      disagree wholeheartedly. That 57 was probably the only possible combo that villain would valuebet that's worse, and they're never bluffing. the Kc blocking some flushes is not enough to make you call.

      @@LMW87MMA I agree with you, I would fold, those who are saying it is an easy call are severely overestimating the hands that she can show up with for value that we beat. It is pretty much 75s...and nothing else. If we had the ace of clubs I could find a call here (since Axcc are very plausible value hands), but putting all Axcc into her value range makes this a pretty clear fold.

      calling 600 into a 2100 pot with two tens is an awful call. AT would be a better hand to call with since u have removal to ur opponent having an ace and either having a KX or JX hand. U can only catch a queen to win in most situations and the queen of hearts could be a devastating card. And if the queen comes does ur opponent pay off a big bet...not likely even though Lex does pay it off. This is a huge gamble to call turn bet in this scenario. Bad play.
      I couldn't tell for sure if the opponent had the ten of hearts; if so this is even worse to call the turn with because it eliminates so many flush draws.

    The JJ hand
    We fold because of Villans bet sizing . Have to give credit. a lot of Tx hands will continue vs your flop and turn bet sizings. (All pair + gutshot draws; side note obviously his TT call is horrible)
    Maybe we can call with one combo of JJ but it’s better to call with all AA, almost all KK, and obviously Tx. Turn needs to be 2e sizing . If I had to guess I’d say JJ on the river is maybe 1/4 call . I could be very wrong though.
    I don’t think people are barreling 2/3 pot on river in that spot vs a board that is literally top of your range . Seems suicidal, and I don’t think there’s a hand that calls two streets that’s a complete airball. So villain should be taking all middling showdown value here and checking. Even his two pair hands should check sometimes.
    That’s my thoughts. Best of luck keep grinding lex . Love the content.

    Hey Lex, I hope you see this. I think it's wild to see people bash poker players on their play without facts. People were really upset with you for your AK play and just instantly went in on you haha. I ran this through the solver and here were the results. All AK off suit in this spot is a call except when you have the A of clubs then this turns into a river raise/jam for you. GL in the future, I love the content!

    • @bigtimetimmyjim6486
      @bigtimetimmyjim6486 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Solvers assume that villain has a balanced donking range on the turn and the river, which I am never giving a random credit for here without some history; it is almost always a straight value proposition. I would be curious to see the solver's solution when all bluffs are eliminated from villain's range on the turn besides the random AcQx, AcJx, AcTx, which would all probably not be betting the river in this scenario.

    • @brianfloyd2279
      @brianfloyd2279 Před 2 měsíci +3

      @@bigtimetimmyjim6486i agree. People keep relying on this "solver approved" play, but it doesn't make it correct in each situation. U take a table full of players who don't know how to play gto and the solver goes out the window.
      People want to use the solver to justify and confirm their play. It's the same thing when a woman asks "how does this clothing look?" They ain't asking to hear the truth, they only want confirmation it looks good on them.

    • @bigtimetimmyjim6486
      @bigtimetimmyjim6486 Před 2 měsíci

      @@brianfloyd2279 Exactly! I do believe solvers are extremely valuable, but moreso because of the fact that they teach the user HOW to think about range construction than their actual outputs. Just like with any tool, a solver's outputs are only as valuable as its inputs, and a solver that is using inputs that are not representative of a typical live player will not provide outputs of any practical value.
      Ironically, using solvers correctly can make one better at playing exploitatively, although this relies on the user constructing accurate ranges for said exploitable players.

    • @brianfloyd2279
      @brianfloyd2279 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@bigtimetimmyjim6486 correct!
      When the solver says a specific hand should be played a certain way, let's A9os on the button with a HJ limper should always be a raise...I don't always play this hand. It's garbage in alot of spots. So if someone was playing gto against me then they'd have to eliminate this hand from my range in this particular situation, and they prolly won't.
      If this was a cash game I'd prolly play it with extreme caution. If in a tourney I'd fold because the player pool I play with has players that limp with AK, AQ, and AJ, and if I flop an ace they will check all the way down. On an uncoordinated board most would think the ace would be good because who limps a bigger ace from middle to late position when folded to? U can't make a straight or flush without four cards...it's only good if u flop too pair with the nine or make trips with the nine. Even if they have A2 to A8 u still have four cards on an unpaired board that can make two pair and beat u...so on ace high board there are eight different Ace X hands that beat u. So I put this hand in the bottom of my range. I am sure professionals and solver happy folks will say I am losing value by not playing it, but I keep myself out of tricky situations by not putting in money with it voluntarily. If I am in the blinds depending on action then I play it differently.

    Re that tilting hand to close: it's reasonable to make an exploitative fold there, given the live dynamic that the game is about to break. Sure, he _could_ be exploiting exactly that dynamic, knowing that you're up big, but he's got a lot of history against you, and knows that you're a for-profit pro. He's less likely to run that bluff in that spot precisely _because_ he knows that you don't think like a recreational player...
    So if he's going to be value-heavy in that spot, you can happily overfold, and save that 2k. In fact, given how you described the overall game dynamic (more passive, more multi-way flops), I definitely think you could have folded your way to an even bigger night in a few spots.

There's no way you could have put him on 10's because he had absolutely no business being in the hand to the river. I'd be just as tilted as you because that's a brutal beat.

      For this reason is why it's a fold. Rarely will someone make a huge bluff on the river when it's the last hand or so. And I think if the guy had Q9 of hearts and was bluffing missed hearts the bet would've been bigger, pot size or more at least.

    Me 3 1/2 month ran into Quads 23 times had Quads 5 times and folded before they hit Quads 5 times.
    Total of 33 times all in my local casino you talk about a downswing.

    Last hand!!! That’s why you don’t bet small on the turn when it has so many draws…. If you do, you need to fold to the river big bet, or you can block bet the river and fold to a raise.

    First hand...You still just have a bluff catcher on the river. The fact that she decided to bet/fold (assuming) for such a big size is too bad.
    Key point in the hand I think is the huge turn lead. Seems to polarize the rest of the hand. Maybe best to keep it in perspective, if you hadnt seen her cards you likely would have been fine with the hand and moved on np. The river 2p is irrelevant...you still have a bluff catcher. 57 is basically the only hand she can bet for value that you beat with that line. Thanks for the vlogs!!!

    Nice sun run. I would have folded JJ. Riv bet looked way too strong would have put him on a bigger set QQ or KK. When u reraise to 600 pre. He is not calling u with Q10 or KQ lmao. Pretty much narrows his range to big pockets or AK is the bottom of his range.

    I like the filming coming from seat four five or six because I like to see the cards as they come out. We don’t see other players from the normal angles anyway and we can’t see the cards. I’m not sure why Vloggers don’t like to film from seat four five or six. It seems to be the best position for vlogging to me.

    That last hand was definitely a call. Pocket 10s is just about the only logical hand that beats you. Q10 would've bet or raised on previous streets, and the queen on the river blocks that hand as well. But then you think, how can someone get to the river with pocket 10s. It was just that one in 1000 time that it happened. Crazy spot but good call imo.

  • @olinater5
    @olinater5 Před 2 měsíci +2

    I mean, the first hand, what are we calling with? Are we calling with a set? Or we're only calling/raising with a flush? I think having the king of clubs makes it a good candidate to call. When she leads turn, I see that as weak and she's trying to do exactly what she was doing, protecting a weak 2 pair. Generally a donk bet on the turn is not going to be the nut flush or even a flush at all, which is why I would almost always call in this spot.
