    Nice to see grind days too, much more honest depiction of regular poker play. Always learning something from your commentary. For example, that $40 raise your friend made was definitely too small I though he needed to go to $100 to try to pick up the dead money

  • @mothecat776

    Hi Doug. As we all seem to do, we 'overvalue' AK... I think that sometimes (especially when you are up against a 'nit') you should just call
    and see if your AK hits the flop. Having AK is not a license to shove on a 'short' stack... What do you think????

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  Před 4 měsíci

      The deciding factor was the dead money from the other 2 players, makes a shove the best play IMO. Heads up, call would be standard.

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  Před 4 měsíci +2

      They do spread a 2-5 and occasionally a 2-5-10 at night. I find the action in the 1-3 game is too good to leave. When I travel, I always play 2-5 and up.

      We have played against each other a few times. He knows that I would put pressure on his over pairs with my combo draws and my made hands. I feel he made 2 errors on that hand. 1 his preflop raise was too small and 2. Betting pot on such a wet board leads to trouble. I think calling my jam was only slightly -ev.

      Facing a pot size bet from PFR in a multiway pot with opponents who could’ve also hit that board makes it less likely he would be bluffing cause there’s just less fold equity
