busy street. Another reason I would do this is because I would want my students to be as close to nature as possible, so that they could learn very important lessons about nature, such as which plants are safe to eat or touch, and which ones aren't. I also want kids to learn respect for nature and for their environment.
As many meals and snacks served at the school as possible would be from food that was grown/raised on the school property, and students would even be encouraged to help to grow/raise the food.
What an assessment vision. This sounds amazing. We want to expand to open our school up to neurotypical and gifted kids too.
@CindyTheLDCoach thank you! My school would tailor the curriculum to fit around each individual student, and their specific learning needs and personalities. Students would be encouraged to join extracurricular teams and clubs such as gardening club, hiking team, swimming team, canoeing team, kayaking team, art club, woodworking club, acting club, among others. Tech would be avoided as much as possible, unless it is necessary for communication, or as a calculator for math. For math class, tangible objects would be used as often as possible. I have seen a series called, "Planet School." Of the schools shown on that series, my two favorites were the role play school in Denmark, where students learned about the Titanic by actually acting out a scene from the incident, and the Forest school in New Zealand, where students learned about bouancy by actually building a raft. I would prefer that students be learning what to do in real life situations. Knowing which plants are safe to eat is helpful if you are stranded in the wilderness or on a deserted island for an extended period of time.
This is my exact vision
This is SO HELPFUL!! For some reason though, I'm unable to join the Facebook group. Looks like it got deleted or something?
Hey!! I am so happy that it is useful. That is always my aim. Yes, the group is no longer public. I explain more below, in addition Iâve started a series of videos that will walk you step by step through the process of opening a school. I explain more about that here also: Introducing Teacher School Builders: How To Start A Private School From Scratch

Love your video very inspiring thank you for sharing đI started a NPO in honor of my sister who passed away in 2021, and want to start a school also. Can I do it through my NPO.
How beautiful you would want to carry on your sisterâs memory this way. What is NPO?
Thank you for all the information you have provided for those of us who are seriously considering taking this journey. I have two questions:
1. Why did you decide to register your school as a Corporation as opposed to an LLC?
2. I remember you stated that we needed to register our schoolâs name with the secretary of state, but do we reserve the business name first or just register the name with the state?
You are so welcome!!! I am a nonprofit that is the only reason.
Itâs the same thingâŠfiling your business with the secretary of State (at least in my state that is who overseas business registration)
Thank you for this! Do you happen to know the steps for online school? Everything I search brings up how to create an online course which I've done before. But I'm trying to open an actual school online not just a course. And it's been really hard to find this information.
So the steps would for the most part be the same. The difference would be of course how you deliver instruction and accrediting and that is only if you are getting accredited. Are you doing an online medical training or traditional schooling for kids.
Google how to start a school. The article that comes up should be mine. Read through it and let me know what questions you have.
@@CindyTheLDCoach Thank you so much for replying! It's for adults... a Medical Office Assisting Certification. I'd have to get licensed/accredited in my state for a physical school, but I'm not sure how that works online. I'd like to make it self-paced. I'm going to probably just have to call and speak to someone directly because it seems to all be geared toward in-person learning.
I wasnât able to access the Facebook group link is there another way to view it?
The Facebook group has been set to private and only open to certain individuals.
How do we register
what groundwork needs to be done with the City and or County we want to operate in?
Most places in the US, and if you are starting a private school, all that needs to be done is a business license and a physical location that meets zoning requirements.
We are a for profit businessâŠ
What?!
No Closed Caption (CC) on this video... SAD
I wish I knew how to make it appear. When I try it seems like I have to type it all myself. It use to do it automatically. I promise when I figure it out I will add it.

You have had it on your other videos... I thought...
It really helps when I have to LEARN, because when a person SEEs what We also HEAR... it sinks into our psyche even quicker.
(cc) helps a lot.
We need help on the crow nation Indian reservation! Our kids have to ride a bus 15 miles one way, they have to ride a cold bus to a school, whoâs racism runs deep on our reservation and people, we need help!
Question of the day: What is preventing you from start your school?
I have no idea where to start. I've started watching your channel to get tips and information. I'm going to check your FB page out too. Thank you!
Yes, join the group and if you have a specific question post it and Iâll go from there.
If you were given a million dollars right now, would you be able to say to potential parents, âyou can now fill out enrollment applications to start our school?â
When someone asked me that question before I had my school, my answer was the same. That person told me money wasnât the issue. Once took alway all excuses, what I realize was that I wasnât prepared even if I had been given the money.
Do you have a name? School colors? Student handbook? Parent/teacher handbook? What is your niche? Do you have a business structure? The point is yes you will need money, but there is so many things that need to be done that require little to no money. Start with those things.
I am rooting for you!

@@CindyTheLDCoach I can do this. Developing the school name, colors, mission, and so on. Yeah this a good start. Thank you!
